I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means
Chapter 1959 - 1052: Crisis
Chapter 1959: Chapter 1052: Crisis
Jonas City,
Cole and Nelson wasted no time, quickly arriving at the alley where Yor disappeared.
Contrary to their previous imaginations, this alley wasn’t far from Yor’s residence and seemed quite ordinary without any anomalies.
Not to mention traces of battle, there were no unusual signs left behind.
Cole and Nelson searched for half a day but found no valuable clues.
They even used various investigation magic, but none were useful.
Cole stood at the entrance of the alley, where Yor had paused.
As Cole turned his head, he could easily see into the depth of the alley to where it turned.
Nelson also stood beside Cole, looking toward the location of the alley.
The main roads of Jonas City were paved with blue-gray stone bricks, while the alley was made of dark gray bricks, appearing to have quite some age.
The tall buildings on both sides blocked the sunlight, casting a gloomy aura over the alley.
"I’ve passed by this road a few times, but never paid attention to this alley."
Cole murmured to himself.
Upon hearing this, Nelson glanced at Cole and then said:
"Although I haven’t been here before, it seems like there’s nothing wrong with this alley."
"Earlier, both of us went in, and we found neither battle traces nor residual magical fluctuations."
"Most importantly, Lord Black Cat’s record showed that Yor took the initiative to enter this alley."
"So, did Yor notice something abnormal and voluntarily enter this alley at the time?"
Cole didn’t catch Nelson’s peculiar tone and continued to reminisce.
"But at the time, Yor did not contact us, nor did he alert the city’s Magic Guard, suggesting it wasn’t anything major."
Nelson went deeper into the alley, examining the marks on the surrounding walls.
Apart from some black marks from years of flowing water, Nelson found nothing else.
"The most important thing is, why did Yor suddenly leave here?"
Cole walked deeper into the alley, carefully observing the surroundings.
Yor’s light point vanished directly in Jonas City, indicating it was not a normal situation.
This couldn’t be due to a direct disruption of Yor’s Communication Path.
If the members’ Communication Tools, which serve as their identification, were directly destroyed, Lord Black Cat would be alerted.
Yor’s situation was somewhat similar to those who left the perception range of Lord Black Cat, or the Mage Tower of the Source of All Magic.
The only somewhat similar scenario is when mages use Space Transmission to leave Jonas City.
However, Cole also didn’t detect any similar magical fluctuations.
So, what exactly happened?
Was it, apart from Space Transmission, a misstep into a Space Fragment, a multidimensional plane maze, or some other situation?
Cole and Nelson did not give up and meticulously searched for any possibilities.
As Nelson and Cole were pondering, Cole’s peripheral vision suddenly caught a motion on the side.
It was the wall beside the alley, where shadows cast by the eaves of nearby houses danced.
At this moment, Cole seemed to see those shadows slightly trembled.
"Hmm?"
Cole voiced his surprise.
No matter how closely Cole observed now, he couldn’t detect any further movements of the shadows.
"Did something happen?"
Noticing Cole’s anomaly, Nelson inquired.
"I just... seemed to see the shadow here move a bit?"
Cole hesitantly explained.
"The shadow... moved?"
Nelson was also taken aback.
"Was it an effect of the wind or the clouds?"
"It doesn’t seem like that, maybe I was seeing things..."
Cole carefully examined the situation here.
At that moment, a figure suddenly appeared before them.
Cole and Nelson noticed his appearance and promptly greeted:
"Hello, under the crown Stephens."
"Hmm."
Stephens nodded and then looked at Cole, saying:
"You are Lis’s apprentice, not bad."
Stephens could sense the active Space Power around Cole, representing his current level of control over Space Power.
And Cole’s current mastery of Space Power had surpassed many Golden Mages.
"It’s all thanks to teacher Lis’s help."
Cole cautiously responded with respect.
He naturally recognized the association’s second chairman.
Moreover, this person was also teacher Lis’s mentor, strictly his elder.
Additionally, Stephens’s strength was quite formidable, far surpassing an ordinary Legendary Member.
However, upon meeting Stephens, Cole’s mood didn’t lighten; it even slightly sank.
If even Stephens was present, it was undoubtedly not a simple matter.
Cole didn’t believe ordinary matters could alarm Stephens.
"Alright, you should leave here now and wait outside."
Stephens glanced at Cole and Nelson and nodded, saying.
Cole and Nelson naturally would not say much, preparing to wait outside the alley.
They trusted the chairman’s ability to discern issues far better than they could.
"Go on, I’ll let you know."
Lord Black Cat made a small leap from Stephens’s shoulder to Cole’s head.
