I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 678: Eye of the Storm in the Rashamon Sea Area
In the water, a giant sea fish opened its mouth, baring a row of sharp teeth as it sank them into its opponent.
In the blink of an eye, the surrounding seawater gradually turned crimson. The scent of blood at sea would attract sharks, and the sharks in this particular area were massive, ferocious, and numerous.
Ye Qianning calmly watched the two behemoths fight to the death. It was, at the very least, a way to relieve the boredom.
THUD.
A chunk of the vanquished fish was tossed onto the deck, causing the entire boat to dip suddenly and sink lower in the water.
"I’m not eating that. You can have it," Ye Qianning said, reaching out to pat the victor.
The enormous fish poked its head out of the water. It opened its mouth—a gaping, black maw that could swallow a whole ox in one bite.
Ye Qianning could see clearly that it even had teeth deep in its throat. ’Tsk, tsk. If this were on land, its open mouth would look just like a dark cave.’
The fish seemed very excited, continuously making a sound from its mouth that sounded a bit like a large goose honking.
Seeing this, Ye Qianning turned and grabbed the fish tail on the deck with one hand. Focusing her Inner Strength, she gave it a mighty heave, sending the massive tail flying toward the black maw.
GULP.
The big fish snapped its mouth shut and thrashed about in the water, completely satisfied.
"Alright, you can go back now," Ye Qianning said with a smile.
The great fish somersaulted once before diving into the sea, leaving a trail of ripples on the surface.
Ye Qianning had spent plenty of time playing in this part of the sea before, so she had made a few friends and could communicate with them effortlessly. However, ever since her severe injury, she had been very cautious about using her special ability.
Only when her spatial energy was stable and her body was in excellent condition would she occasionally try to listen to the voices of all living things.
A wind picked up over the sea, and the water’s surface gradually grew choppy.
Ye Qianning gazed into the distance. The sun was about to set. In another two to four hours, she would reach the Rashamon Sea Area. Beyond that was the eye of the storm.
The old Taoist had said the eye of the storm would be calm, but he hadn’t said for how long. She still had to be careful.
The waters of the Rashamon Sea Area were pitch-black at a glance. Anyone with a fear of the deep sea would likely faint from the sight alone.
The water was inky black, like a colossal, bottomless abyss.
This area of the sea had an overlord—an extremely ferocious, mutated beast from the deep sea. It was nearly thirty meters long and of incalculable weight, with a massive, round, and incredibly hard crest on its head.
CHURN... SPLASH...
The surface of the sea suddenly began to churn violently. The small boat rocked back and forth, and as it neared the eye of the storm, the wind and waves continually blew it off course.
Ye Qianning gripped the railing. The wind and waves grew stronger, making it impossible for the boat to sail properly. At this point, the small vessel was being pushed along entirely by the wind.
The wind howled ever stronger, and the sky over the Rashamon Sea Area darkened.
Fat drops of rain began to pour down.
Ye Qianning steadied herself, her gaze fixed on a rapidly forming waterspout not far away. It was materializing with incredible speed, and the wind was pushing her boat directly toward it.
If the boat entered the waterspout’s vortex, it would surely be torn to pieces.
’This can’t go on.’
Ye Qianning turned to look at the deep sea. She would be fine if she jumped in, but without a boat... ’Without a boat, how in the world would I ever reach shore?’
She raised a hand, pulled a jade whistle from her storage space, and placed it to her lips. The whistle’s call echoed across the area, its sound loud and infused with her Inner Strength, spreading out like a radio wave.
WHOOSH... SPLASH...
After a violent lurch, the boat, which had been pushed by the wind, suddenly came to a stop. Then, with a great WHOOSH, the entire vessel was lifted out of the water.
"Dapao."
Ye Qianning looked down from the boat, her face alight with joy.
