Heretic Trainer: The Gym Is My Cultivation Method

Chapter 767: Everyone Loves Soul Attacks

Golden-red light surged from Kairox’s eyes as his cloak fluttered violently in the silent space.

The dragon corpses scattered across the barren island trembled.

Old blood, broken scales, cracked horns, and shattered bones all reacted to his system aura.

Garion narrowed his eyes slightly. "Oh? That’s new."

Atlas floated backward a little, his blue eyes glowing as he analyzed the energy.

[Careful. His system signature is spreading through the dragon remains.]

Kairox raised one hand.

The system symbols in his pupils rotated like hunting marks. "Since you refused cooperation, I’ll show you the difference between a candidate who wastes time running a gym..."

His fingers slowly curled. "And a candidate who properly uses his system to dominate stronger lifeforms."

Golden-red light erupted behind him.

[Dragon Hunt Sovereign System]

[Harvested Dragon Armament: Activate]

The corpses around the island shook harder.

From one massive skeleton, a black scale flew out and fused onto Kairox’s shoulder.

From another corpse, a dried golden heart burst open, releasing divine dragon blood that gathered around his chest.

A burning spine fragment rose from a dead flame dragon and attached itself along his back.

Finally, a pale dragon eye floated out of a skull and sank into his forehead.

Kairox’s aura changed instantly.

His human form remained mostly the same, but dragon traits began appearing across his body.

Dark scales spread across his arms as faint golden-red dragon energy surged through his body. Burning spines rose beneath his cloak, and a third eye slowly opened on his forehead.

Garion’s grin widened. "So that’s your thing? You loot dead dragons and wear them?"

Kairox’s expression remained cold. "I harvest superior traits and refine them into power."

Garion nodded seriously. "Yeah, looting."

Kairox ignored the insult and raised his scaled arm, activating another dragon skill.

Black spatial ripples spread across his body, and in the next instant, he vanished.

Garion’s eyes sharpened as Kairox reappeared beside him, clawed fingers slashing toward his neck.

CLANG!

Garion raised one arm and blocked the attack with his forearm, but the impact still shook the entire island.

Kairox’s eyes narrowed slightly in surprise. "How... how can you block that with your bare body?"

Garion grinned. "What, you expected me to block it with my face or something? Don’t you know what I train?"

Kairox frowned and shot his other claw straight toward Garion, activating another skill.

A crushing oceanic pressure erupted from his palm, forming a deep-blue spiral that slammed into Garion’s chest.

Garion was pushed back several steps, his feet carving trenches through the dragon bones beneath him.

However, he didn’t fall.

He simply patted the dust off his chest and said casually, "Not bad. Not bad at all. It’s been a while since someone actually pushed me back."

Kairox frowned, clearly not expecting Garion to be this strong, and immediately prepared to unleash another ability.

Before he could, Garion grinned and stepped forward. "Now that you’ve made your move, it’s my turn, isn’t it?"

Gravity twisted violently around his fist as he punched forward.

Kairox immediately crossed his arms, activating his [Void Dragon Scale] as spatial ripples layered over his body like armor.

The moment Garion’s fist landed, the spatial barrier twisted violently, bending the surrounding space. Yet Garion’s gravitational force kept drilling forward like a collapsing star.

Kairox’s feet slid backward, and for the first time, his calm expression cracked. "So... this is the power of someone with a system related to a gym?"

Garion’s grin sharpened as the force behind his fist increased. "Nah... this is just what happens when you train properly, you know."

A crack suddenly spread across Kairox’s [Void Dragon Scale] barrier. His eyes turned colder, and the third eye on his forehead snapped open.

A pale beam shot toward Garion’s head, attempting to pierce his mind and freeze his soul.

Garion’s body paused for half a second, and Kairox immediately used that moment to retreat. He wasn’t stupid enough to believe the attack could stop Garion for long.

Sure enough, although the soul beam pierced into Garion’s mind, it was immediately neutralized by his terrifying mental strength.

Garion shook his head like someone clearing water from his ear. "Damn... everyone loves soul attacks these days."

Atlas crossed his arms.

[To be fair, soul attacks are among the strongest types of attacks, so it’s no wonder so many people like using them. Unfortunately for him, you’re not exactly normal.]

Garion laughed when he heard that. "Good to know. I’m the owner of God Gym. How the hell could I be normal?"

Kairox’s gaze grew more serious. He had never expected Garion to be this strong. No... Garion was the strongest candidate he had ever fought.

Even so, Kairox still considered himself one of the top candidates. He had already killed numerous candidates before, so how could he possibly lose here?

The spines along his back suddenly ignited as golden-red flames erupted behind him, forming six enormous dragon wings.

Each wing released a different flame law, and together, they formed a blazing cage around Garion.

Kairox raised one hand. "Burn to ashes."

The flame cage collapsed inward, while Garion simply stared at it with interest. "Wow. It actually looks pretty nice."

Atlas shouted from behind him.

[Stop admiring enemy techniques and move!]

Garion ignored him and spread both arms. Purple-black gravity gathered around his body, violently pulling the surrounding flame laws toward him.

Kairox’s eyes narrowed when he saw Garion directly absorbing the flames, but in the next moment, he frowned.

A brilliant white glow suddenly appeared at the center of the black-hole gravity. Garion grinned. "Now I’m returning your little flames."

[BOOOOOOOOOOM!]

All the flame pressure that had collapsed toward Garion suddenly erupted outward with terrifying repulsive force.

The golden-red dragon flames were blasted straight back, tearing apart the flame cage and forcing Kairox to raise both arms in defense.

The island shook violently as the scattered dragon corpses were blown apart and burned to ashes.

Kairox slid backward across the ground, one of his claws half-burned as his expression finally turned sharp.

Garion stepped out of the fading flames completely unharmed and stared at him with a grin. "What’s wrong? Don’t tell me dragons only feared your name because you fought dead ones."
