Chapter 166: Chapter 166: The Distant Holy Capital

Klein looked at Ophelia’s suddenly brightening eyes, feeling a secret sense of unease.

"W-what is it?"

"Klein, you’ve been to the Holy Capital. Could you possibly get your hands on a loom?"

"A loom? You mean that wooden frame specifically used for weaving linen? What do you want with that?"

Wearing linen was popular among the people of the Holy Capital. When he visited before, he had observed the linen-making process. However, it was far too tedious. The weaving craft was incredibly complex and couldn’t be mastered overnight. The time wasted on weaving would be better spent hunting or mining.

"I like wearing linen, so I want to try weaving it myself."

"You know how to weave?" Klein was astonished. He suddenly felt that Ophelia was simply too omnipotent.

Ophelia shook her head honestly. "No, but it doesn’t hurt to try. If I don’t try, how will I know if I can’t do it? Just tell me, can you help me get a loom? I can pay no matter how many Crystal Stones it costs."

Klein pursed his lips. "I can only try my best. After all, no one would willingly part with such a thing."

A loom was a crucial tool for weaving, and generally, the Holy Capital did not allow them to be leaked outside.

"Alright. If it’s really impossible, I’ll think of another way," Ophelia said, not wanting to force the issue.

Seeing Ophelia being so understanding, Klein felt a little unhappy. He grasped her hand, his eyes darkening slightly. "Ophelia, we are mates. You can demand things of me; you don’t need to be so polite."

During the time they had spent together recently, he had seen Ophelia throw little tantrums at Tyler. She would vehemently demand that Tyler do certain things. Even though Tyler would be shy or reluctant, he would still indulgently agree to her requests. Whenever he saw that, he felt incredibly envious.

"Um, okay. I’ll try my best."

Having her hand suddenly held, Ophelia felt a bit awkward. She subconsciously wanted to pull away, but remembering their relationship as mates, she forced herself to suppress her instincts.

Klein could feel Ophelia’s resistance, as well as her attempt to accept him. He knew he couldn’t push her too hard, so he held on for a moment longer before letting go. Ophelia sighed in relief, turning away to find an excuse to leave the room.

Klein went straight to Ten Thousand Beasts City to find Moye. Moye was slightly surprised to see him arrive.

"White Tiger King, what brings you here? Is something the matter with Ophelia?"

Upon seeing him, Moye immediately stood up. Before leaving, his Young Master had specifically instructed him to ensure Ophelia’s safety. Therefore, during the time the Young Master was away, he absolutely could not let anything happen to her. Otherwise, he would be in a world of trouble.

"Ophelia wants a loom."

"A loom? Only the Holy Capital has those. Has she still not given up on that idea?" Moye was astonished by Ophelia’s perseverance.

"Yes. I know you have a way to send a message to the Holy Capital," Klein said. "Tell Zerev that as long as he can get a loom, I am willing to trade a purple Crystal Stone for it."

"A purple Crystal Stone?" Moye gaped in shock.

In truth, Crystal Stones could be used as currency not just because they were convenient to carry and store, but more importantly, because any Crystal Stone cyan-grade or higher contained energy fluctuations. This energy could enhance a male’s strength.

The reason the noble families of the Holy Capital were able to become High-level Tribes was precisely because of their clansmen’s formidable power. And the source of their strength was absorbing the energy from Crystal Stones.

Of course, this secret information had not reached the low-level tribes, nor would cyan-grade or higher Crystal Stones ever appear there. Purple Crystal Stones were incredibly rare; an entire mine might not even produce fifty in a year. For Klein to casually offer a purple Crystal Stone just for a loom was truly an extravagant gesture.

"You know that Crystal Stones can enhance strength, right?" Moye asked in a low voice.

"Naturally."

"And you’re still willing to trade one for a loom?"

Klein’s face remained completely calm. "She wants it, and I am willing to give it."

Seeing the contented expression on Klein’s face, Moye secretly gave him a thumbs-up in his mind. Ophelia’s methods were truly formidable. Not only had she made his Young Master bow to her, but even the White Tiger King was more than willing to part with his Crystal Stones for her sake.

Since Klein had put it like that, Moye naturally had no reason to refuse. He immediately dispatched a Feather Clan male from Ten Thousand Beasts City to deliver the message to Zerev, far away in the Holy Capital. He specifically instructed the messenger that the matter was extremely urgent and must be reported to Zerev face-to-face.

Three days later, in the Holy Capital.

Inside a magnificent and imposing stone building sat a young male with a stern expression. Zerev had a dark look on his face as he listened to a subordinate’s report. If Ophelia were here, she would have discovered that the windows were actually fitted with glass. Although it wasn’t perfectly transparent, it already took on the rudimentary form of glass.

"Young Master, Princess Sophie is here. She wishes to see you."

Zerev didn’t even lift his eyes, continuing to listen to his subordinate’s report. Seeing this, the Beast Servant could only bow and withdraw.

Outside, a petite female dressed in a yellow linen dress hurriedly stepped forward to ask, "Is Brother Ze willing to see me?"

The Beast Servant shook his head. "The Young Master is currently handling affairs and has no time to see you, Princess."

Hearing this, Sophie pouted in dissatisfaction. "Handling affairs, always handling affairs! Where does he get so many official duties to handle every single day?

"It’s been a month since he returned from Ten Thousand Beasts City, and I haven’t been able to see him once. Is it that he doesn’t want to see me, or is he really too busy?"

The Beast Servant did not dare to reply. In reality, Sophie also knew that Zerev simply did not want to see her. Otherwise, he could have spared a moment during a meal to see her and exchange a few words.

Just as she was about to turn and leave, a familiar face hurried past her.

"Isn’t that Jiuying?"

The Beast Servant looked up. "Yes, it’s Jiuying. He is the Young Master’s most trusted Beast Servant."

"He seems in such a rush. Did something happen?"

"This servant does not know."

Jiuying only handled the Young Master’s confidential affairs; low-level Beast Servants like him were not qualified to know.

Sophie rolled her eyes and waved her hand. "Fine, you are dismissed. I’ll head back myself."

The Beast Servant knew Sophie ran over here every few days and was exceptionally familiar with the way out of the estate. So, he said no more and obediently retreated.

After he left, Sophie sized up her surroundings. Once she was sure no one was around, she tiptoed forward. She approached the estate’s meeting hall, pressed her head against the wall, and turned her ear to eavesdrop.

Inside the meeting hall, Zerev saw Jiuying approach and raised a hand to halt his subordinate’s report.

"You may leave for now."

"Yes, Young Master."

The male obediently took his leave. As he walked out the door, he paused when he spotted Sophie hiding outside, eavesdropping. Sophie shot him a look, gesturing for him to leave quickly. Knowing that Sophie was Zerev’s future mate, the male didn’t linger.

In the room, Jiuying dropped to one knee. "Young Master, a message has arrived from Ten Thousand Beasts City."

"Is it Ophelia? Did something happen to her?"

"City Lord Moye sent word that they want a loom. The White Tiger King has promised to trade a purple Crystal Stone in exchange."

A loom? The White Tiger King? Hearing these words together, Zerev immediately thought of Ophelia. She must have had another novel idea. Back when he was still in the Fuzu Tribe, he had seen Ophelia planting jute, castor, and several other types of hemp-like vegetation.

Now it seemed she wanted to make linen herself.
