I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 151: Favoring Tyler
Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Favoring Tyler
That night, the second floor was filled with passionate warmth, while the third floor remained bitterly cold and silent.
Tyler tried his hardest to block out the noises coming from downstairs. However, the sounds were piercingly loud. Even covering his ears did nothing to muffle them. Furthermore, the loudest noises were coming from the male. Tyler knew Zerev was doing it on purpose; the other man was deliberately showing off to him.
In the second-floor room, Ophelia playfully kicked Zerev. The corners of her eyes were flushed red as she reproached him, "Keep your voice down."
The sheer intensity of his vigorous noises made even her feel shy.
Zerev leaned down slightly and planted a kiss on her lips. "I can’t help it," he said, his voice husky. "It’s your fault for being too tempting."
"You’re not allowed to do that."
Ophelia knew that males had excellent hearing. She could only imagine how complicated Tyler’s feelings must be right now, having to listen to such a commotion. She even felt a twinge of regret, thinking she shouldn’t have given in.
Seeing her regret, Zerev’s eyes darkened. However, he didn’t dare to be too loud anymore, terrified of actually angering her and losing his chance for a next time.
Eventually, Ophelia put a stop to his advances.
A mist formed in Zerev’s eyes as he looked at her in confusion. "Why?"
"If I get pregnant with your cub again, it wouldn’t be fair to Tyler," she said shyly.
Zerev felt a surge of dissatisfaction, but it was quickly quelled when Ophelia shot him a fierce glare. Wiping the sweat from his face, she praised him in a soft voice, "That’s a good boy."
Zerev felt like she was praising him as if he were a dog, pulling his lips into a helpless smile. What else could he do? He just had to spoil his own mate.
Zerev was ecstatic that night. But by the following evening, his face had fallen into a scowl. This was because Ophelia firmly believed in equal affection and absolute fairness. Still, she held a slight bias toward Tyler—she was willing to bear his cubs.
"Princess, I love you," Tyler said, his eyes red as a single tear slid down his cheek.
Ophelia arched her back slightly, using her fair fingertips to wipe the tear from the corner of his eye before taking the initiative to offer him a kiss.
"I love you too, Tyler."
"This is more than enough, Princess," Tyler replied, his voice hoarse. He didn’t ask for much. As long as she held a place for him in her heart, he would be content, even if he wasn’t the most important one.
As if reading his thoughts, Ophelia’s heart gave a violent clench. She leaned close to his ear and exhaled softly. "Tyler, you are the most important person in my heart."
Hearing her words, a warm surge filled Tyler’s chest, and his nose tingled with emotion.
Sensing his burning intensity, Ophelia’s almond eyes widened in shock. She wondered if she had said the wrong thing.
Sweat from Tyler’s forehead dripped onto her cheek.
"Princess, having me is enough."
Seeing his unyielding determination, Ophelia had no choice but to compromise.
Up on the third floor, Zerev naturally heard the commotion below, and Ophelia’s heartfelt confession fell clearly upon his ears.
Their second son, Dan’er, was still full of energy and wide awake. He trotted over to Zerev’s feet, wanting his father to play with him.
"Father, play with me."
Zerev was in a terrible mood, and the request only irritated him further. He stared coldly at Dan’er on the floor, his foot twitching. However, seeing the similarities between his second son’s facial features and Ophelia’s, he swallowed his frustration and held back from kicking the boy away.
Dan’er was completely oblivious to the dark thoughts swirling in his father’s mind. He tried to nuzzle affectionately against Zerev, only to be stopped dead by a single, chilling glare.
"Go to sleep!"
Dan’er pursed his lips. Knowing his father’s uncompromising temper, he obediently shifted into his beast form and retreated to his grass nest to sleep.
Three days later.
Ophelia had finally finished preparing twenty bottles of antiseptic medicine and ten bottles of White Life-saving Pills. Just as she was waiting for Lam to come and pick up the goods, a sudden commotion broke out nearby.
Ophelia looked up to see a group of males rushing hurriedly toward her, led by Laxus.
Laxus wore an anxious expression. "Ophelia, this tribesman is injured. Can you see if your antiseptic medicine can save him?"
Ophelia examined the male lying on the ground. He looked to be only about twenty years old. A long claw mark ran across his lean abdomen. The gash was incredibly deep, with the flesh torn open and blood dyeing his entire body red.
"I’m not sure," she replied. After all, the antiseptic medicine was not a cure-all panacea. If the injury was truly severe, even it wouldn’t be enough to save a life.
"Ophelia, I’m begging you. You have to save my younger brother. He’s still young. He hasn’t even found a mate yet!" A male standing nearby suddenly grabbed her hand. Overcome with agitation, he failed to control his strength, instantly leaving a red mark on Ophelia’s wrist.
"I can only try. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to save him."
The male knew that his brother was critically injured, so he didn’t dare to force an absolute promise out of her.
"That’s fine. As long as you’re willing to help, I’ll accept whatever the outcome may be," the male said, his voice trembling.
Seeing this, Ophelia sighed. She poured a White Life-saving Pill out of a nearby clay bottle and shoved it into the injured male’s mouth, forcing him to swallow it.
"Follow me."
The wounded male was quickly settled into the room where Laxus had stayed previously. Smelling the heavy scent of blood, Tyler wrinkled his nose in distaste. However, since a life was on the line, he kept his complaints to himself.
Ophelia took out a packet of herbal medicine—meant for disinfection and sterilization—and handed it to Tyler to brew. Then, she rapidly sprinkled hemostatic powder over the wound on the male’s abdomen.
Within a matter of minutes, the bleeding stopped. Witnessing this, a glimmer of hope ignited in the young brother’s heart.
Once the bleeding had completely ceased, Ophelia began to wipe away the bloodstains around the wound with warm water. By the time she finished cleaning the grime from his abdomen, Tyler walked in carrying the freshly brewed herbal decoction.
Using a clean piece of animal skin, Ophelia soaked up some of the cooled decoction and repeatedly wiped the skin around the male’s wound to disinfect it. After sanitizing the area, she covered the gash with antiseptic medicine powder and securely bandaged it with pieces of Beast Skin Gauze.
She took out two packets of fever-reducing medicine and handed them to the young brother. "If he gets a fever, boil this medicine for him to drink.
"One bowl at a time. One packet is enough for three doses. Boil three bowls of water down to one.
"If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask Tyler. As long as he can survive the next three days, his life will no longer be in danger," Ophelia carefully instructed the injured male’s brother.
The brother nodded repeatedly in deep gratitude. He pulled a Yellow Crystal Stone out from his clothes. "Ophelia, this is your payment."
"Hold on to it for now. You can give it to me after he’s out of danger."
The younger male’s injuries were clearly much more severe than his older brother’s had been the last time, so the older brother was fraught with uncertainty as well.
