Harry Returning from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 944 - 384: Vernon and James
Chapter 944: Chapter 384: Vernon and James
That’s definitely true, after all, between Vivi and Cassandra, everything is out in the open. Even though they just throw a couple of jabs at each other, they never say anything truly hurtful.
Even for someone as sharp-tongued as Cassandra, her remarks about Vivi are limited to calling her a ’sneaky cat’ or a ’shameless woman’.
If she were talking about someone else, it would definitely be an insult—but Vivi indeed... hmm...
...is a sneaky cat.
Vivi admits that herself.
"Don’t say that, what’s this about me and Cassandra?" Vivi said with a bright smile, "Cassandra and I are good sisters, we get along well."
"Really?" Harry gave a skeptical look, "I don’t believe it."
"Of course it’s true." Vivi tousled Harry’s hair, "Have you ever heard this saying? The bond between good sisters is like plastic flowers, fake but never wilting."
"Oh, that’s the kind of bond you have." Harry’s eyes sparkled.
"You still don’t believe me." Vivi huffed.
"I believe, I believe!" Harry helplessly raised his hands in surrender.
After seeing Lily off onto the train, Vivi asked again, "Now do you know why those two sisters aren’t getting along?"
"It seems... hmm, I don’t think things are that heated between the two," Harry shrugged, "Let’s just watch what happens next on the train. I’m really curious about how my mom met my dad."
They followed Lily and boarded the Hogwarts Express together.
Lily got on the train by herself, feeling a bit down, and randomly chose an empty compartment to enter.
Sitting on the train, looking through the window, she saw her parents waving at her, but Penny was nowhere to be seen.
Soon, the train started moving.
A boy with messy hair passed by the compartment but noticing Lily, he backed up just like Tom in "Tom and Jerry."
"Is there anyone here?" he asked.
Lily didn’t want to speak, just shook her head.
The messy-haired boy sat down.
Harry immediately recognized his father, James Potter. He was skinny like Snape, with black messy hair, but he clearly had been pampered since childhood and was favored, something Snape totally lacked.
"Hey, isn’t that your dad?" Vivi suppressed her laughter and said, "Looks like he fancied Lily the moment he saw her."
Indeed, ever since James sat down, he began to casually and intentionally chat with Lily, and the awkward topics made even wooden Harry feel a bit cringe-worthy.
Come on, Dad, is this really how awkward you are?
A while later, another young boy entered, and Harry quickly recognized him as young Little Sirius.
"Is anyone here?" he asked.
"Nope, buddy." James ruffled his hair and cheerfully greeted Little Sirius, "Come on, sit down."
Within a few minutes, two more boys walked in: one had shabby clothes, and the other was a bit chubby and soft.
It was young Lupin and Peter Pediru.
This was the embryonic form of the Plunderers, also Snape’s lifelong rivals.
The boys gathered quickly found common topics, talking loudly in the compartment. Lily just felt like human emotions were isolated, finding them noisy.
After quite a while, the compartment door opened again.
It was Snape, and he finally found Lily.
"Lily," he began.
Lily glanced at him and turned back to the window.
Earlier, she had been crying.
"I don’t want to talk to you," she said, her voice choked with emotion.
"Why?"
"Penny hates—hates me because we read Dumbledore’s letter."
"So what?"
She glared at him with disdain.
"She’s my sister!"
"She’s just a—" He hurriedly shut his mouth.
Lily was busy secretly wiping her tears and didn’t hear him.
"But we’re on our way!" he said, a joy he couldn’t suppress in his voice, "Yes! We’re off to Hogwarts!"
Lily nodded, wiped her eyes, and couldn’t help but smile a little.
"You should try for Slytherin." Snape said, seeing Lily’s mood improve a bit, he felt encouraged.
"Slytherin?"
James, sitting in the compartment, turned his head upon hearing this word.
"Who wants to go to Slytherin? I wouldn’t stay there, would you?" James asked Little Sirius, sitting across leisurely.
However, Little Sirius didn’t smile.
Why not smile? Is it natural to be unsmiling?
"My whole family is in Slytherin." He said expressionlessly.
"Oh wow," James said, "I thought you were pretty cool!"
Little Sirius grinned.
"Maybe I’ll break the tradition. If you could choose, where would you want to go?"
James raised an invisible sword.
"’Gryffindor, where bravery is buried deep in the heart!’ Just like my dad."
Snape snorted contemptuously, and James turned to look at him.
"What’s the matter, got an opinion?"
"No," Snape said, but his arrogant sneer showed the opposite meaning, "If you’d rather have muscles than brains—"
"Then where would you want to go? Looks like you lack both." Little Sirius interrupted suddenly.
James laughed loudly, the sound was exceptionally malevolent, even a fool could hear the sarcasm in it.
