Chapter 1035: Chapter 429: Alumni Reunion (Part 2)

As she spoke, she beckoned everyone to come inside.

The classmates gradually arrived, each one a familiar face.

If it weren’t for the fact they’re so old now, Harry might have thought he had gone back a hundred years.

"Knock knock..."

The door suddenly opened again, and a figure appeared at the entrance.

It was Professor Garrick with her two pigtail braids, still dressed as she did a hundred years ago, though her appearance had aged.

Yet even so, you could still tell from her features that she was undoubtedly a beauty in her youth.

That’s what "time cannot defeat a beauty" means.

"Classmates, I’m here!"

"Professor." Everyone stood up together to welcome the only professor attending the reunion.

If nothing unexpected happens, she’s probably also the only professor still alive to attend the reunion.

"Actually, Phineas just told me he wanted to join the gathering—" Professor Garrick elongated her tone.

The classmates cooperated by letting out an "Aww—" as if their main class had taken over their PE period.

Seeing everyone so cooperative, Professor Garrick nodded with satisfaction and said with a smile, "But I didn’t agree, how could I let him ruin a good day like this?"

"Long live the Professor!" Everyone cheered together.

In fact, over the years, their dislike for Phineas had faded away with time.

Even after entering society, when they faced difficulties, they occasionally thanked Phineas.

If it weren’t for his almost spoon-fed teaching...

In a way, Phineas was indeed doing it for the classmates’ benefit, only his methods were hard to accept.

With everyone present, Harry spotted Lukken Brightby, who used to be good friends with Gareth; that once reckless Gryffindor now had several faint scars on his cheeks, said to be the best Auror once.

And there were a few classmates whose names and faces Harry needed a moment to recall; they warmly patted his shoulder and handed him a foaming Butter Beer.

"I think we can do this every year." Imelda said smiling at Harry, "You see, as days go by, we old folks don’t know how much longer we’ll have... being together with old friends always brings happiness, doesn’t it?"

"Indeed." Harry agreed with a nod.

The friendships of student days are untainted with other impurities.

"Of course." Imelda continued, "I remember you seemed to be tracking someone named Voldemort before, right?"

"Yeah." Harry took a sip of Butter Beer and let out a long burp.

"That’s nice; I wouldn’t dare drink like that now, my stomach isn’t as young as it used to be..." Randall Prewett said beside him.

Speaking of Randall, Harry had just had a chat with him; by relation, he’s Mrs. Weasley’s grandfather...

Such darn family relations.

"But now he’s hiding in the United States." Harry shrugged, "You know how the American Magic Congress is, arrogant and self-important; those adjectives don’t even describe one-tenth of them..."

"If it’s the United States, Nerida might have some methods." Imelda suddenly said, "But she had some things today so she couldn’t come to the reunion... she married an American, maybe you could ask her for a hand?"

"Sure, I’ll ask her in the group." Harry gestured an ’ok’.

Just then, Professor Garrick, who had been chatting and reminiscing with Pabi, walked over.

"Harry." She opened her arms and hugged Harry, "It’s been so long since I saw you. You’ve been here since a hundred years ago, and you didn’t even think to contact me? I was so worried about you, you rascal..."

Harry didn’t know what to say, he just smiled awkwardly.

"Where’s your girlfriend, Professor?" He had to change the subject.

"She’s at home sleeping." Professor Garrick smiled and said, "After all, she’s not a professor at the school, nor one of your classmates; I can’t bring her to a class reunion, right?"

Harry thought to himself, of course I know, I’m just shifting the topic to avoid the awkwardness.

"So tell me," Professor Garrick looked at Harry leisurely, "your reflections and insights?"

"Huh?" Harry didn’t understand what the professor meant.

"What’s it like having four girlfriends?" Professor Garrick’s eyes were full of teasing, "Four, Harry, I really didn’t expect you to be my most promising student..."

"Professor, I actually successfully nurtured Biting Kale in class..." Harry tried to jog the professor’s memory.

Unexpectedly, Professor Garrick laughed.

"I don’t remember that." she said, "I just remember you dating four girlfriends at once. This the professor cannot forget."

Harry: ...

Professor, are you intentionally stirring trouble?

"Your health is okay?" Professor Garrick looked Harry over, "If you’re feeling unwell, you can tell me—after all, I am a Herbology professor, I’m very clear about what special effects each herb has..."

Harry took a deep breath.

I need herbs?

I am the embodiment of a Magic Stone, even if Vivi and the others combine, they have to steer clear of my edge!

Alright, don’t argue with the professor.

"Oh by the way." Professor Garrick noticed Harry wasn’t taking the bait, somewhat regretful but didn’t forget what was important, "The hybrid you entrusted me to cultivate before, I’ve tried, but haven’t had any success... of course, it doesn’t necessarily mean your method is wrong, it’s possible I haven’t found the right way."

Hybrid species?

Oh.

Harry remembered that at the beginning of sixth grade, after chatting with Professor Garrick about Muggle courses he learned on plant crossbreeding.

Professor Garrick was immediately intrigued by this knowledge, but before she had time to cultivate, Harry had traveled through time.

"But..."

Professor Garrick said meaningfully, "I tried to hybridize Poisonous Tentacles and Biting Kale, and in the end, Biting Kale developed a toxicity... but I still feel that even though it’s not useful, it at least proves the feasibility of your idea."

"Not useful?" Harry scratched his head and asked.

"Of course it’s not useful." Professor Garrick chuckled, "Look at the top predators in the animal kingdom, which of them have toxins? Only those not skilled in combat focus on developing venom... @And the strength of Biting Kale is precisely its combat ability; I believe its powers are enough to handle some wizards, adding venom would be superfluous."

But Harry didn’t see it that way.

"But we’re wizards, Professor." Harry said confidently, "When it comes to defeating opponents, no matter how excessive the damage, it’s worth investing in—I think having a toxic Biting Kale would certainly be useful."

"Really?" Professor Garrick perked up, then sighed, "But that was an accidental research achievement from eighty years ago; if you’re interested in this, I can try again..."

"Thank you, professor." Harry happily expressed his gratitude.

Just then, Vivi came over with a wine glass.

She first glanced at Professor Garrick, nodded a greeting, then placed her hand on Harry’s shoulder.

"What are you guys talking about?"

"Talking about the plant hybridization we discussed earlier." Harry said to Vivi, "Remember the hybrid plant I mentioned to you? Professor Garrick made progress eighty years ago!"
