Julian Sterling, left speechless by the retort, could only change the subject.

"So you’re really willing to throw the entire Sterling family into chaos for Evelyn Grant? Have you even considered how Mom and Dad will react when they find out?"

"As long as Evelyn and I can be together, I don’t care about any of that."

"I think you’ve really lost your mind!" Julian slammed a fist on his steering wheel. "You’re insane. You’re actually in love with your own sister-in-law. How did I never see it before!"

"You didn’t see it because your mind was never on Evelyn. Otherwise, I was being obvious enough."

But back then, Julian couldn’t have cared less about Evelyn.

So whether anyone else had their eye on Evelyn was the last thing on Julian’s mind.

"So you’re dead set on getting tangled up with Evelyn, is that it?"

"Yes," Ryan admitted without hesitation.

"Aren’t you afraid I’ll show her the text messages between you and our mom? I’m telling you, if you back out now, I can keep this from Evelyn. I’ll never say a word, so her impression of you won’t be ruined. But if you insist on meddling in our marriage, then don’t blame me for what happens next!"

Julian was now willing to resort to anything.

After all, getting Evelyn back was now his single greatest objective.

"Regarding that matter, I believe you know the situation better than I do, brother."

"Are you willing to bet on whether Evelyn will believe you?"

Ryan smiled.

"She’ll believe me."

Just as he had once believed in her without a moment’s hesitation.

"Then why are you stopping me from seeing Evelyn? It’s because you’re not confident, isn’t it?"

"Because there’s no longer any reason for you to see her! Brother, you two are already divorced."

Regardless of the text messages, Ryan had no intention of letting him see Evelyn again.

’After all, whatever happened between them, Evelyn is legally my wife now! And the child she’s carrying is mine, too. So, I have every right to forbid Julian from seeing Evelyn.’

"Besides, Evelyn doesn’t want to see you at all! If she wanted to see you, do you really think I could stop her?"

Ryan was only preventing Julian from getting near Evelyn; he hadn’t interfered in the slightest with Evelyn’s ability to contact Julian.

If she wanted to, she could.

But Evelyn didn’t want to.

"She’s just angry with me right now! She won’t stay angry forever!"

"Brother, how long are you going to keep lying to yourself? Think about it. In the past, with the way you treated Evelyn, she was unhappy at times, but did she ever refuse to answer your calls? Did she ever completely ignore you?"

"If you want to test it, go ahead. Send Evelyn a message right now. Tell her you’re sick and see if she rushes to your side to take care of you like she used to."

But that wasn’t enough for Ryan. He continued, "Or, wait until she’s with me. I’ll record a video for you so you can see with your own eyes how she reacts after you send the message!"

Ryan didn’t like fighting with his brother like this.

But with Julian refusing to back down, he had no other choice.

If Julian would just know when to quit, it would save Ryan a lot of trouble.

"How long have you even been with Evelyn? I don’t believe she could actually fall in love with you! She’s not that kind of person!"

Julian believed Evelyn was still angry, but he refused to believe she could fall in love with Ryan.
