Chapter 975: Chapter 399: What’s So Good About That Little Dumbledore? (2)

"Spade 2: Conflict;" Professor Trelawney muttered as she passed the place where Harry was hiding, "Spade 7: Omen; Spade 10: Violence; Spade Jack: A young man with black hair, likely agitated and unwilling to be questioned by others—"

She stopped walking and stood on the other side of the statue where Harry was hidden.

"Ah, that definitely can’t be right." She said irritably, and Harry heard her reshuffle the deck energetically as she walked away, leaving behind a trace of sherry scent.

Harry waited until he was sure she had left before he hurriedly moved away from the statue, heading towards the eighth-floor corridor where the Dripping Stone Beast was located.

"Sour Exploding Bonbons." Harry said.

The Dripping Stone Beast jumped aside, and the wall behind it split into two, revealing a moving spiral staircase.

"Actually, you don’t need to say the password, esteemed Mr. Potter." It said obsequiously.

Harry still didn’t quite understand how a stone statue could make such an expression.

He stepped onto the staircase, which began to rotate and ascend, eventually bringing him to the door of Dumbledore’s Office, adorned with a brass knocker.

Harry knocked on the door.

"Come in."

It was Dumbledore’s voice.

"Good evening, Professor." Harry said as he walked into the Headmaster’s Office.

"Ah, good evening, Harry. Have a seat," Dumbledore said with a smile, "I trust your first week back at school has been pleasant?"

"Yes, Professor, thank you." Harry replied.

"Would you like some Sour Exploding Bonbons?" Dumbledore took out a handful of colorful candies from a drawer: "These candies come in different flavors: strawberry, lemon, raspberry, cranberry, and so on..."

"No thank you." Harry politely declined with a wave of his hand.

He didn’t have any special fondness for sour or sweet things, unlike Dumbledore, who seemed unable to live without candies.

"Then I’ll have a couple myself." Dumbledore chuckled as he picked up a candy and popped it into his mouth.

While Dumbledore enjoyed his candy, Harry sat down in a chair and looked around the office.

The round office looked the same as always: there were delicately crafted silver instruments on the slender-legged tables, which spun and emitted small puffs of smoke.

The old headmasters and headmistresses were all dozing in their respective portraits, and Dumbledore’s magnificent Phoenix Fawkes stood on a perch behind the door, watching Harry expectantly.

Harry knew that the phoenix wasn’t watching him but looking forward to him and Vivi’s phoenix.

No wonder the bird’s gaze was expectant... It’s expecting his Fiona.

Dumbledore finished his candy, smacked his lips, and said to Harry, "Harry, please forgive my urgency in asking you to come. Professor Slughorn has already found me, inquiring whether the curse on the Defense Against the Dark Arts position at Hogwarts has been resolved, he doesn’t want to suddenly fall into this position with his old bones."

Then Dumbledore added, "Of course, I’m not urging you, but I have to be responsible for the school’s professors."

Harry: ...

You say that, but aren’t you just urging me?

But this indeed was an urgent matter, so he nodded and said, "Don’t worry, Professor. I’ll call Vivi to see when she can come over."

He took out the crystal ball.

He knew why Dumbledore didn’t call Vivi himself; the reason was a bit awkward.

After all, he and Vivi weren’t very familiar with each other, and Vivi had quite an opinion of Dumbledore, the old... old professor.

Of course, Harry understood Vivi; if it were him, he would have dismantled Dumbledore’s old bones long ago.

The call connected, but it was answered by a woman Harry didn’t recognize.

"Hello, Mr. Potter." She said.

"Do I... know you?" Harry asked tentatively.

"I’m Anastasia Rozier, Miss Grindelwald’s new secretary." Anastasia said with a bow, "Miss Grindelwald had specifically introduced you to me."

"I see." Harry nodded, "Miss Rozier, where’s Vivi?"

"She is in a meeting." Anastasia replied, "Should I ask her to come over?"

"No need," Harry said, "Just let her know after the meeting, it’s nothing urgent."

"Okay." Anastasia said.

After hanging up the call, Harry and Dumbledore exchanged glances.

"It seems Vivi has a new secretary." Harry remarked, trying to make conversation, "If nothing unexpected happens, Miss Farley is likely back at the British Ministry of Magic."

"Speaking of which, I remember Miss Farley became Little Sirius’s girlfriend, didn’t she?" At this, Dumbledore’s eyes lit up—Harry could see it, it was the light of gossip.

Come on, you’re such an old man, why are you so interested in gossip?

"Yes." Harry yawned, "That was a year ago... Oh, it was last Christmas."

"When are they planning to get married?" Dumbledore asked curiously, "After all, Little Sirius is not young anymore, and he... well, now that he’s the Minister of Magic, he should consider settling down."

"Tentatively planning to marry this Christmas, unless there’s any surprises." Harry said with a laugh, "About a few days before Christmas, when everyone at Hogwarts is on vacation, so we have time to attend the wedding."

"It’s a good time." Dumbledore laughed heartily, "I suppose I might attend his wedding. I just hope there will be some of my favorite foods at the feast."

"Of course, it’s a good time; Vivi consulted an oriental wizard for an auspicious day, saying it’s suitable for marriage... I don’t know what that means." Harry shrugged, "Vivi is indeed a good woman."

Dumbledore coughed twice, looking at Harry with some doubt.

You keep praising your girlfriend from the start?

As if no one knows you have a good girlfriend.

At that moment, Harry’s phone suddenly rang.

He answered the call, and Vivi’s image appeared above the crystal ball.

"Harry," she said with a smile, "What made you think of calling me?"

"You probably forgot; we promised Professor Dumbledore to help Hogwarts with resolving the curse on the Defense Against the Dark Arts position." Harry said, covering his forehead. "Also, Professor Slughorn wants to meet you, remember him? He was a third-year student when you enrolled, he was in his second year then..."

"Somewhat familiar, Slytherin, right?" Vivi chuckled, "Sure, I’ll head to the UK a bit later, probably after dinner... Oh, you met my new secretary Anna, right? She’s Lady Rozier’s grand-niece."

Harry shook his head at this.

"I thought she was Lady Rozier’s granddaughter." He said.

"How could it be?" Vivi laughed, "You know how much Lady Rozier likes Gael... never mind, I won’t say more."

"Yes." Harry sighed, "Sometimes I really want to ask Lady Rozier, what exactly is so good about that little Gael that she’s obsessed for so many years."

"Oh, please!" Vivi suddenly got angry, "I want to ask Gellert that too! What’s so good about Dumbledore!"

At this point, it was too late for Harry to mute the sound; he coughed twice and reminded Vivi, "You... change the topic, dear sister, I’m right in the Headmaster’s Office."
