"I’ll smash this inn to pieces," Ma Liu said, rolling up his sleeves.

"Go ahead. I dare you." The Shopkeeper thought to himself, ’These tables and chairs are a few years old now. It’s about time for a new set.’

Ma Liu hadn’t expected to run into such a tough nut. He instinctively glanced at Huo Tu.

"Don’t cause trouble." Huo Tu’s expression was grim.

As if he’d been given an out, Ma Liu snapped at the Shopkeeper, "You’re lucky this time."

"Hah." The Shopkeeper scoffed. ’Coward.’

Huo Tu turned to leave, but before his group could even reach the door, an approaching figure made them all freeze in their tracks.

Ye Qianning had gone out on business early that morning and was only just returning to the Yan Hui Inn in the afternoon.

In the past month, she had gotten a clear picture of recent events in Nanyuan. She had also managed to gather some information on Xi Yan, East Shu, and Beili.

Most importantly, Gu Shuo and her master would be arriving in Dayu City in another five or six days.

’There’s no clear news about Father, Qian Fanji, or Zhan Chi. But they should hurry back for Master’s birthday, right?’

The thought of seeing her master and the others soon had put Ye Qianning in a wonderful mood for the past several days. She had even prepared many gifts for him. It was a good thing her master would be back in time for his birthday celebration.

"Sister Ye? It really is you, Sister Ye!" Jiang Yue, who was standing by the door, spotted her and ran over excitedly.

Ye Qianning wasn’t too surprised to see Jiang Yue. After all, everyone had to disembark in Dayu City.

"Sister Ye, it’s so wonderful to run into you on shore!" Jiang Yue exclaimed as she reached her, her face flushed with excitement.

"What a coincidence," Ye Qianning said with a smile.

A look of delight also crossed Jiang Chenyi’s face when he saw Ye Qianning. He walked over and asked, "Miss Ye, did you just come ashore as well?"

’Just came ashore?’

Ye Qianning’s gaze swept over them, then fell on the Huo family inside the inn. ’So after I left, they were at sea for another month and seven days?’

"Miss Ye, the storm at sea was ferocious. I’ve been worried about you ever since. It’s truly wonderful to see you here," Jiang Chenyi said, unable to hide his delight.

Ye Qianning had no idea what storm he was talking about, so she brushed it off. "Young Master Jiang, Miss Jiang, I’m very tired today. I’m going to go rest. I’ll treat you both to a meal another time."

"Of course, but if anyone’s treating, it should be us," he replied.

"Exactly! Sister Ye, you saved our lives! Another time, at the Immortal Sea Building. It’ll be the Jiang family’s treat," Jiang Yue declared, patting her chest.

"Alright, we’ll arrange it another day then." With that, Ye Qianning headed toward the inn.

Huo Feng was also quite surprised to see Ye Qianning again. The storm at sea half a month ago had been particularly violent; even their large ship had felt like it was about to capsize. Yet her tiny boat had somehow made it through.

’Her seamanship is truly extraordinary.’

As Ye Qianning walked past, Huo Liran stuck out an arm to block her. Her tone was challenging. "The inn’s full. You can get lost."

Without even glancing at her, Ye Qianning flicked her fingers, and a silver needle landed on the wrist blocking her path.

"AHH—!" Huo Liran shrieked, yanking her arm back.

"Liran!" Huo Feng rushed to check on her.

Huo Liran clutched her wrist, glaring venomously at Ye Qianning.

"Miss Ye, you’ve returned," the Shopkeeper called out in welcome from behind the counter.

"Mm."

"Miss Ye, what would you like for dinner? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it and bring it up to you."

"The usual."

"Very good. Please get some rest, Miss Ye."

Ye Qianning went upstairs.

The Shopkeeper watched until her figure disappeared at the top of the stairs before looking away. ’I wonder who this Miss Ye is,’ he mused. ’She’s become quite famous in Dayu City lately, and she spends money so lavishly.’

’Even Guard Luo is incredibly respectful to her, which is a rare sight indeed.’

Witnessing this exchange, Huo Liran’s face turned beet red—whether from pain or humiliation, it was hard to say.
