I Can Level Up Infinitely
Chapter 316: Hunter Test
Dylan waved his hand. Immediately, a young man approached him. "Yes, Mr. Froster?"
"Follow them. See what they are here for."
"Yes." With that, the young man hurried behind Leon and the others.
Jason, meanwhile, guided everyone to a chamber. There was a table just beside the chamber entrance. The person sitting behind the table stood up instantly with a smile when he saw Jason. "Mr. Flemming. It’s good to see you here. I was waiting for you and cleared the whole waiting list for today’s hunter test."
Jason pushed forward his right arm for a handshake. "Thank you, Steven."
"Let’s go." Steven pushed open the door and welcomed the group inside.
Jason walked in first. The inside was vast. Different training setups at different corners. The chamber was more luxuriously built compared to the testing chamber in the Delvan Hunter Association. And at the center, a monolith stood proudly.
Steven pointed toward the monolith. "This one is the mana meter. I believe you two are here for the test?" Steven looked at Leon and Snow as he asked. "Who is coming first?" Jason, Sol, and Emily were known figures to anyone residing in Daselvia. So Steven knew it had to be either Leon or Snow.
Before Leon could speak, Snow stepped forward. "I am taking the test first."
"Alright." Steven nodded and gestured for Snow to touch the monolith. Snow walked forward and stopped before the Monolith. She raised her hand and placed her palm on the monolith’s surface. The moment her skin came into contact, the monolith glowed brightly. A crimson aura radiated from the monolith as the screen on its surface became alive.
[F-Class...

A-Class]
Steven nodded in satisfaction. ’Even a random person Mr. Flemming brought is an A-Class. How promising. If only he hadn’t rejected the offer to be the president.’ He mused in his heart.
"So you are an A-Class hunter," Emily said.
Snow chuckled as she looked at her. "Yeah. Surprised?"
Emily didn’t answer.
"Your mana aptitude is equivalent to an A-Class. That’s pretty good. Where are you from again? Why have I never heard of you?" Steven asked.
"Well, it’s because she isn’t from here," Sol replied.
"Not here? What do you mean?"
"She is from Delvan."
"What?" Steven looked shocked. "Mr. Flemming, you brought someone from Delvan to be a hunter here? Has she passed security clearance? I won’t be in any trouble, will I?" He asked nervously.
"Relax. She came here with this young man. Though I can’t say for sure about them, do you think I need to worry about people betraying me?" Jason asked, his voice still calm.
Steven went silent at that. After pondering for a while, he spoke. "True, Mr. Flemming. I will continue with the remaining tests then." Steven told Jason and faced Snow again.
"Though mana measurement is directly related to one’s strength, Daselvia determines a hunter’s class by a few more tests to confirm someone is really worthy of that strength. Many times, those with lower mana measurements show better fighting prowess. Inside a dungeon, monsters don’t see mana or relationship. They see the ability. They fear the presence. So your second test...
Is to fight a B-Class monster and win."
"Here?" Snow was taken aback.
"Yes. Don’t worry about the chamber. You will be fighting inside your virtual reality. The pain, the pressure, the force... Everything is almost the same. Except one thing...
You won’t die. Instead, you will respawn back at the chamber. So... Ready?" Steven asked.
"Yes." Snow nodded.
Leon was listening to everything. The licensing system here was really efficient. Or at least that’s what Leon was thinking now. ’If I were from Daselvia to begin with, I wouldn’t even have had to wait this long to get a license.’
Steven guided Snow to a circular platform. "Stand here. The moment the light beam showers down on you, your consciousness will enter the battle zone."
Snow nodded.
Steven then tapped a button. Immediately, bright light showered over Snow. And then... Her eyes became lifeless. She was still standing, yes. But she looked unconscious.
The next moment, a panel shimmered in the chamber air. Immediately, scenes started to flash. Scenes of Snow arriving at an unknown place. A ruined battlefield. Whatever Snow was doing, everyone could see it on the screen.
Snow had just arrived at an icy region. Wherever her eyes could follow, everything was white, frozen in ice...
Snow started walking. But then she stopped. She felt something. Someone was watching her. She snapped back. But no one was there. Just as she was about to look ahead...
Baaaaaam!
Something hard and icy struck her face. Her nose twisted to the side. Skin caved in. And then...
Whoooooosh!
