Chapter 64: Chapter 64: Amy’s Little Scheme

"A Contract Stone..." Miche’s face paled in terror. She hadn’t expected Ophelia to be serious.

But she had already made the offer. If she backed out now, what would the people of the Snow Wolf Clan and Golden Dragon Clan think of her?

Miche bit her lip. She had worked so hard to maintain her persona for so long; she couldn’t let it crumble like this. She also absolutely could not become Ophelia’s Beast Servant.

"Enough." At the critical moment, Loki angrily snatched the Contract Stone and threw it aside. "How could a little female like Miche become your slave? You’re going too far, Ophelia."

Heartache evident in his eyes, Loki protectively shielded Miche behind him and glared furiously at Ophelia. He couldn’t believe how heartless and vicious this female was. How could she bear to bully such a wonderful person like Miche?

"I’m fine, Loki. As long as it helps you, I’m willing to do anything," Miche said, shaking her head. She leaned against his chest like a helpless little bird, her voice laced with grievance.

Loki gazed at her with deep affection. "No, you don’t need to do anything for me. It’s enough just to have me in your heart."

Standing to the side and watching the spectacle, Ali couldn’t help but gag. "Ugh, so cheesy."

Laxus clenched his fists at the sight. If Loki dared to flirt with this little female right in front of them, he couldn’t imagine how far they went back at the Snow Wolf Clan when no one was watching. His heart ached, and he finally began to understand why his sister had become so coldhearted.

Ophelia was equally nauseated by this display of mutual affection. A mocking smirk touched her lips. "If I’m not mistaken, she was the one who offered. If she can’t follow through, then she shouldn’t have opened her mouth to begin with and made a fool of herself. Please leave."

"Wait." Loki wasn’t willing to give up just like that. No matter what, he had to get the medicine today. "Since you don’t want the elderly females, Ophelia, then we’ll leave Amy here.

"Amy is also a young female of the Snow Wolf Clan. Not to mention, she’s your biological daughter. That should make up the numbers, right?"

"Is she not your daughter as well?" Ophelia retorted with a cold, sarcastic laugh. "Before, you spoiled her to the heavens like she was your most precious treasure. Now, you’re abandoning her just for the position of Clan Leader. What a truly wonderful father you are."

Gritting his teeth, Loki fired back with righteous indignation. "What right do you have to judge me? Didn’t you abandon her too?"

Faced with his accusations, Ophelia remained exceptionally calm. "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re scheming. You want to dump her onto our Golden Dragon Clan, forcing me to waste our food raising her to adulthood. That’s simply a losing deal.

"Besides, the Golden Dragon Clan will never accept a cub who disowns her own biological mother."

"You... you..." Loki gnashed his teeth in fury, but he was completely helpless to do anything about it.

Hearing the commotion outside, Amy had sneaked out and hidden in a corner, catching Ophelia’s exact words. Listening to their conversation, Amy realized that not only her mother, but now even her father didn’t want her anymore. She was being abandoned all over again.

This dealt a heavy blow to her young, fragile mind. Her chest ached as if a giant hand were squeezing her heart. A wave of intense regret washed over her—she never should have made her mother so angry before.

Only after experiencing abandonment firsthand did she understand how agonizing it truly felt. When she had rejected her mother back then, her mother must have felt even worse than she did now.

Now, Amy was filled with agonizing remorse. She ran up to Ophelia and fell to her knees, pleading, "Mother, I know I was wrong.

"I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have disowned you. I just want to stay with you now. Please, can you forgive me?

"I can’t live without you." Amy shamelessly begged for forgiveness, relying on the blood tie between her and Ophelia.

Yet, in the face of such an emotional scene, Ophelia’s expression remained entirely unfazed. "Don’t call me Mother. I don’t have such a selfish cub. The moment you chose Miche to be your mother, I ceased to be yours."

Overwhelmed with shame, Amy cried even harder. "Mother, I was just ignorant before. I swear I’ll change from now on! Please, don’t send me away.

"I have nowhere left to go. If you don’t want me, I’ll die."

"Amy, get up first." Laxus’s heart ached watching his niece cry. He tried to intervene. "Ophelia, look..."

Ophelia shot Laxus an icy glare, forcing the rest of his words back down his throat.

Left with no other choice, Laxus picked Amy up and carried her over to Rebecca. "Mother, please watch over Amy for now."

"Uncle, you agreed to let me stay, didn’t you?" A glimmer of hope shone through Amy’s red and swollen eyes. Her uncle was the Young Clan Leader of the Golden Dragon Clan. If he insisted on keeping her here, even her mother wouldn’t be able to stop him.

Amy’s eyes darted around calculatingly. Throwing her arms around Rebecca’s neck, she called out sweetly, "Grandma."

This melted the already softhearted Rebecca, filling her with joy. "From now on, our Amy will stay with the Golden Dragon Clan. Grandma and Grandpa will dote on you properly."

Standing nearby, Soro watched his mate with a deeply furrowed brow.

Ophelia, however, felt as if a massive boulder were lodged in her chest. How could her mother so willingly accept the cub who had once hurt her so deeply?

"Loki, I will not accept the elderly female or Miche, so just give up on that idea," Ophelia declared. Her impatience was palpable as she added, "If you don’t gather the required number of people today, you’ll lose your chance altogether.

"This is my final warning to you."

"Ophelia, don’t be angry." Seeing that she wasn’t joking, Loki instantly softened his tone. "It’s all my fault. I’ll go back right now and find you healthy females. I guarantee they’ll be full of life."

Not daring to argue any further, Loki immediately prepared to rush back to the Snow Wolf Clan. This time, he would gather all the females. He absolutely could not miss this one and only opportunity.

Miche kept shooting pointed glances at Loki, unwilling to accept this outcome. She muttered quietly, "We already have so few clan members. Are we really going to just give them away? That’s far too unfair."

"We don’t have a choice right now. We just have to do as Ophelia says." In his rush to avoid wasting time, Loki’s attitude toward Miche even took on a hint of impatience. He was determined that no one would become a stumbling block on his path to becoming Clan Leader.

"Please, don’t take us away! We promise we’ll be very obedient. We just want to stay with our families! We can even eat less food..." Catching Loki’s gaze, two females were suddenly filled with a strong sense of foreboding.

"Stop whining and come with me," Loki ordered, his face cold.

These two females weren’t very attractive, but they had the advantage of being physically strong. Most importantly, sending these two females and their respective three male mates away would significantly reduce the burden on the Snow Wolf Clan.
