I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 565: Facing A Demon!

  • Next Chapter

Several golden pillars in the distance lit up and released more energy to hold back the pressure.

The chest of the Demon of End rose, and this time it rose more than before.

His next breath caused the sea of red mist to move back in a huge wave.

And then one of his closed eyelids moved and slowly opened, revealing a huge eye with a dark red iris.

For a moment, that eye stayed still, and then its pupil narrowed.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

The roar of the Demon of End spread through the entire prison.

The sound pressure passed through the pillars.

The golden rings shook, and several damaged platforms in the distance collapsed.

Lian had no time to think.

[Molten Bastion Body]

At the same moment, he also activated his Ancient-rank armor.

[World-Devourer Bastion]

Huge armor plates formed over his chest, shoulders, and arms, the dark metal lines settled over each other, and its heavy weight matched his strengthened body.

He stood in front of Seris.

His feet became firm against the stone.

Mountain Frame and Mountain Anchor helped increase his resistance.

However....Boom!

The wave of the roar hit them.

He was pushed several meters backward across the stone.

Deep lines appeared under his feet, and one of the armor plates on his shoulder cracked.

The Young Pendragon drove her sword into the stone to keep her balance, but even she was forced to put one knee on the ground.

When the pressure faded, Lian felt the taste of blood in his mouth, part of the damage had been transferred to his body.

And that was only a roar, one damn roar!

And worse than that, the monster was not at its peak, otherwise that roar would have killed both of them.

The Demon of End raised his huge head.

Most of his body was still connected to the golden chains, the huge central spike still passed through his chest, and most of his energy was being suppressed by the ancient seals.

But one of his front limbs was free.

Only one limb.

Claws, each one taller than a high tower, opened in the air of the prison.

The dragon looked at his own chains for several seconds, and then at the seal covered by the silver threads, and his attention focused exactly on those silver threads.

And finally, the Silver Elf.

His deep voice came out from between his huge teeth.

"You..."

"You have awakened, Your Highness."

The Elf raised her head and spoke with the greatest respect, Elves were a very proud race, and she was the same.

But the creature in front of her was a god-like existence, she had to show the greatest respect.

The Demon of End moved his neck slightly forward, and his huge eye stayed on the structure of the Elf for a moment.

It was as if he had understood the entire situation in those few seconds.

Someone was opening his prison, and two humans were trying to stop it.

"Continue."

The dragon’s voice spread through the entire prison.

The Elf said nothing, and the Demon moved his eyes toward Lian and Seris.

"I will keep these two busy."

His free claw moved.

Lian understood at that moment that the claw was not trying to follow him, the dragon was first testing the range of its movement.

His huge arm rose through the red mist and moved toward the platform at the heart of the seal.

But there was still some distance left when the chains connected to his shoulder and chest were pulled tight.

The movement of the claw slowed for a moment, and several golden seals on the dragon’s arm lit up.

The Demon of End turned his head slightly, changed the angle of his shoulder, and this time sent the claw from a lower direction.

He was measuring the limits of his own prison, and he quickly understood how much freedom he had gained.

Predator’s Instincts warned Lian at that exact moment.

"Seris, left!"

The girl moved without asking any questions.

And he also left his previous position with [Ashen Thunder Step].

A moment later....Boom!

The huge claw hit the western edge of the platform at the heart of the seal, and hundreds of meters of black stone were shattered.

A deep crack moved from the point of impact to near the central rings, and part of the platform fell into the sea of red mist.

The pressure wave reached their bodies even after they moved away.

Lian landed on a remaining piece of ground and bent his knees to absorb the force of the landing.

When he raised his head, a large part of their path back no longer existed.

The dragon had destroyed almost one-third of the battlefield without even freeing his main body.

But he had also noticed something else, the claw could not move beyond a certain range.

The chains on his shoulder and chest did not allow it.

So if they stayed aware of that range, they could predict his movements, the only problem was that, that range was still very large.

Seris landed on the other side of the crack and raised her sword, mana came out from behind her shoulders and gathered several meters away from her body.

A huge crescent took shape.

[Moon Manifestation]

The cold moonlight fell over the broken stones.

Lian immediately felt the change in her mana, it was more condensed and more organized, and what he had seen during the morning training was now taking shape on a much more serious scale.

With every movement of her sword, part of the released energy returned to the moon-shaped image, and the moon became more complete, and as a result, the power of the girl’s next attack increased.

The Demon of End raised his claw again, and this time he moved it directly toward Seris.

