Chapter 440: SVOP: Chapter 440
"Calling yourselves the New "Calling yourselves the New Generation Big Mom Pirates... I’m curious to see exactly how ’new’ you really are."
They sailed in silence for several hours before both ships arrived at the port of Whole Cake Island.
Nine years had passed. The island, once completely frozen over, had returned to its original state.
The air was thick with the sweet scent of desserts, and many buildings were shaped like cakes, candies, or other sweets — structures that could actually be eaten.
Vladimir followed Eve onto the island. Charlotte Gene assumed he was just a ferocious beast raised by the Lycan Pirates, so he asked no questions.
Vladimir was happy to be left alone.
Soon, they arrived at the Charlotte family’s main stronghold. Inside a magnificent, opulent palace, Vladimir saw Charlotte Linlin seated high upon her throne.
Compared to nine years ago, she hadn’t changed much — except for one striking difference: her eyes.
Over her right eye, she wore a skull-patterned eyepatch. That eye was clearly gone; she had been blinded.
"Hmm..."
Vladimir let out a soft sound of surprise, speaking up with obvious curiosity. "Interesting! Who managed to blind you in one eye?"
His sudden words stunned everyone present, from both crews.
Instantly, a woman in courtly robes standing beside Charlotte Linlin snapped at him furiously.
"Insolent! How dare you speak to Mama in such a manner!"
Vladimir simply curled his lip and roared.
ROAR!
In an instant, the terrifying majesty of a divine beast crushed down upon her.
"Back off! You mere human... dare you shout at me?!"
With that bellow, Vladimir released the full pressure of a divine beast, sweeping across the hall.
The woman in the court dress instantly turned pale, a flash of pure terror in her eyes.
In her vision, Raikou’s figure had swelled to colossal proportions — so large that she felt he could crush her to death simply by lowering a single paw.
"Y-you...!" She stared fixedly at him, instinctively taking half a step back.
Her courage had completely crumbled; she dared not utter another word.
By now, the others had recovered from the shock, and they all looked at Vladimir with hostility and wariness.
Charlotte Linlin waved her hand dismissively. "Since when did that rascal Lane raise such a ferocious monster?"
"Well..." Eve glanced at Vladimir, opening her mouth, trying to figure out how to explain his presence.
But before she could speak, Vladimir interrupted.
"Charlotte Linlin — watch your words. I am no ferocious beast. I am a Divine Beast."
"You... dare to call Mama by her name?!" a member of the Big Mom Pirates shouted, glaring at him.
"Wait..."
Charlotte Linlin frowned deeply, her remaining eye narrowing in suspicion.
This tone... this way of speaking... it was eerily similar to a group of ruthless people she remembered from the past.
But those people had vanished nine years ago. It was impossible for them to return now.
"Hehehehe... A talking tiger that calls itself a divine beast... how amusing."
She grinned, shifting her gaze to Eve. "Why have you come here?"
"Emperor Charlotte Linlin," Eve wiped the cold sweat from her brow and quickly took out an Audio Shell, handing it over.
"By order of our First Mate, the Lycan Pirates have come to deliver this to you."
She shot Vladimir a sharp look — completely baffled. Did this tiger have any idea what being an Emperor meant?
"An Audio Shell?"
Charlotte Linlin took the white shell from a subordinate, pressed the button, and held it to her ear.
The voice from the shell was soft, yet unlike ordinary shells, it automatically amplified the sound.
As she listened, her expression shifted — from initial surprise to rising anger.
Suddenly... BAM!
The Audio Shell exploded violently, shaking the hall and making everyone’s hearts skip a beat.
Everyone froze — including Eve and all the Lycan Pirates. They stood motionless, stunned into silence.
Only Vladimir paused briefly before chuckling in amusement.
That First Mate of the Beast King Pirates certainly knew how to play tricks. He had set the shell to self-destruct after playing once.
"Mama!"
"I’m fine!"
Charlotte Linlin’s face darkened, her eyes brimming with killing intent as she locked onto Eve.
"Excellent! Lane has truly outdone himself with this ’gift’! None of you are leaving here alive!"
She had already been furious after hearing the message.
To think the Beast King Pirates would stoop to such childish pranks — blowing up the shell just to humiliate her, serving no purpose whatsoever.
That settled it. Charlotte Linlin had decided to kill them all.
"All of you... give me your souls!"
She roared and thrust her right palm forward.
From this distance, a physical strike could never reach Eve. But as her hand grasped at the air, dark, shadowy substances formed — pure soul matter — shooting out to grab them from afar.
Eve’s heart sank. She couldn’t understand what the First Mate was planning. Why send them on such a mission?
If the whole point was just to provoke Big Mom, then the Lycan Pirates had been used as nothing more than cannon fodder.
"We’re finished... Enraged an Emperor, and right in her own territory..."
Eve’s mind raced as her body instantly began to transform.nration Big Mom Pirates... I’m curious to see exactly how ’new’ you really are."
