"Evelyn’s heart belongs only to me. Are you really going to meddle in this?"

He even tried to speak several times but couldn’t find any fitting words to reprimand his younger brother.

Julian Sterling had never even dared to imagine such a thing, let alone know how to handle it.

But the one thing he was sure of was that Evelyn Grant could not be with Ryan Sterling!

’No, it was that Evelyn Grant could not be with anyone other than him!’

"I don’t need anyone to judge whether I’m right or wrong. If I believe I’m right, then I am! I came here to warn you: don’t you dare entertain any more ideas about Evelyn Grant. If you try any funny business again, don’t blame me, your younger brother, for turning on you."

After he finished speaking, he turned to leave.

Suddenly, Julian caught up to Ryan from behind and viciously returned the punch he’d taken earlier!

"You’re trying to steal your sister-in-law. How can you do this to me? Don’t forget, how many times did you get into trouble when we were kids, and I was the one who covered for you! And every time you got sick while Mom and Dad were busy abroad, wasn’t I the one who stayed up all night with you? We’re blood brothers! Are you going to cut ties with me over a woman?"

In the past, the Sterling parents were abroad doing business year-round, leaving their two children behind in the country.

Although they had nannies and drivers at home, the two brothers only had each other as family.

Julian Sterling, as the older brother, naturally took on the role of a father figure, caring for and doting on his little brother.

Back then, Ryan Sterling’s health was poor. He often had colds and fevers. On top of that, he was a germaphobe and wouldn’t let anyone get close. If an unfamiliar person so much as touched him, he would sulk, so only Julian Sterling could take care of him personally.

If it weren’t for Evelyn Grant, Julian would have always felt that he and his brother were especially close! Even though he wasn’t in the country, blood ties could never be severed.

He wouldn’t have even hesitated for a second to nod in agreement if his brother had one day announced his return to the country and asked to work at the Sterling Corporation, unafraid of any dispute over the family fortune!

’But now... how did it come to this?’

"What I owe you, I’ll pay it back. It has nothing to do with Evelyn Grant! She didn’t do anything wrong; her only mistake was falling head over heels for you. You framed her because of Jane Jacobs and were even ready to see her sentenced to death. How could I possibly believe you’d treat her well now?"

Ryan Sterling’s face was now marred as well, the metallic taste of blood slowly spreading in his mouth from the corner of his lip.

But he had no regrets.

When it came to loving Evelyn Grant, Ryan Sterling had long been prepared for anything.

It didn’t matter if no one understood, or even if Evelyn Grant herself was ungrateful.

He just needed to be true to his own heart. That was enough.

"After we get remarried, I’ll treat her well! Jane is already dead. What are you still worried about?"

"Do you really think you two still have a future? Big Brother, I warned you. You were the one who was adamant that you hadn’t wronged her!"
