Chapter 710: If Not Her, Then Who? You?

"How dare you make me... Oof!" Before Huo Liran could finish her sentence, a waiter rushed over and shoved her, making her stagger.

Huo Tu and his men were also pushed back toward the door.

"You think you own this place? Who do you think you’re scowling at? I wouldn’t serve scum like you even if you were rich. Get lost!" The Shopkeeper’s temper flared.

The Huo family was half-pushed, half-dragged out the door.

The Shopkeeper spat. "What a disgrace!"

Pushed out the door, Huo Liran stumbled forward a few steps.

"Miss, are you alright?" Ma Liu caught her.

Huo Tu steadied himself, his gaze dark as he stared at the Shopkeeper. ’For such a small inn to be so arrogant... Is there no law in Dayu City?’

"Second Master, should we..." Ma Liu’s expression turned vicious.

Huo Tu waved his hand dismissively. "Old Prince Feng is in the city. We should try to avoid making a scene."

"So... we’re just going to let it go?"

"We’ll destroy this inn sooner or later. There’s no rush." Huo Tu had never suffered such humiliation.

"Yes, sir. I’ll keep an eye on this inn."

"Second Uncle, send them all to prison! Make sure they never get out!" Huo Liran was practically choking with rage.

Huo Feng sounded helpless. "I’ve told you before to control your temper, but you just won’t listen."

"Big Brother, how can you blame me? It was obviously that Shopkeeper who went too far! If we were in Qingzhou, I would have already smashed his inn to pieces."

"This isn’t Qingzhou, it’s Dayu City. No one here knows who you are," Huo Feng said, his voice edged with frustration.

"Big Brother... you... Hmph! Second Uncle, look at him! All he does is blame me. If that woman with the surname Ye hadn’t shown up, would any of this have happened?" Huo Liran was filled with aggrieved indignation.

Huo Tu patted her hand. "How’s your hand?"

"It hurts... I still can’t move it. Second Uncle, my hand isn’t going to be ruined, is it?" Huo Liran’s voice trembled, on the verge of tears.

"Nonsense. If anything happens to your hand, your Second Uncle will chop off both of her hands for you."

"Second Uncle, you’re the best to me. Not like Big Brother."

"You brought this on yourself, yet you insist on blaming everyone else." Huo Feng’s brow was so furrowed you could have pinched a fly in it. "Second Uncle, you can’t keep spoiling her like this."

"She’s the only girl in the Huo family. If I don’t dote on her, who should I dote on? You?" Huo Tu raised an eyebrow.

"Second Uncle, if you keep spoiling her, she’ll never learn to tell right from wrong. She’ll only become more arrogant and entitled. What will become of her then?" Huo Feng was exasperated. "This kind of indulgence is only hurting her."

’As a man of high standing, Huo Tu didn’t understand any of this. All he knew was that if anyone bullied his niece, he would make them pay for it twofold. How had his nephew twisted that into harming her?’

"Big Brother, how can you speak to Second Uncle like that?" Huo Liran said with displeasure.

"You... You’ll regret this one day." Huo Feng turned to Huo Tu. "Regardless, it doesn’t matter when Miss Ye came ashore. The directions she gave us were correct. Without her, we would have only strayed further and further off course. She saved our lives. Even if you can’t stand her, you need to tolerate it. I refuse to let the Huo family be known as ungrateful."

The mention of Ye Qianning reminded Huo Tu that he had no intention of letting the matter drop. "To travel thousands of miles at sea in only a few days is unheard of. If the Huo family could harness that kind of speed, wouldn’t it just be a matter of time before we become Nanyuan’s greatest merchant clan?"

"Second Uncle!" Huo Feng’s voice sharpened.

"Feng’er, stay out of this. Your Second Uncle has his own plans." Huo Tu turned and gave an order. "Go. Find out where that woman Ye’s ship is docked. Get on board and search for anything suspicious."

Huo Feng couldn’t get through to them at all. Overwhelmed with frustration, he suddenly understood why the Jiang family hadn’t wanted to travel with them.
