The streets grew more bustling with each passing day.

All the inns inside Dayu City were completely full. Those who couldn’t book a room could only go to the less crowded areas outside the city to set up tents.

"I can’t believe we’re actually in Dayu City."

"I’d long heard that Dayu City was extraordinarily bustling, but I’d never been here. Now that I see it, it’s even more lively than our Qingzhou."

"Second Brother, try this! It’s delicious."

Jiang Chenyi’s group, who had just disembarked at the port, entered the city. After drifting at sea for several months, they were finally on land.

Jiang Yue excitedly raided the food stalls among the vendors.

"I heard there’s a place in the city called the Immortal Sea Building. If you’re already full, will you still have room for more?" Jiang Chenyi said with a smile.

"If I can’t eat it today, I’ll eat it tomorrow. We were at sea for so long, and we’ve finally made it ashore. We should definitely stay for a while. Besides, Dayu City is so lively." Jiang Yue couldn’t be bothered with such details.

After drifting for several months without a single proper meal, she definitely wouldn’t have made it if Sister Ye hadn’t left her a few boxes of fruit and snacks a month ago.

"How embarrassing."

From behind them, Huo Liran snorted coldly.

"Embarrassing? I wonder which family has people who sneak into the Jiang family’s rooms in the middle of the night to steal fruit." Jiang Yue had never met anyone so shameless.

We were kind enough to split the fruit with them, but after they finished their share, they actually went and stole from others.

"You..."

"Liran, that’s enough," Huo Feng chided.

"Hmph."

Huo Feng said helplessly, "Brother Jiang, our ship needs more supplies, and our crew needs to rest and recuperate. Second Uncle said we’ll be staying in Dayu City for a while."

"That works," Jiang Chenyi nodded.

His gaze swept across their surroundings again. He had noticed it as soon as they disembarked: Dayu City was full of people from other nations, even barbarians and people from Beijiang.

To think that a once-obscure little border town had, in just a few years, become several times more prosperous than Qingzhou.

Boss Gu is truly capable!

"Second Master, the men just found out that the Four-Nation Commercial Conference will be held here in Dayu City soon. They say that our Nanyuan’s Fourth Prince and Old Prince Feng are both in the city."

"Old Prince Feng is in Dayu City too?" Huo Tu’s eyes lit up.

"Yes."

Hearing this, Huo Feng stopped and looked back. ’The Four-Nation Commercial Conference?’

Jiang Chenyi also turned to look. ’No wonder Dayu City is so bustling.’

A look of delight crossed Huo Tu’s face. ’The Four-Nation Commercial Conference, with Old Prince Feng in attendance... it seems the Huo family’s previous efforts were not in vain.’

"Let’s go. Find an inn to stay at, prepare some lavish gifts, and we’ll pay a visit to Old Prince Feng in a couple of days."

"Yes, sir."

"Shopkeeper, can you see if you can squeeze out a few rooms for us? A higher price is no problem."

"Valued guest, it’s not a matter of price. We’ve been out of rooms for ten days now. You’d best look elsewhere," the Shopkeeper said.

"We’ve already been to several inns. Shopkeeper, see if you can be a bit flexible." Huo Tu glanced back and gave a meaningful look.

Seeing this, Ma Liu took two silver ingots from his robes, placed them on the counter, and pushed them toward the Shopkeeper.

The Shopkeeper glanced at the silver, his eyes narrowing into a smile. "Are you gentlemen here to cause trouble? Our Yan Hui Inn has been an established name in Dayu City for years. Our prices are fair to young and old alike. No matter how much money you offer, no rooms means no rooms."

"..."

"..."

’A few years? And he calls it an established name?’

Huo Tu hadn’t expected it to be so difficult to find lodging in Dayu City. Hearing the Shopkeeper’s words, his expression darkened.

"Don’t refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit." Ma Liu was used to throwing his weight around in Qingzhou.

It was the first time the Shopkeeper had encountered something so... novel. He set down the account book in his hands, somewhat curious. "Tell me, how exactly does one ’drink a forfeit’?"
