Chapter 1717: Chapter 1717. Angel’s Crushing Competence.

Bao Aiquin was a bit confused as to why this adorable girl with quite a... curvaceous body approached.

With her ankle-length, golden-blonde hair, the girl looked like a gorgeous, innocent maiden untainted by worldly affairs. Even her white cultivation dress, which gently hugged her curves, and the airy robe that flowed with her movements like clouds added to Angel’s innocent charm.

Even the sharp Bao Aiquin couldn’t help but soften her tone. "Little girl, aren’t you going to use Shang Qinqin’s merchandise?"

The people around also looked over. If even Angel came to buy Bao Aiquin’s merchandise, that would be like driving a knife into Shang Qinqin’s back. So, they held back their purchase and looked over with curiosity.

Angel, who had been observing the products, raised her head and blinked her large eyes. "Can I pick one of these, Miss?"

If she said no, Aiquin felt that she would be committing some kind of inexplicable sin. So she nodded, curious.

The rest of the people also looked at Angel with a wide variety of eyes.

Angel picked up one of the pendants and began looking back and forth between the barrier and the pendant. Her fingers traced the edges, and her energy sank into the pendant.

Before anyone could tell what she was doing, a complex, three-dimensional image of formation lines manifested above the treasure out of nowhere.

The formation masters present almost had their eyes pop out of their skulls. What Angel just did was basically overtake all security formations, dig deep into the core, and forcefully bring out the formation’s very skeleton in seconds.

"What did she just..."

"H-How? I didn’t see her manipulate anything in detail?"

Bao Aiquin looked around, her eyes blinking. She had some knowledge, but not enough to truly understand the ridiculous feat Angel had just accomplished. Still, as an expert at grading reactions, as someone who had to have an eye for those, her heart tightened.

As she feared, Angel looked up, her innocent face gone. Now, she was wearing a serious, mature look that shifted her whole vibe. "Lady Bao, I am saying this for your safety. If you use this to enter, you will regret it deeply."

Bao Aiquin frowned and secretly bit her cheek. Her expertise was minimal enough to understand complexity, not effects. So, she looked to the side at one of the formation masters from her family. Her eyes were clearly asking if Angel was talking nonsense or making sense.

Sadly for her, no normal formation master was able to analyze formations in a matter of seconds. Angel’s particular skill in this regard was almost unique.

The formation master sent a quick message. ’I have no idea, Lady Bao. I can’t analyze as fast as that girl.’

Bao Aiquin couldn’t just accept her words at face value, though. "Girl, you can’t say whatever comes to mind, even if you want to defend your friend Shang Qinqin. Formation Master Lord Ming Shen created these pendants."

So her only choice was to trust the product and its creator. Ming Shen was one of the world’s top formation masters, with few able to match his expertise.

Bao Aiquin expected Angel to shoot back some sharp words, but instead, Angel looked at her with a slightly disappointed expression. "Sigh... Do as you please, then. I just advised out of good-heartedness."

Shaking her head, Angel tapped the pendant, and the complex three-dimensional imagery vanished like an illusion. After returning the pendant, Angel turned around and returned to Tatyana’s side. They had to create something similar to crack the formations.

That move was ten times more damaging than any defense.

Aiquin saw a formation master she knew hesitate and approach Angel’s side. "Ahem. Lady... No, Miss Expert, may I ask how you accomplished that?"

Angel turned a little, and as she turned, Yasenia walked behind her. The large dragon lowered her face right behind Angel, her golden-slit eyes sending warning signals.

The scene of Angel with a guardian dragon as majestic as Yasenia curled behind her was truly impactful. The formation master stiffened like prey under the gaze of its natural predator.

Angel answered calmly, her voice soft yet mature. "I just created a mini formation inside with my Glass element that would forcefully interact and bring out its internal structure."

The formation masters almost fainted. One older formation master felt somewhat indignant, as if he was being deceived. "Just!? You call that ’Just’!? Don’t be ridiculous. What’s next, are you able to create formations mid-battle? Girl, don’t be arrogant!"

Angel’s blue eyes shifted, and despite their softness, a trace of solemnity from her Saint Inheritance reflected deep within them. "I can do that. Here. [Show of Thousand Songs]."

With a gentle stomp, a circular formation formed around her using her three elemental affinities. Blood, Glass, and Light combined, manifesting as a complex formation with even flags and some pillars that dissolved to create a simple yet also very complex effect.

An illusion realm manifested where a woman with gorgeous features began dancing. The imagery looked incredibly real, and if anyone were to approach, they would be able to feel the dancing woman with their senses, as if she were real.

Yasenia blinked and lowered her head, opening her mouth and biting Angel’s shoulder gently with a low growl. Angel flinched and looked sideways at the dragon’s golden-slit eyes, pupils thinned. "...Who is she?"

Angel only needed a second to understand that her dear dragoness had become jealous of a randomly generated woman. She laughed and moved her face to give Yasenia a loud smacking kiss. "Silly. Look at the formation. With your knowledge, you should be able to distinguish that much."

Yasenia’s thinned pupils shifted toward the formation, and only after reading the relevant points did she open her maw and gently lick Angel’s shoulder once. "Mmm... Sorry, Baby. I got jealous."

