I Aggressively Stack Steel of the Heart in the Knight Order
Chapter 248 - 213: Kles’s Conspiracy, an Intelligence War Without Gunsmoke
If Reinhardt alone was enough to make them wary, then after they recognized that ring, the Witch’s expression turned utterly foul.
"It’s actually you..."
At that moment, to Dane’s utter shock, the pale-haired Judge gripped the hilt of the greatsword on his back. A copious amount of blood seeped from his skin, clinging to the blade like viscous spider silk and transforming it into a colossal, unparalleled greatsword of blood.
A bizarre Knightly Aura emanated from him.
It was as if countless souls were screaming and roaring within it.
The powers of the Void Realm Four Gods, Great Demons, and Ancient Wizards were all mixed together. There was even a trace of Radiant Power, flowing intermittently from his Knightly Aura like the sun fighting for the sky against dark clouds.
It was also at this moment that Dane finally realized who this visiting Judge was.
He was the most notorious Judge in the Ash Soil Star Zone, one whose name would make even Demons weep in fear: "Undead" Robbie Hiling.
The Knight Lord under Kles’s command was equally shocked.
Against Reinhardt alone, they might have had a chance. But add in the infamous Undead Robie—that complete and utter madman from the Ash Soil Star Zone, loathed by all—and it was a different story.
Forget winning the battle; just escaping would likely be a difficult feat.
However, they had been hiding in the Hurst Golden Capital for three years, and their ultimate goal was never to help Dane seize control of the Capet Dynasty. From the very beginning, Grand Lord Kles’s objective had been to throw this world’s order into chaos.
Or rather, to dismantle the seigniorage settlement system that the Imperial Administrative Region had built relying on the Capet Dynasty.
They didn’t even need to destroy this world. They only had to stall the economic development of the Imperial Administrative Region for a period of time—ten years... five years, or even just three.
For them, that would be enough to achieve their strategic objective.
They didn’t know what Grand Governor Sedon was secretly planning, but they were certain that the Administrative Region was currently in the midst of a massive transformation.
But, no matter what kind of transformation it was, or how many people gave their all for it—even at the cost of their lives—without financial support, it would all be nothing more than a pipe dream.
Kles’s plan and conspiracy were utterly malicious.
Lady Catherine had clearly noticed this, which was why she had requested the Imperial Administrative Region to intervene and for the Vengeance Angel Squad to contain the situation and suppress any potential rebellion in Hurst.
The blood greatsword Robie carried on his shoulder was even larger than his own body. He hunched over, raising his head to stare at the two of them and smiling morbidly. "Trick Witch Evelyn and Withered Knight Delany. Hmm... two high-and-mighty members of the Baze Nobility. I imagine Kles didn’t send you to Hurst just to discuss a simple partnership with Mr. Dane, did he?
Honestly, serving the Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch isn’t a very wise choice, you two."
After speaking, Robie grinned cruelly.
The expressions on both their faces changed.
Their cooperation with Demons was no secret among the upper echelons of the major powers, but the true identity of the Baze World’s great Prophet was something no one else could possibly know, aside from Grand Lord Kles and Baze Nobility like themselves.
Trick Witch Evelyn glanced at Robie with trepidation, utterly horrified. ’Just who is this guy...?’
But that wasn’t what shocked her the most. She never would have dreamed that someone would dare to speak the name of a Venerable Great Demon directly. He was an absolute madman with a death wish!
Even they didn’t dare to casually mention that being’s existence.
Because that was simply asking for death!
Attracting the gaze of a Venerable Great Demon under a Formless Divine Monarch was not something to be proud of.
And reality unfolded just as she expected.
The moment Robie uttered the name "Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch," everyone in the Governor’s Mansion, and even across all of Hurst—those Wandering Mages with powerful Spiritual Talent—felt with utter horror that some terrifying existence, whose name should not be spoken, was now silently gazing down upon them.
Gazing upon this world.
As for this psychic intuition of being watched, it was something Reinhardt had experienced long ago in Verne. Besides, the Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch was an old acquaintance of his.
He even had some major dirt on this Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch.
The Traitor, Stein.
That Destiny Knight, cunning and treacherous to the bone, had well and truly made a fool of the Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch.
Just then, Raphael’s solemn voice sounded through their shared Telepathy.
’My lord, do you feel that? Something is watching this world, watching us. Could it be from Verne...’
’It is.’
Even though the Verne campaign was a thing of the past, eight years ago, for Raphael, it felt like only yesterday.
He hated these Void Demons, who reveled in their schemes and trickery, to the very bone.
Reinhardt glanced at Robie’s blood greatsword.
His voice in the telepathic link was utterly ruthless.
’Raphael, starting now, kill all who resist. Leave no one alive. Seize control of the caravan leaders inside the tower and lock down all nearby Radiant Channels. Don’t let any information get out.
Contact the Grand Law Enforcement Officer in the Golden City. In the name of the Vengeful Angels, order him to control the situation in the Upper City District.
Any suspicious individuals spreading panic are to be executed on the spot. No trial necessary.’
Reinhardt had suspected that the Prophet from the Baze World might be one of the Great Demons under the Formless Divine Monarch, but Robie was adamant that the Prophet was the same Ten Thousand Changes Demon Monarch he had encountered before.