Apparently, those few seconds had been enough for him to understand which of the two could restore the chains.

Lian saw the movement.

"Seris, move away, go toward the eastern pillar!"

The Young Pendragon nodded, but she did not make a simple retreat, she held her sword with both hands.

[Sovereign Judgment]

A huge silver light gathered on the blade.

When the claw came down, she moved out of its direct path and at the same moment brought her sword down from above.

A heavy slash hit the outer part of one of the dragon’s fingers.

Clang!

The sound was more like two huge pieces of metal hitting each other than a sword hitting flesh, and even the black scale under the attack did not break.

But the path of one of the fingers was moved a few degrees, and instead of hitting the eastern path directly, the claw destroyed the edge of the previous crack.

Seris was thrown several meters backward by the force of the impact, but she turned her body in the air and landed on the stone.

Lian gave a quick look at the place of impact, so even her attacks could not easily pass through its scales.

Of course, this was not strange, that creature was a Demon.

If a Level 20 Awakened could easily cut through its skin, the Pendragon ancestors would not have sacrificed so many lives to stop it.

This monster was not at its peak, it had been imprisoned for centuries and had slowly weakened, and even the seals had made it weaker year after year, but that did not mean the two of them could defeat it.

A Demon was still a Demon.

But the attack was not completely useless, and those few degrees of deviation were exactly what they needed.

Lian moved from where he had landed.

The Ancient-rank armor was still on his body, and its damaged plates were slowly repairing themselves, but [Structural Memory] could not restore the entire armor as quickly as the Demon could damage it.

He knew this very well, so he had no intention of trying to fight the dragon’s claw with strength.

His goal was something else.

Near one of the joints of the claw, several old scales were broken and part of the tissue under them was exposed.

It was damage from the battle several centuries ago, if he wanted to leave an effect on the body of the Demon of End, that was the best place.

Ice gathered along his right fist.

[Glacial Reaper Claw]

Claws made from condensed cold formed around his armored fist.

He increased his speed.

[Ashen Thunder Step] burned around his feet, and in one fast movement, he crossed the distance between himself and the dragon’s falling finger.

His fist hit the damaged area.

Boom!

The cold spread along the crack in the scale.

Part of the outer layer of the wound froze, and pieces of the old black tissue broke apart.

But at that exact moment, the force of the impact moved from Lian’s fist to his shoulder, and his teeth pressed together.

The armor on his forearm cracked.

It was as if instead of flesh and bone, he had punched a mountain made from the strongest steel in the world, even though he was not even an Awakened.

He jumped back, even the damaged area was this strong, however, he had achieved his goal to some degree.

The layer of ice remained on the joint and slowed the movement of that finger for a moment.

He used this delay.

"Seris, third chain! Now!"

The girl, who had reached the eastern pillar, placed her Mark on the golden path, and light rose from inside the stone.

The chain connected to the Demon’s shoulder became slightly tighter.

The dragon noticed the change and turned his head toward the Young Pendragon.

"You smell like those cowardly and stupid Pendragons."

After hearing the Demon’s words about her family, Seris’s eyes became colder, she could not accept her ancestors being called cowards.

However, the dragon did not care about her feelings, and his mouth opened.

And Lian immediately understood that the next attack was no longer the claw.

A dark red light gathered deep inside the throat of the Demon of End.

Not normal fire, but condensed mana that was strongly destroying the area around it, even before being released, the red mist under the dragon’s mouth moved back.

He saw the path of the attack, Seris was not far from the point of impact.

But her Mark was still connected to the seal’s flow, and if she cut the connection at this moment, the chain would become loose again.

Damn it.

He brought his hand forward.

[Eternal Grave Maw]

Five jaws formed around the head of the Demon of End and tried to keep his mouth closed.

But that thing was a Demon!

The jaws did not even last for one second before falling apart.

Lian frowned for a moment when he saw that, but it did not matter, because another idea came to his mind.

At the same moment, three other huge jaws appeared in the path of one of the golden chain rings, and when they closed around the center of the corrupted section, they held back the silver flow for a moment.

This gave Seris enough time to cut the connection between her Mark and the chain without losing the progress they had made in removing the corruption from the third chain.

But the Demon’s attack was ready.

"Seris, let it go!"

At that moment, the dragon released his breath, and a huge pillar of red energy was fired toward the girl.

Lian moved toward her with [Ashen Thunder Step].

But the distance was too great, and he would not reach her in time!
