Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Taking Ali as a Daughter

Neither Ophelia nor Zerev wanted to pass the news to the Family Head. Moye had no choice but to order all the males on this trip, including those from the Golden Dragon Clan, to swear to keep this secret. Otherwise, they would be reduced to Wandering Beasts.

The group traveled for about five more days before finally returning to the Fu Clan.

Looking at the familiar walls of the Fuzu Tribe, the exhaustion in Ophelia’s heart vanished in an instant.

This must be the sense of belonging that came with having a home.

The shops along the walls of the Fuzu Tribe were now fully developed. Many people from surrounding tribes who needed to barter goods would come here.

It was currently operating hours for the wall shops, and quite a few customers had gathered at the entrances—even more than the crowds previously seen at the trading market. Because the goods here were so abundant, they no longer had to run back and forth between several markets to gather everything they needed.

Upon arriving at the Fuzu Tribe, Moye took the males from Ten Thousand Beasts City and headed back.

Laxus was also about to lead the males of the Golden Dragon Clan back when the male guards of the Fuzu Tribe spotted Ophelia and hurriedly came to greet her.

"Clan Leader, you’re finally back!"

"Yes, the Clan Leader of the Golden Dragon Clan and his wife have been staying here for several days. They’re very worried about you."

Hearing the words of the two males, Laxus abandoned his plan to return to the Golden Dragon Clan.

After exchanging a few brief words with the two male guards, Ophelia led everyone home.

The moment their footsteps echoed near the three-story stone house, two figures ran out from inside.

"Ophelia, my child, you’re finally back."

Leon stood to the side, carefully looking Ophelia up and down. Seeing that she was unhurt, his stern face softened a little.

Rebecca hugged Ophelia, checking her over and over again before she finally felt relieved. After checking Ophelia, she pulled Laxus over and inspected him as well. Seeing that he was also unharmed, she finally let out a breath of complete relief.

For the sake of fairness, she then considerately asked about Tyler and Zerev’s conditions.

Tyler smiled. "Don’t worry, Rebecca, I’m perfectly fine."

Although Zerev couldn’t be as gentle as Tyler, he still answered every question directed at him.

"I’m doing well."

"Mother, look, what’s this?" Ophelia asked.

"Huh?"

Ophelia reached into the woven basket on Tyler’s back and brought out a pale golden female cub, the youngest of the three. Then, Tyler and Zerev tacitly took the oldest and second-oldest cubs out of their respective baskets.

Rebecca looked at the three soft, adorable little dragon cubs in front of her, so overjoyed that she felt dizzy with happiness.

"You were too bold, going to the White Tiger Clan with such a big belly!

"Thank goodness the three little dragon cubs were born safely. If anything had happened to you, how would your mother go on living?"

After the initial joy faded, Rebecca’s mood immediately shifted. She had given birth herself, so she naturally understood the dangers involved.

Leon, rarely showing such anger, darkened his face and said coldly, "It was absolute nonsense!"

The reason Rebecca only had two children, Ophelia and Laxus, was because Leon had witnessed firsthand the immense hardship of her labor. Because of that, he refused to have any more children no matter what, simply to spare his mate from going through such suffering again.

Seeing that her parents were angry, Ophelia hurriedly comforted them. "Mother, I’m fine now, aren’t I? The little dragon cubs hatched from eggs, so my delivery was actually very easy."

"Hmph, you say it’s easy. Since when is having a child an easy thing?" Rebecca’s eyes reddened.

Ophelia watched Rebecca tear up and helplessly sent a pleading look to her brother.

Laxus, equally anxious, flushed red in the face. He had no idea how to even begin comforting their mother.

It was Ali, standing to the side, who noticed their awkwardness and quickly spoke up to change the subject.

"Auntie, are you Ophelia’s mother? You’re so beautiful! No wonder you gave birth to such a pretty female cub like her.

"If I didn’t know better, I would have thought you and Ophelia were sisters. You look way too young!"

Flattery gets you everywhere. Ali had a sweet tongue and successfully diverted Rebecca’s attention.

Hearing Ali praise her like this, Rebecca wiped her tears, blushing shyly.

"You little female cub, you’re exaggerating too much. I’m already forty years old. How could I not be old?"

Ali gasped in astonishment. "Ah! Auntie, you’re forty? To me, you look twenty-five or twenty-six at most!"

Seeing that Ali had successfully changed the subject, Ophelia immediately chimed in, "That’s right, Mother. What’s your daily skincare routine?"

"What routine could I possibly have? I just eat a little more fruit than usual."

"Really? I eat so much fruit, but all it does is make me gain weight. I haven’t noticed myself getting any prettier." Ali pinched her own chubby cheeks, looking a bit exasperated.

Rebecca quickly coaxed her, "You’re very pretty, too! Besides, you’re still young. When you grow up a bit more, you’ll definitely be even more beautiful.

"Ophelia, who is this little female..."

Ophelia opened her mouth to introduce her, but Ali patted her chest and took the initiative to introduce herself.

"Hello, Auntie! I’m Ali, the younger sister of the Clan Leader of the White Tiger Clan. My brother and I stayed with the Golden Dragon Clan before, but we just didn’t get the chance to meet you."

This was the truth. During the rainy season, Leon had been worried about Rebecca getting sick, so he rarely let her leave the stone house. Meanwhile, Ali had actually been sick and rarely left her room either, which was why their paths had never crossed.

"So you’re the White Tiger King’s sister. What a shame we didn’t meet during the rainy season.

"Seeing how sweet and well-behaved you are makes me want to have another daughter just like you."

Ever since Ophelia grew up and found her mates, she hadn’t stayed around her parents as often. Because of this, Rebecca had always wanted to have another female cub. However, no matter how much she pleaded, Leon simply refused to agree to it.

Now, seeing the adorable and obedient Ali, she couldn’t help but think about having another daughter again.

Noticing his mate’s train of thought, Leon quickly nipped the idea in the bud.

"If you want a daughter so badly, you can just accept Ali as your adoptive daughter," he suggested.

"Could I?" Rebecca looked at Ali, her eyes bright and shiny.

Ali froze for a moment. Her mother had suffered a difficult labor while giving birth to her, so she had never met her mother since the day she was born. And Rebecca perfectly fit the image of the mother she had always fantasized about.

Her eyes grew red as she threw herself into Rebecca’s arms. "I would love that."

Seeing how affectionate Rebecca and Ali were being with each other, Laxus furrowed his brows slightly.

Ophelia hadn’t expected things to develop this way either. She looked at Laxus, then at Tyler.

Tyler discreetly hooked his finger around hers and shook his head at her. "It’s fine. They aren’t related by blood. It won’t affect their future relationship."

Ophelia thought about it and agreed. They were in the Beast World, where there weren’t so many strict rules. In some smaller tribes, even blood siblings could become mates, let alone an adoptive brother and sister.

She just wondered if this new dynamic would make Laxus and Ali’s romantic journey more bumpy. Furthermore, she had no idea whether Klein would agree to Laxus and Ali becoming mates.

While Ophelia was busy worrying about Laxus’s future happiness, Rebecca issued her a strict ultimatum.

"Ophelia, you just gave birth. You can’t exhaust yourself anymore. You absolutely must do a forty-five-day postpartum confinement."

"Ah, confinement..." Ophelia had inherited half of Zerev’s strength, so she didn’t feel any fatigue or discomfort after giving birth. On the contrary, she felt even lighter and stronger now that the delivery was over.

She wanted to voice her refusal.

However, Rebecca’s face turned unusually cold. "There is no room for negotiation on this matter."
