I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 747: Simpler Than Killing a Chicken
"Hmph. It was them, and the Xianyue Sect! A minor sect, recklessly killing people right here in Nanyuan. Their arrogance is unbelievable. If we don’t eradicate them, what will become of the imperial family’s authority?" Old Prince Feng pointed at Ye Qianning.
On his way here, Sun Shiming had only heard from the guard who’d summoned him that the Old Prince wanted to take over the Immortal Sea Building for a birthday banquet. Now, it seemed that wasn’t the case at all.
His gaze swept across the hall. When it fell upon the man beside Ye Qianning, his heart jolted. The man’s aura was extraordinary and his looks were peerless. ’He is clearly a man of high status.’
Members of the Xianyue Sect had surrounded the entire first floor, and Luo Feng was standing respectfully by her side...
Sun Shiming knew of Ye Qianning. She had come ashore at the port a month ago and had quickly become quite famous in the city. Though she looked unassuming, she was anything but ordinary.
Recently, many powerful people of unknown origin had arrived in Dayu City, and they all seemed to have a good relationship with this Miss Ye.
’This is going to be difficult!’
"Is someone causing you trouble?" Sang Zhi’s magnetic voice regained some of its usual laziness.
"Mm, you could say that."
Sang Zhi turned his head slightly, his red pupils burning with a fiendish, arrogant light as he gazed at the crowd.
His gaze was that of a man looking down on ants.
"Just kill them all." His voice was soft and pleasant.
Yet it sent a chill down the spine of everyone present, making their hair stand on end.
Ye Qianning froze, looking up at him. ’When he was little, he didn’t even have the guts to kill a chicken. But now... he makes it sound easier than that.’
"What is it?" Sang Zhi looked down at her.
"Killing people is wrong."
Sang Zhi thought for a moment, then smiled. "Then we won’t kill them."
That smile made Ye Qianning stare. ’This boy has changed more than just a little. His body is brimming with immense Inner Strength. When did he start learning martial arts?’
’I have so many questions, but I need to deal with this first. I’ll ask him everything later.’
"Lord... Lord Sun, did you hear that? These people have no regard for the law! What are you standing around for? Have them arrested!" Old Prince Feng had never met anyone so brazen.
"Calm yourself, Your Highness. Please, calm yourself." Lord Sun tried to placate the old prince.
"Get out of my way! Men, arrest them all!" Old Prince Feng shoved him aside.
The guards drew their swords and started to move forward.
"Hold on, hold on!" Sun Shiming cried out, stopping them.
"Sun Shiming, do you dare defy my orders?"
"Your Highness, please calm down. I wouldn’t dare. But I do believe that harmony brings wealth." Sun Shiming was a shrewd man. He knew better than to make a move.
"What did you say?" Old Prince Feng was so furious he looked ready to tear the man’s head off.
"Your Highness, please calm down. Let’s go upstairs for a cup of tea and cool off," Sun Shiming said, pulling Old Prince Feng toward the stairs.
"Get off me! I already told you..."
"Your Highness, please, go upstairs and rest. I promise I will give you a satisfactory resolution to this matter." Sun Shiming half-pulled, half-dragged Old Prince Feng up the stairs.
Old Prince Feng was fuming.
Everyone watched the City Lord help the old prince upstairs. Once they were gone, the crowd just stared at each other in bewilderment.
"Is it over?" Sang Zhi asked.
"Not necessarily."
"How troublesome," Sang Zhi said, his voice laced with displeasure.
"If you don’t like it, you can head up first. I still have a few things to take care of. I’ll be up..."
Before Ye Qianning could finish, she was pulled into his arms again.
"I want to stay with you," Sang Zhi said, holding her tightly, as if afraid she might disappear.
"We’re in public! Can you show a little restraint? Were all those lessons from the sages for nothing?" ’Didn’t he used to be the one who was so obsessed with propriety between men and women?’
’He was always going on about rules and decorum.’
"They were useless."
"Hm?"
