I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant
Chapter 134: The Person He Yearns For
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: The Person He Yearns For
Ryan Sterling drove Evelyn Grant back to their place. Evelyn had a heavy workload and was pregnant, so she was easily exhausted. After they got home, she washed up and went straight to bed.
He waited until he heard the sound of Evelyn’s steady breathing, then quietly slipped out of the master bedroom.
Once in the study, Ryan Sterling sat down and remained silent for a long while before finally pressing the power button on his computer.
He had just promised Evelyn that he would go and focus on his own work.
But he hadn’t actually made up his mind to leave the country.
After all...
With Julian Sterling around, Ryan couldn’t rest easy.
But after hearing everything Evelyn had said, he suddenly felt that he had been guarding her with a paranoia that saw threats around every corner.
’How can I live a normal life with her like this?’
Taking a deep breath, Ryan sent a message to his secretary.
"We can finalize a time to meet about the collaboration."
His secretary replied almost immediately.
"Understood, Mr. Sterling! Around when can you be back?"
"Book my flight for tomorrow."
After making this decision, Ryan suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.
It wasn’t because he could finally get back to work, but...
’...because I realized Evelyn is thinking of me now! She’s actually planning a future for us.’
’Doesn’t this prove that Evelyn really wants to have a future with me?’
Ryan didn’t care about anything else. What he cared about most was that Evelyn was actually talking to him about "the future."
That word alone made Ryan overjoyed.
He was even starting to picture it now: a family of three with him, Evelyn, and their child!
No one could possibly understand the excitement stirring in Ryan’s heart at that moment!
Back when Evelyn had said she was going to marry Julian Sterling, Ryan had truly believed that he and Evelyn would never have a chance together again.
She was marrying his own brother, and she had even said with her own mouth that she liked him.
Even if Ryan had wanted to fight for her, he had to consider Evelyn’s feelings. She was the woman he’d yearned for. If her greatest wish was to marry Julian Sterling, what could he do but step aside for his brother?
No matter how much he hated it, how much he resisted the idea, he had to pretend to give them his blessing.
And now, somehow, everything had come back to him.
’What Julian had, I can actually have too!’
’How could I have ever dared to imagine this?’
’I wouldn’t have dared, not even in my wildest dreams!’
As Ryan lost himself in thought, the corners of his lips curled into a smile that wouldn’t fade, as if he were afraid this was all just a dream.
...
Evelyn slept soundly that night.
When she woke up, the fragrant aroma of congee was already drifting in from the kitchen.
’Suddenly, I’m a little sad that Ryan is leaving! Once he’s gone, I won’t be able to smell this anymore.’
"You’re awake?"
The moment Ryan saw her emerge from the bedroom, he immediately walked over.
"Mhm." Evelyn smiled. "What time do you wake up every day? I can’t even imagine how early you must get up to make the congee this fragrant."
"You like it?"
"I love it! I’ve never had congee this fragrant before."
Ryan pulled out a chair for her and set the breakfast down in front of her.
This was Ryan Sterling, after all.
Countless women hoped to meet him, to earn even a single glance, and yet here he was, waiting on one woman.
His every emotion stirred by her smiles and frowns.
"Then after I leave, I’ll have someone bring you congee every day."
Evelyn was taken aback. "Huh? You don’t have to do that! I can make my own breakfast. Stop treating me like a child!"
