"I haven’t lost any weight! Mom, I’ve got a lot of work today, so I’ll probably be late getting off. How about tomorrow instead?"

Evelyn Grant already felt bad for taking time off to see someone off at the airport. If she left on time and pushed her work to the next day, she felt that would be really unprofessional.

"So what if you’re a little late? Your brother has extra evening classes recently, so he’s not home either. It’s just me here all alone. It’ll be nice to have you back to keep me company."

[My brother went back to the office. He’s not at your mom’s place.]

’So he had someone check on Julian Sterling’s whereabouts...’
