GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2610: No Settling.

Chapter 2610: No Settling.

After checking the invisible white ball with the Identify Information divine ability, the god of history and seers became sure that there was nothing wrong with it and it hadn’t been tampered with.

So the god of history and seers clicked his tongue in admiration and said, “You successfully created a blank mind. I am impressed with your capabilities.”

The god of knowledge replied with modesty, “It was nothing really. It just took a lot of time to purify the mental energy of will and memories and make it stable enough to exist with just a little energy support without being contaminated by my energy.”

The god of seers rolled his eyes exaggeratedly before saying, “When are we going to start? I don’t want to be bored to death with your bragging.”

The god of wisdom admonished him, saying, “It is good for you to learn more about the blank mind and how I made it, as it will give you an advantage in our upcoming struggle.”

The god of seers said, “Unlike you, I won’t feign humility. I’ll just tell you now that I already know what I need to know after seeing it.”

The god of knowledge smiled despite the jab at his personality and said, “Since you already know what you need to know, then we should start.”

The god of history also smiled and said, “Since I already know what I need to know, there is no need to continue this facade with you. Good luck with your endeavors.”

The god of knowledge didn’t like what he heard at all. He frowned and said, “What is the meaning of this?”

The god of history sneered and said, “What do you mean by asking me that question? I thought you were so intelligent. Why are you asking me if you’re so intelligent? Or is your intelligence fake? Have you been pretending all along?”

As he spoke, many phantom figures appeared around him. These people were in a strange state made of transparent foam. Everyone that he summoned was also dazed and lifeless.

Even if the god of knowledge didn’t know what the god of history was planning, he knew the plan immediately he saw these phantom figures.

So the god of knowledge said, “So you want to resort to brute force.”

The god of history confirmed his conjecture by saying, “So you’re not as dumb as you look.”

After insulting the god of knowledge, he said, “Jokes aside. You’re right. I never wanted to play your game. I just wanted to lead you to a place where I could kill you. Why settle for being half of a being that is neither you nor I when I can just kill you and be done with it?”

The god of knowledge gritted his teeth and said, “You fool. If we combine, we will become something greater.”

The god of history sneered at him as he said, “You’re the fool. I would rather be the head of a chicken than be an unknown body part of a lion. Now that I have you here, you can forget about leaving.”

Then he spread out his hands and said, “Lo and behold. Your doom.”

The god of history had used the rank 7 Historical Figures divine ability. This is a divine ability that summons the phantom of everyone he knows to fight for him. Even the phantom of the god of telepathy was summoned.

The more he knows about a person, the thicker and more durable their phantom image and the more powerful they will be. He doesn’t know much about the god of telepathy, so the phantom figure of the god of telepathy that was summoned was weak and frail.

The weakness of the phantom of the god of telepathy is just a drop in the bucket, though. It doesn’t change the fact that this fight with the god of knowledge is not going to be one against one. The god of history is going to outnumber the god of number by exactly six to one.

But the god of history didn’t stop there. He said to the phantoms, “If you’ve promised to help me kill the god of knowledge, now is the time to appear and fulfill your oath.”

As he said this, the transparent phantoms solidified and transformed into the true appearance of the person they were modeled after. The eyes of the phantoms also became full of life and intelligence.

The god of fate was busy hunting the god of luck when she felt the tug of her oath. She didn’t want to weaken herself during this important hunt, but she had to lend the god of history her power because she had promised to help him kill the god of knowledge. This made her phantom solidify into the real god of fate.

The same thing happened with the phantom of the god of merchants, the god of life, the god of telepathy, and the god of walkers. This is the source of the confidence of the god of history in his plan to kill the god of knowledge.

The god of knowledge saw this and said, “You are right about something, but you’re wrong about a whole lot of things, too.”

The god of history snickered and said, “Is that so? Why don’t you stop being mysterious and say what I did wrong? Why don’t you just say whatever you want to say quickly and not try to stall for time by being cryptic?”

He knew that the god of knowledge was slippery like an eel and cunning like a snake, so he didn’t want to give the god of knowledge any time to prepare at all.

This was why he shouted, “Attack and kill him.”

He shouted this to the phantom gods that he had summoned. He shouted it as soon as he finished telling the god of knowledge to be direct with whatever he wants to say instead of trying to stall for time. It is clear that he wasn’t being sincere about hearing what the god of knowledge wanted to say. In fact, he didn’t want to give the god of knowledge any chance to speak at all.