Angel squealed at how cute Yasenia looked and hugged her face into her soft bosom, raining kisses on her beautiful scaly face. "Hahaha. I love youuuu. Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!"

Meanwhile, the rest of the formation masters stared, eyes glazed, at what Angel had just done. They watched a formation that would’ve taken them at least a full day manifest in seconds, hitting their confidence like a hammer on brittle glass.

The old man who had responded angrily stepped forward with long strides. Yasenia looked over and tensed up, but the man ignored her and then...

THUMP!

...He fell to his knees and smashed his forehead against the ground.

"MASTER!"

Angel answered in a deadpan. "No. I am not taking disciples."

"I—I will give you all of my worldly possessions!"

"No."

The old man clutched his heart in regret. "Argh! A-At least, allow this old man to watch when you build your formations in the future!"

"...I’ll think about it."

Angel would usually not have bothered, but they were creating a clan now, so creating connections with formation masters from old families would give them connections in secret positions that could come in handy one day.

Seeing the old man stand up, brush his knees with a few taps, and return with a big smile, the girls turned their heads so they wouldn’t show their laughter. Each time Angel decided to stop being Yasenia’s baby girl and showed off, this happened one way or another.

Yasenia almost spread her wings proudly. ’That’s right! Kneel in front of my Baby’s supreme talent!’

Jian Xinlin herself looked at Angel with completely new eyes. At first, she had thought Angel was just a trophy wife Yasenia kept because her appearance was adorable. Who knew she was secretly such a monstrous formation master?

’I thought Yasenia was exaggerating when she said that her lovers were powerful in their professions. I guess I need to reassess the entire Dravory Clan... again.’

Each time she thought she had them figured out, they would show a hidden, deeper layer. It really scratched at that itch of wanting to uncover all their secrets.

Shang Qinqin took the chance to take over the conversation. "Miss Angel Dravory here is a young formation talent whose potential is something I dare not evaluate. Tackling such a complicated formation is not something we should do easily. Therefore, I recommend waiting for Miss Angel Dravory to finish formulating something before entering."

Bao Aiquin knew that she couldn’t stay silent here. "You speak as if we have all the time in the world. The Royal Hunt is only half a year long. As you might know, around a month has already passed. Moreover, this is not the only place to explore..." She even pointed at the sides. "If we wait here, the other groups will take the lead from us."

The old man who had kowtowed and almost cracked his skull on the ground stepped forward with a proud gait. "If Master Angel can’t crack it, then this old man won’t dare to enter with some half-assed protection. My life is more valuable than the treasures we might find inside. Moreover, the six months are optional. If you find something valuable, the royal family won’t push us away when the deadline comes."

He was someone who had been in the Central Area when the previous Emperor reigned. So, he had absolutely no fear of offending people. In truth, in terms of mastery, he was very well regarded. That’s why he was so offended when Angel uttered such crazy words earlier.

He was just very passionate about formations.

Now that he saw a young, supremely talented girl, how could he not be excited? His long beard almost flipped up with delight at the discovery! For the old man, finding Angel was 100 times more valuable than any treasure here.

Yasenia, who had laid down on the ground surrounding Tatyana and Angel with her large dragon body, turned her head and smiled at the old man. "What might be Senior’s name? We are a rather new family, so we have yet to meet all the distinguished gentlemen and ladies of the capital."

"Hm..." The old man approached with a smile. "You must be that girl that’s been talked about lately, right? Madam Yasenia Dravory."

Yasenia nodded, and the old man chuckled. "This old man is not someone important, just a formation enthusiast who goes by the name Zhuo Lianyu."

’Zhuo?’ Yasenia recalled that one of the beauties she met at the First Princess’s gathering was named Zhuo Shuyun. That scholarly beauty left somewhat of an impression.

The old man chuckled and shamelessly leaned in to watch Tatyana and Angel work with the maids’ help. No one bothered to stop him, and other old formation masters approached as well, rubbing their beards or hair with interest.

"Hehe, that little girl Shuyun told me that she encountered a woman whose charm could eclipse even hers. I thought she was exaggerating, and although I haven’t seen Madam Yasenia in her human form, your temperament tells a thousand stories."

Yasenia smiled. "You surprise me, Senior Zhuo."

"What is your relationship with Master Angel, Madam Yasenia?"

Yasenia lowered her head to lick Angel’s cheek. "She is my super-talented and beautiful wife, of course!"

The old men and women blinked and then grinned. Zhuo Lianyu laughed. "Oho. Master Angel is indeed someone worthy of receiving the love of a Dragon!"

An old woman nearby smiled. "Indeed. Indeed. Seeing such a talented girl revitalizes my old body. Hohoho."

Angel giggled and looked up. "I am very lucky!"

Then, she kissed Yasenia’s snout and continued working.

In the back, Bao Aiquin decided to be intelligent and approached Qinqin, striking a deal to let them use their merchandise and also share some of Angel’s more common products in the future. Qinqin’s eyes shone like a successful merchant’s as she entered into deeper talks with her.

Competition and alliance were, in the end, matters of interest.
