I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant
Chapter 117: Don’t Push Me Into a Corner
Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Don’t Push Me Into a Corner
"You! You think just because you’re rich, you know that’s what Evelyn Grant wants?"
"I don’t know if Evelyn Grant wants my fortune, but I know for sure she doesn’t want you!"
Julian Sterling was about to lose his mind with rage.
The fact that *he* was the one by Evelyn Grant’s side made Julian feel utterly powerless. If it had been anyone else, he could have just forced Evelyn to stay with him. Julian wouldn’t have cared who the person was or what their status might be; he would have acted without a second thought.
But Ryan Sterling...
His status meant Julian Sterling couldn’t openly turn hostile, much less make a move on Evelyn Grant by force.
’My last plan... if Ryan Sterling hadn’t been there, I would have succeeded so easily!’
"Ryan, don’t back me into a corner! I just want to remarry Evelyn Grant. If you just step aside and don’t compete with me for her, then whatever you want in the future, I’ll owe you a favor. I’ll do everything in my power to help you! How about it?"
"Brother, I feel there’s nothing more for us to discuss on this matter. I want Evelyn Grant, and there’s nothing you can offer that would make me give her up. Stop thinking about it, and don’t even attempt to negotiate with me."
Julian Sterling took a deep breath and pulled his car over to the side of the road.
He was afraid the rage would give him chest pains while he was still driving!
"I need to see Evelyn Grant. Whether she wants to remarry me or not, I have the right to see her! Are you planning to make sure I can never see her again?"
"If you want to see her, then find her yourself. It’s up to Evelyn Grant whether she wants to see you. I won’t interfere, and I can’t."
Julian Sterling grit his teeth. "If you weren’t standing in my way, I’d find her in a heartbeat! And Evelyn Grant definitely wants to see me!"
"If she wants to see you, then why isn’t she answering your calls or replying to your messages?"
"..."
"Brother, just give up. She’ll never be yours again."
The line went dead. Julian Sterling tried calling again, but this time, no one answered.
Furious, he violently threw his phone!
The phone instantly shattered into pieces, proof of just how much force Julian Sterling had used...
And yet, at this moment, he was at his wit’s end!
That was what Julian Sterling found most impossible to accept.
He had tried so many different approaches, one after another, yet not a single one had worked!
As he realized that at this rate, there would truly be no more hope for him and Evelyn Grant, Julian Sterling’s desperation burned even hotter.
He irritably lit a cigarette. He took a few drags, but it did nothing to ease his anxiety. In fact, the feeling of loss only grew heavier!
Watching the traffic come and go on the road before him, Julian Sterling felt like he could stay there forever—sitting, standing, it didn’t matter. Anything was better than going home.
’That place is filled with memories of Evelyn Grant. What am I supposed to do?’
Julian Sterling stood there like that, not moving until the late-night wind scraped painfully across his face. Only then did he get back into his car.
He drove back to his place. The moment he opened the door, he didn’t even make a sound before tears began to fall.
He slowly walked over to the sofa alone. He didn’t sit down. Instead, his gaze fell to the coffee table, to the fruit bowl Evelyn Grant had once bought. His dark eyes seemed to grow deeper.
’That fruit bowl used to be filled with fresh, washed fruit, waiting for me when I got home from work.’
’Then I’d look up at the kitchen, at the fridge... everywhere, I see traces of how Evelyn used to take care of me!’
"How... could I have only realized this now..."
’If only I had realized sooner...’
