It was nothing more than Julian Sterling not being used to life without Evelyn Grant’s constant, devoted care!

"But even if you don’t back down now, Eve has a boyfriend—she’s not with you, either! If you withdraw, then we’ll just have to see if your brother has what it takes to win Eve back!" Florence Morgan’s focus was now completely different from Ryan Sterling’s.

"You!" Florence Morgan choked on her anger. "Are you trying to kill me with rage? I’ve already told you that Eve has a boyfriend! It has nothing to do with you. You don’t even have a chance, so why are you still lost in this wishful thinking?"

"Am I the one who’s indulging in wishful thinking, or is my brother? After doing something that hurt Evelyn Grant so badly, he still wants to remarry her? You’re a woman too. Put yourself in her shoes. If Dad did something like that, could you forgive him?"

You’d probably be disgusted just by the thought of seeing him again!

"Search your conscience. If even you couldn’t accept it, how can you expect Evelyn Grant to accept it? What makes you think she could?"

We’re all human. No one is a fool, and everyone has a heart that can be broken.

Especially Evelyn Grant. Everything she sacrificed for Julian Sterling was there for all to see!

"Mom, stop making excuses for my brother. It’s useless! If he were willing to listen to you, he would have done so ages ago. Would he have sent his own wife to prison? Then I would have had no reason to come back and compete with him for Evelyn Grant!"

"I know you’re thinking about covering this up, keeping people from finding out, stopping them from mocking the Sterling Family behind our backs, and keeping them from gossiping about us! But my brother did what he did. He’s an adult, and he has to be responsible for his own actions! Nobody can save him."

Ryan Sterling had spoken his mind to the fullest today.

He hoped his mother would understand.

"SIGH... Ryan, tell me, what can I do now? What am I supposed to do? Your brother... he’s been completely out of sorts all day. There’s no telling what he might do! I’m his mother; I’m really and truly terrified!"

"My brother has run out of options, so his last resort is to come and force you to get involved," Ryan Sterling stated, seeing right through it. "If you continue to meddle, you’ll only end up alienating Evelyn Grant, too."