She was sent flying. While flying back, Snow saw who it was. Or what it was.
It was huge. At least seven meters tall. Its entire body was covered in thick layers of white-blue ice. Two curved horns protruded from its forehead. With each exhale, condensed air escaped its nostrils and curled up. It was carrying an enormous club.
"A Frost Giant," Leon whispered, his eyes fixated on the screen.
Steven’s expression changed slightly as he watched Snow being sent flying. ’So she only has a good reserve of mana?’ He wondered. ’She was quick to sense it, but sensing a monster and fighting one are two completely different things. If that single strike was enough to send her flying helplessly, then perhaps an A-Class license isn’t for her.’
But Steven was the only one thinking that way.
Jason didn’t say anything. His gaze also remained fixed on the screen. He looked as if he was calculating something in his mind. Unlike Steven, he didn’t look disappointed.
’The Frost Giant isn’t an ordinary B-Class monster. Even among monsters of the same class, there are differences in strength. Frost Giants are known for their incredible physical power and their ability to conceal themselves inside icy regions. Their bodies naturally blend with snow and frost. Even experienced hunters sometimes fail to notice one before being attacked. Yet this girl.’ Jason mused inwardly. ’She could actually sense its presence.’
Snow couldn’t dodge the attack, but the fact that she had noticed something watching her before the Frost Giant revealed itself was already impressive.
’Her perception is good,’ Jason thought.
Sol glanced at his sister. "Your opponent isn’t that bad, sis." Sol teased. Like father, Sol could also tell that Snow wasn’t weak. Steven had failed to judge properly because he wasn’t a field knight who would fight monsters head-on. He would stay in the Hunter Association and conduct tests.
Emily stood beside him with her arms folded. At those words, she glared at him once before looking back at the screen.
Inside the screen, Snow crashed into an ice mountain.
Baaaaam!
Cracks spread across the mountain. Her body sank several inches into it before falling toward the ground.
Crack!
The next moment, the mountain shattered with a loud bang.
Snow slammed into the ground like a metal slab. Air was knocked out of her lungs. Blood trickled from her nose.
"That hurt." She touched her nose and looked at the blood on her fingers. Even though everything was virtual, the pain was almost completely real. Snow slowly raised her head.
The Frost Giant was already moving.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Every step caused the ground to tremble. It raised its enormous ice club. Snow’s eyes sharpened. "You bastard! You made me look bad in front of him."
The club was descending fast.
Whoooooosh!
Snow chuckled before rolling to the side.
Baaaaaaam!
The ground exploded. Ice fragments scattered everywhere. But Snow jumped back safely. "Too slow. Is that all you have got?"
The Frost Giant roared in anger before sweeping its club horizontally.
Snow raised both arms.
Whoooooosh! Crimson fire engulfed her arms.
The club struck her guard.
Booooom!
Whoooooosh!
The club shattered with a loud bang. But the impact sent her flying. She landed several meters away and slid over the frozen ground.
’Her fire control is really good.’ Leon thought. Now that he had comprehended all ten spells of fire affinity, he could tell at a glance what Snow had just done. ’It’s the fourth spell. Blazing layer. But she didn’t even have to chant.’
Inside the battlefield, Snow slowly stood up. She casually brushed off the dust from her clothes.
The ice surrounding them had shattered. She looked at the Frost Giant approaching her and narrowed her eyes. The Frost Giant suddenly started sprinting toward her. Despite its massive size, it was surprisingly fast.
Snow bolted forward as well.
"What is she doing?" Steven frowned.
The distance between Snow and the Frost Giant disappeared quickly. The Frost Giant swung its arm, which resembled a frozen hammer.
But just before its arm could strike her...
Snow changed direction. Her body slipped toward the giant’s left side. While moving, she threw several fireballs at the giant’s head. At the same moment, she kicked the ground and jumped. Fire blazed around her legs. She spun in the air. And then...
Bam!
Her heel struck the Frost Giant’s knee. A crack appeared across the ice. But the giant barely reacted. It threw a punch with its left hand.
Snow ducked.
Whoooosh!
The enormous hand passed over her head.
Snow didn’t stop. She struck the same knee again.
Bam!
Crack!
Another crack spread across the frozen surface. The Frost Giant roared.
"Grahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
And then...
It raised one foot and stomped.
