Harem Online: My Party Is Full of Beautiful Celebrities
Chapter 339: I Accept the Conditions
Chapter 338I Accept the Conditions
The question settled over the sound-dampened relay chamber.
Mireva looked between Alexandra and Cassandra, then folded her wings and stepped through the reopened return route. The thick bronze door closed behind her, leaving the party alone beneath the restored bell.
The chamber doubled as a bellkeeper’s workshop. Felted panels covered the walls between shelves of tuning forks, cracked bell parts, and tools made for hands with wing membranes. Even the party’s shifting boots reached the restored relay as little more than a low vibration through the floor.
Cassandra stood beside the central worktable. Martin could see her arranging the answer before she gave it, but she did not retreat behind a request for more time.
"Spending the night with Martin and Katherine was not my answer," she said. "Neither was returning to this party. Intimacy was one choice. Working beside all of you was another. The harem is a separate decision."
Katherine’s playful expression softened. Martin remained beside the cold furnace and waited.
Cassandra looked at Alexandra. "I wanted enough time to know that fear was not making the decision for me. I left Martin once because I decided that losing him first would hurt less than waiting for his choice. I will not disguise the same fear as consent now."
Alexandra rested one hand in the fur beneath Kumoe’s right jaw. "You owe me honesty about Kumoe. You don’t owe me the answer I want about Martin."
"I know. That is why the answer is mine."
Cassandra drew a quiet breath.
"Everyone chooses freely and remains free to change her mind. Martin treats every relationship as real instead of asking several women to survive on whatever attention remains. The circle stays small enough that no one disappears inside it, and the women involved care about one another beyond competing for him. Jealousy is spoken before it becomes a secret plan, and no one decides another woman’s future for her."
Her crimson eyes moved briefly toward Katherine before returning to Alexandra.
"Under those conditions, yes. I accept them, and I want to join the harem."
She did not look toward Martin for approval after saying it. Her attention stayed on Alexandra, the woman who had proposed the arrangement and whose trust Cassandra had damaged long before giving this answer. That made the yes feel more deliberate than any romantic declaration delivered safely in private.
Elisebeth’s staff slipped from her hand. It struck the workshop floor with a hard clatter. Orange-white Spellweaver threads flashed around her fingers, caught the staff before it could roll beneath a cabinet, and dragged it back into her palm.
"Elder Sister?"
Cassandra turned toward her. "Yes, Elisebeth?"
Elisebeth stared at her as if waiting for the answer to change. "You actually accepted it."
"I did."
"I thought you would be the last person here to agree to a harem."
A faint, rueful smile touched Cassandra’s mouth. "So did I."
That answer unsettled Elisebeth more than a clever rebuttal would have. She looked toward Martin, then Katherine. "And you’re certain this isn’t only because of last night?"
"I am. Last night showed me what I wanted. It did not make the decision for me."
Alexandra released a breath that sounded almost like a laugh. She crossed the narrow space between them and, before thinking better of it, hooked one arm around Cassandra’s shoulders.
"Then you’re Cass in our circle now."
Cassandra went rigid beneath her arm. "You shortened my name without asking."
Alexandra dropped her arm at once. "You’re right. I should have asked."
The immediate apology made Cassandra pause.
Alexandra met her eyes. "May I call you Cass?"
Cassandra considered it. "Not yet."
"Not yet," Alexandra repeated. "I can respect that."
Kumoe’s curious head pushed between them to investigate the new arrangement. Her nose pressed into Cassandra’s cheek.
Cassandra tolerated the inspection for several seconds before gently guiding the muzzle away. "Kumoe may stay close."
The right head watched her without offering the same welcome. Cassandra did not reach for her.
Elisebeth recovered enough to plant the end of her staff firmly against the floor. "My answer is still no."
"I know," Cassandra said. "My decision does not alter yours, and I would never ask you to change it."
Elisebeth studied her for a moment, then nodded. "Good."
Rias glanced toward the sealed bronze door. "Then that part is settled. Mireva has already given us more privacy than we should expect during an active emergency."
Katherine rested one hand on Alexandra’s shoulder. "Alex and I are already trying this together. Cassandra was the one deciding whether she wanted to join us."
Cassandra looked toward her. "You explained most of the conditions to me."
"Because I wanted you to understand what joining us actually meant," Katherine said. "Alex and I could explain what we agreed to. We could not make your answer for you."
Cassandra gave her a small nod.
Alexandra’s laughter faded. She faced Cassandra again, and the warmth in her expression did not erase the harder truth beneath it.
"This doesn’t put you in charge of us again," she said. "It doesn’t make me forgive you for Ashy or what nearly happened to Kumoe."
"I know. I did not accept the harem to purchase authority, forgiveness, or escape from accountability."
"Good. Your yes doesn’t buy your place here either."
"It is not a purchase." Cassandra glanced at the first relay glowing across the workshop. "I intend to earn whatever trust returns through what I do next. My relationship with Martin is not payment for that work."
Alexandra studied her, then gave one small nod.
Martin crossed the workshop. He stopped in front of Cassandra and offered his hand without taking hers first.
"I wanted you to say yes," he admitted. "But I wanted it to be your yes."
Cassandra placed her hand in his. "It is."
He smiled, too relieved to hide it. "Then I’m happy."
Martin expected another carefully measured answer. Instead, Cassandra caught the front of his armor and pulled him down.
Her mouth met his in a firm kiss. The first press of her lips carried none of the uncertainty from their night in the penthouse. She held him there long enough for Elisebeth to make a strangled sound, then released him without letting go of his armor.
"That was also my choice," Cassandra said.
Katherine reached out and briefly squeezed Cassandra’s free hand. She offered no claim over the decision and no joke about the night that had preceded it. The quiet approval mattered more because Katherine had spent so much of their time together filling every silence.
Alexandra folded her arms beneath her breasts. Jealousy tightened her mouth even while satisfaction brightened her eyes. "Enjoy it, Emperoar. I still have the first real-world date."
"I remember," Martin said.
"So do I," Cassandra added. "I accepted the conditions, not the right to overwrite promises made before my answer."
Alexandra held Cassandra’s gaze for a moment, then nodded. "You remembered."
"Of course."
The bronze door shook beneath a violent impact.
Every weapon came up.
The locking bar lifted from the other side, and Mireva forced the door open. A young Sairren runner stumbled through beside her with blood darkening one folded wing. Katherine sent Kinnami forward before he struck the floor, and golden light caught him beneath the arms.
The runner dragged in a breath.
"The safe path lied."
