Victor spent ten years becoming the world's best player of a dead, forgotten game. It ended up costing him his health, his dignity, and the only woman who ever pretended to love him.

Then the sun literally fell out of the sky, and it turned out that decade of “wasted” gaming was actually a job application.

Now he's trapped in the body of a barbarian warrior in a world made of everything that game's nightmares were built from. We talking monsters that turn men into paste, a culture that executes cowards, and a status screen that gave him exactly zero cheats, zero relics, and zero ways to log out.

What it did give him is a memory that knows exactly how everyone in this story is supposed to die.

Including him.

Victor's only advantages are a decade of game knowledge nobody else has, and the fact that he is, distressingly, still the same horny disaster of a man he was in his old body.

He'd like to survive the game’s apocalypse. He'd also very much like his brooding, scar-covered, sword-wielding almost-sister-in-law to notice he exists.

One of these goals is going to get him killed. Possibly both.
