Help! My One-Night Stand Is Examining Me?!
Chapter 336 Some nerve
Eve scoffed, “Darla is so shameless. She doesn’t have what it takes to handle you herself, so she gave up. But what makes her think that just because her mother steps in to persuade you to break up with your boyfriend, you’ll actually agree to it? She’s got some nerve!”
Alana shook her head. “Who knows.”
Eve couldn’t help but ask, “Now that her mother saw you refuse so flatly, do you think she’ll send someone to intimidate or threaten you? Lana, if that really happens, you’d better be careful!”
Alana paused for a moment. “It probably isn’t as bad as you think, right?”
Eve said earnestly, “You shouldn’t harbor malicious intent toward others, but you must always be on your guard! Who knows what kind of person Darla’s mother is? Anyway, like mother, like daughter, if Darla you isn’t a good person, her mother certainly can’t be much better. Just be careful, that’s all!”
Alana paused for a moment, then nodded. “Okay, I get it. I’ll be careful.”
After finishing their meal, the two best friends went to see a movie together.
A new animated movie had just come out and she’d heard it was really good.
Eve had been wanting to see it for a while, but no one was around to go with her, so she asked Alana to come along.
Alana asked curiously, “Your boyfriend didn’t go with you, did he?”
Eve shook her head. “He doesn’t have time to go see these boring movies with me.”
“In his eyes, it’s all about work, work, and more work. Sometimes I even have to make an appointment just to see him!”
Alana nodded. “Oh, I see.”
Boyfriends and girlfriends needing to make an appointment to meet, that sounds pretty strange.
“So how do you two usually get along?”
“Most of the time I spend with him is in bed.”
Alana choked on her words.
She didn’t know how to respond to that.
Eve shrugged, unconcerned. “What’s the big deal? Isn’t a relationship between two adults just about that stuff in bed? But at least he’s handsome, has a great body, and is good in bed. Being with him is absolute pleasure, I haven’t lost out!”
Alana blushed. “Ahem, I suppose so.”
She knew exactly what she was talking about.
The two arrived at the movie theater.
Each held a bucket of popcorn and a Coke.
Alana remembered the last time she’d gone to the movies with Stephan.
Stephan had been very proactive about standing in line to get tickets and buying popcorn and soda.
It had been a lovely experience, except for running into the rather stupid Darla. She hoped they wouldn’t run into anyone unpleasant today.
Eve suddenly leaned close to Alana’s ear.
“By the way, have you ever gone to
the movies with your boyfriend?”
Alana nodded. “Yes.”
She told Eve every single detail about her last movie date with Stephan.
Eve exclaimed, “I’m so jealous! Now that’s a proper boyfriend, willing to take his girlfriend out to eat, go shopping, and see a movie.”
Alana detected a hint of resentment mixed in with Eve’s envy, so she couldn’t help but offer a suggestion.
“I think if you want your boyfriend to spend time with you, you could try bringing it up with!him, ask him not to focus so much on work and to spend some time with you. Relationships need to be nurtured.”
Eve pouted. “I treat him like a sugar daddy. Do you think anyone would make demands of their own sugar daddy?”
Alana retorted, “Apart from being a sugar daddy, aren’t you also in a romantic relationship? Girl, you need to change your mindset.”
Eve grumbled under her breath, thinking to herself that tonight, she’d try bringing it up with that jerk.
Still, she didn’t think he’d agree.
This movie is suitable for all ages and perfect for families to watch together.
There were quite a few parents in the theater bringing their children to see it.
With so many kids around, it was noisy everywhere.
Eve muttered under her breath, “If I’d known there’d be so many kids in the theater, I should’ve rented it out for a private screening!”
“Renting out the whole theater isn’t cheap. Just make do with it.”
Fortunately, the movie was quite good, a lighthearted and enjoyable comedy.
The fact that some kids were making a racket during the movie was easy to overlook.
As Alana watched, she thought to herself that she’d mention this movie to Stephan when they got home, and then come back to see it with him when he had time.
The movie ended.
Alana and Eve left the theater one after the other.
Eve had drunk a bit too much Coke and had to go to the bathroom urgently, so she hurried off to find it.
Alana waited for her at the theater entrance.
With her head down, she sent Stephan a message, sharing her thoughts on the movie they’d just seen.
Since she’d been with him, her life was no longer lonely; she now had someone she could confide in anytime, anywhere.
And he was very responsive, too.
[Why didn’t you bring me along for something as fun as a movie?]
Alana smiled slightly. [I was just worried you’d be busy, so I didn’t want to bother asking you.]
Stephan: [When it comes to my girlfriend, whether it’s big or small, it’s always a top
priority that needs to be handled immediately. No matter how busy I am at work, nothing is more important than my girlfriend.]
Alana’s lips curled upward. This man was at it again with his smooth talk.
But... there isn’t a woman alive who doesn’t love a man’s sweet talk.
She replied: [I’ll hang out with my friend this time to check out the movie. I’ll take you to see it next time.]
Stephan: [Hmph, fine. We’ll go see it on our next date.]
Alana blinked, thinking to herself, “He’s not actually getting jealous just because I’m out on a date with my best friend to watch a movie, is he?”
Stephan: [Is it over? Are you heading back?]
Alana: [Yeah, almost. My friend ate too much and her stomach’s acting up, she’s in the restroom right now.]
Stephan: [Which theater? Send me your location, and I’ll come pick you up.]
Upon hearing this, Alana immediately replied: [No need, Eve will take me home in a bit.]
Stephan: [Hmph, send me your location. I miss you.]
Alana couldn’t help but chuckle.
Hearing him say that, she really couldn’t bring herself to refuse.
Just as she was about to reply, Alana was suddenly bumped into by someone...
Curious about who had bumped into her, Alana turned around and was surprised to see a familiar face.
“Jamin.”
Jamin was short, barely reaching Alana’s waist. She had to look down to see him.
Jamin chuckled, “Pretty lady, what a coincidence! We’ve run into each other again!”
Alana nodded. “Yeah.”
Jamin asked again, “Pretty lady, what are you doing here?”
“Watching a movie.”
“Me too! Miss, what movie are you watching?”
“An animated movie called Zootopia...”
As soon as Jamin heard that, he got excited again. “Yes! I’m watching that too!”
Alana smiled slightly. “Why are you here alone? Didn’t your parents come with you?”
“I came with my mom. She’s over there..."’Jamin turned around, just about to look for her mom.
But when he turned, she was gone.
“That’s strange. My mom was just sitting over there in the back row a moment ago. Howndid she disappear?”
She had never met Jamin’s mother and didn’t know what she looked like.
“It’s okay. She must have stepped away for a moment. Just wait here for her.”
Jamin nodded, a hint of disappointment in his voice. “Alright. I was actually planning to introduce you to my mom.”
Alana smiled, not taking it too seriously.
Jamin asked her in return, “Pretty lady, what about you? Are you here to watch a movie by yourself?”
Alana shook her head. “No, I came with a friend.”
“Your friend? Is it that guy from last time?”
“No, it’s not him. It’s a female friend.”
