Chapter 952: Chapter 388: You’re Not a White Wizard Either, Sister!

Tom seemed to be very interested in Harry Potter, and he didn’t pay attention to that Hufflepuff’s Golden Cup anymore, but continued to inquire about Harry Potter.

After all, that was a Legendary Wizard from decades ago.

"Who exactly is Lanlock? Can you tell me, Miss Hepzibah?" Tom asked eagerly.

"Speaking of Lanlock," Hepzibah said with a smile, "that’s quite an old story—he was a fairy, originally his ancestors helped several Ancient Magic Guardians to create their own private vaults, where the elf metals stored powerful ancient magical forces. And throughout, human wizards despised the fairy race, unwilling to share magical knowledge, let alone let fairies use magic wands, so Lanlock felt it was very unfair, and his goal was to find all these metals and return the magical power to all fairies, so they no longer had to endure the enslavement of humans."

Tom frowned.

"How could he have such thoughts? Truly treacherous!"

In fact, between humans and fairies, Tom still felt that human wizards were far superior to fairies.

"In the end... I also heard this from someone who experienced it back then, saying that Mr. Potter and several of his confidantes found the elf metal, just when they wanted to do something with it, Lanlock suddenly appeared, shattered the piece of elf metal, and merged with its power, becoming a dragon."

Hepzibah’s expression seemed to be recalling, yet also seemed a bit apprehensive.

"Later, I heard that Mr. Potter disappeared along with the dragon, and a few years later, his confidantes also disappeared searching for him."

"In short, this matter was sealed off later, and except for a few insiders, no one knows what really happened."

"So that’s how it is..." Tom nodded with some realization and then looked at the red crystal in his hand and asked, "What is this, Miss Hepzibah?"

"This is the fragment left by Lanlock back then." Hepzibah’s wrinkled old face almost smiled into a chrysanthemum, "At the time, I thought it contained part of Lanlock’s power, but frankly, I seem to have overthought it, it’s just an ordinary fragment with no inherent energy."

However, Hepzibah did not notice, while Tom was looking at the red crystal, his eyes began to gleam with fierce red light.

"Pack it away, take it." Hepzibah said to the house-elf Hao Qi, "I think it’s time to show my dear Tom the next item."

The house-elf put away the Hufflepuff’s Golden Cup and Lanlock’s fragments, and then brought out a small box.

"I think you will like this more, Tom." She said softly, "Come closer, dear child, take a good look... Of course, Bock knows I have this, I bought it from him. I dare say after I die, he’ll definitely want to take it back..."

She opened the delicate gold clasp, lifted the lid, and on the deep red velvet cushion lay a heavy golden locket box.

This time, without waiting for an invitation, Voldemort reached out and picked up the locket box, examining it closely under the light.

"Yes!" Hepzibah was evidently very pleased to see Voldemort staring intently at her little gold box, "I paid a high price for it, but I couldn’t miss it; I had to add it to my collection. Bock bought it from a shabby woman, who probably stole it and didn’t know its true value—I dare say Bock didn’t pay her much for it, but look... isn’t it beautiful? And it has various magical powers, though I’ve only kept it safely stored..."

Harry recognized it, this thing was Slytherin’s locket.

Oh, after all, back when Melop Gaunt sold this locket, it was you who got it?

Well, well, you’ve chosen your own death—of course, this is on behalf of Voldemort.

Anyway, Harry felt that this woman called Hepzibah had definitely written herself into Tom’s death note at this moment.

He also noticed that Tom’s eyes began to unabashedly flicker with red light, and the knuckles of the hand clutching the little gold box’s chain were turning white.

What was that saying?

Insulting the mother is disrespectful?

Hepzibah didn’t notice the red glow in Tom’s eyes, her hand reached to take back the little gold box. For a moment, Harry thought Tom wouldn’t let go, but it slipped from his fingers and fell back onto the red velvet cushion.

"Alright, Tom, dear, I hope you like it!"

She examined his face, and Harry saw, for the first time, a foolishly dazed look on her face.

"Are you alright, dear?" Hepzibah asked suspiciously.

"I’m fine," Tom replied calmly and quietly, "I’m fine, very well..."

Harry knew that Voldemort certainly wasn’t fine.

Though he wasn’t too fond of his father Old Riddle, he did have at least a bit of affection for his mother.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so easily provoked by the words "your mother didn’t love you."

"It must be the lighting?" Hepzibah muttered to herself, not thinking much of it, simply instructing the house-elf Hao Qi to take back the locket.

Harry followed Tom out, and returned to Hepzibah’s house two days later.

He discovered that Hepzibah was already dead, she was slumped over her table, and her cloudy eyes held no light.

Beside her lay a fallen cup.
