Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Evelyn Grant’s Love Letter

It was the firm’s receptionist.

She held an envelope in her hand, smiling as she pushed the door open and walked in. "Ms. Grant, someone just dropped this off at the front desk. They said it had to be handed to you personally!"

"Oh, thank you. You can just give it to me."

Evelyn Grant didn’t think much of it.

After all, as a lawyer, she often received packages from clients. Envelopes like this usually just contained case files or evidence.

After the receptionist set the envelope down, she turned and left the office.

Evelyn Grant didn’t open it right away, choosing to finish the work at hand first.

A new case required her to verify information, while an older one needed evidence organized.

Each task was thorny and unavoidable.

She was so busy that before she knew it, it was almost time to leave work. Only then did Evelyn Grant finally look up from her computer.

She glanced at her phone. Besides two messages from Ryan Sterling, there was also a missed call.

It was from Julian Sterling.

’He really is...’

’...relentless.’

’How had Evelyn Grant never realized before that Julian Sterling could be so... shameless?’

She had thought that after their divorce, he would be even more eager than her to cut ties and never see her again!

But who would have thought!

Even after she had made things so perfectly clear, he was still contacting her, still calling her.

Evelyn Grant was speechless.

She had no intention of calling Julian Sterling back, mainly because she didn’t want to get tangled up with him again.

Just as she was about to tell Ryan Sterling that she was leaving work soon, the envelope caught her eye.

She tore open the envelope while texting a reply on her phone.

Inside were several handwritten pages.

Evelyn Grant recognized her own handwriting before she even fully unfolded the pages.

She also guessed what they contained.

They were the letters she had once written to Julian Sterling.

If she wasn’t mistaken, the person who had delivered this to the firm was either Julian Sterling himself or someone he’d sent.

Evelyn Grant lowered her gaze, smoothing out the letters and setting them down neatly.

Although there was no future for her and Julian Sterling, the feelings she’d poured into them back then had been real.

She didn’t want to completely write off the past just because the relationship had failed.

Those experiences were a part of her life.

Evelyn Grant believed that only by acknowledging her past could she move forward, understand her mistakes, and know where she needed to grow.

Another message from Ryan Sterling popped up on her phone.

"Lately, if my brother contacts you, don’t listen to anything he says!"

Evelyn Grant didn’t think anything of it, assuming it was just Ryan Sterling not wanting her to be in contact with Julian Sterling.

She pursed her lips and replied, "We’re already divorced, so I won’t have anything more to do with him. The only reason I saw him before was because he went to my mom, and I couldn’t tell her about the divorce in front of her. I was afraid her heart couldn’t take it."

"I know, but if he messages you in the next few days, don’t reply. Tell me immediately."

Evelyn Grant arched an eyebrow. "Okay."

Putting her phone away, she tidied up her desk and prepared to leave for the day.

As she stepped out of her office, she saw Mr. Shaw on the phone with someone.

"Rest assured, I will absolutely look after her at all times. I won’t let anything happen to her!"

"It’s my duty, I’m well aware of that! What happened last time won’t happen again. I won’t be letting just anyone get near her lately, either!"

It was strange for Evelyn Grant to see her direct supervisor acting so deferential.
