Chapter 122: Chapter 122: That’s Right, I Like Ophelia

"Loki said that if Princess Ophelia wants to save Tyler, she should go find him at the North Mountain."

Hearing the Fu Clan male say this, Ophelia’s expression turned grim.

"Does that damn Loki really have to pop up every now and then just to sicken me?" she thought.

"Where is the North Mountain?" Ophelia asked, her face dark.

The Fu Clan male shakily pointed to the highest peak north of the forest. "Right there. The mountain paths are rugged, and there are steep cliffs. The Princess must be careful if she goes."

Ophelia gazed at the towering mountain to the north. She turned to leave, but someone suddenly grabbed her arm.

"No, you can’t go," Zerev scolded, his face cold.

Ophelia pulled his hand away, her expression calm. "Zerev, I have to go. Tyler is still waiting for me to save him."

At her words, Zerev’s eyes instantly turned red. "Is he really that important to you?"

Ophelia’s gaze was firm. "Yes."

Right then, Laxus and Klein hurried over. With their sharp hearing, they naturally caught what the Fu Clan male had said.

Klein reached out to block Ophelia’s path. "Ophelia, you can’t go. This is clearly a trap. It will cost you your life if you do.

"Besides, Tyler is a male after all. Perhaps he has already escaped by now."

No one present believed a word of that.

"Ophelia, why did you come here? It’s too dangerous. Go back at once.

"I’ll go to the North Mountain to save Tyler. Follow the Fu Clan males and head back to the Fuzu Tribe obediently. You’re pregnant, for crying out loud—why are you running around!" Laxus’s tone carried a hint of anger.

Hearing Laxus mention her pregnancy again, Klein finally shifted his gaze to Ophelia’s heavily swollen belly. A flash of surprise crossed his eyes, tinged with a trace of disappointment.

This fleeting emotion was accurately caught by Zerev, who stood nearby.

"Ophelia, stay here. I will go to the North Mountain and bring Tyler back."

As Zerev’s voice rang out, Klein finally turned to look at him. To his surprise, he saw a familiar face.

"Zerev? Why are you here?"

As a Mine Master of the White Tiger Clan, Klein had once been honored with an invitation to a banquet in the Holy Capital, where he had crossed paths with Zerev. Recognizing Zerev’s identity at a glance, he was thoroughly astonished.

"I am now Ophelia’s mate, and the child in her belly is mine."

Laxus was a bit bewildered to hear Zerev blurt this out of nowhere. But Klein perfectly understood the underlying meaning—Zerev was declaring his sovereignty over her. He even saw a warning in Zerev’s eyes, accompanied by a faint, oppressive aura.

"Stop talking, all of you," Ophelia interrupted. "I am absolutely going to the North Mountain to save Tyler. None of you can stop me."

Klein furrowed his brows. "Ophelia, Tyler is just a male. Why must you risk your own life for him?"

In his heart, aside from Lili, no one was more important than Ophelia. The way he saw it, losing an insignificant male this time was no big deal. If Ophelia wanted, countless powerful males would be more than willing to become her mate.

"Ophelia, be good. Don’t you trust me?" Laxus coaxed.

"Laxus, even if you don’t let me go, I’ll just sneak away anyway," Ophelia replied.

The scene fell into a momentary silence.

Seeing her resolute expression, Klein felt a surge of anger. He thought Ophelia’s willingness to put herself in danger for Tyler’s sake was utterly foolish.

He turned to Zerev. "Aren’t you going to persuade her? Are you really going to let her go?"

Zerev pursed his lips. "Ophelia, I can agree to let you go, but you must follow my lead."

Seeing Zerev relent, Ophelia immediately nodded vigorously.

Hearing Zerev’s words, Klein’s eyes widened in horror. "Zerev, you..."

"Moye, have everyone rest where they are. We will set off for the North Mountain shortly," Zerev ordered.

Ever since Zerev brought Ophelia here, Moye knew he wouldn’t be able to stop her, so he obediently followed Zerev’s arrangements. "Yes, Mr. Zerev."

Looking at the exhausted faces of everyone present, Ophelia knew she could only wait for now, no matter how anxious she felt. Once she calmed down, her belly started to feel tight, and her face grew pale.

Noticing that something was wrong, Zerev quickly helped her sit on a rock by the side of the road to rest.

"If something had truly happened to Tyler, you would be able to sense it. Since you haven’t felt anything, he must still be safe," Zerev assured her.

After a female and a male became mates, they established a telepathic bond. If something happened to one, the other would sense it. For example, Ophelia had nightmares when Tyler was in trouble, which served as a form of early warning.

Ophelia cradled her belly and nodded. "Okay, I understand."

"I’ll go fetch some water for you. Rest here for a moment."

Zerev took the water skin to the stream, crouched down, and began to fill it. The clear water reflected a tall figure as the scent of a Tiger Beast wafted to his nose.

Watching Zerev fetch water himself made Klein somewhat irritated.

"Why did you agree to let Ophelia go?

"If Tyler dies, she’ll only have you by her side. Why do you want to save Tyler? Aren’t you just asking for trouble?" Klein demanded, walking up to him.

Though Klein had accepted that Ophelia would have other males, if given the chance to monopolize her, he would not refuse. He hadn’t expected Zerev to let such a perfect opportunity slip by.

After all, in his eyes, Zerev was a noble scion of the Holy Capital. The males from a noble family in the Holy Capital practiced monogamy, so comparatively speaking, Zerev’s possessiveness should be even stronger than his own. Moreover, he had heard that a Holy Clan noble family did not allow Saint Clan people to intermarry with females from a low-level tribe.

Yet, to his surprise, Zerev had actually become mates with Ophelia. What was even more absurd was that he was personally coming to save Tyler.

Having filled the water skin, Zerev slowly stood up. He shook the water droplets off his hands and shot Klein a glance. His expression was akin to looking at an absolute idiot.

"Zerev, don’t you agree with what I said?

"Since when is an esteemed young master from the Holy Capital so eager to help others?" Klein sneered.

"Instead of venting your incompetent rage here, why don’t you tell me—do you like Ophelia?" Zerev retorted.

Klein hadn’t expected Zerev to ask that, much less point out his selfish motives so bluntly. However, even when facing a scion from the Holy Capital, Klein didn’t retreat in the slightest.

He admitted it openly. "That’s right, I do like Ophelia.

"Even if you’re her mate now, I will never give up."

From the very moment Klein realized his feelings for her, he had firmly made up his mind to become her mate. Since Ophelia had taken his heart, he was bound to make her pay the corresponding price. Even if his methods and tactics differed from others, achieving his goal was all that mattered. He was a businessman, and he never made a bad trade. If he wanted something, he would fight for it at all costs.

Looking into Klein’s resolute eyes, Zerev knew that he could definitely back up his words. However, knowing Klein’s profit-driven nature, Zerev was certain that Ophelia would not fall for him. Even if Klein used unconventional means to become her mate, he would never win her heart.

In Zerev’s eyes, Klein posed absolutely no threat.
