Chapter 2609: Winning Without Fighting.

After rushing out, the first thing that the god of luck did was to use rank 1 Luck Determination to see if he wasn’t walking into a trap. The activation of this divine ability caused the dice in his eyes to roll a four. This meant that he had an above-average chance of succeeding.

An above-average chance of succeeding in cheating a god and not just any god, but the god of fate herself, is a good chance. And since the dice in his eyes are the authority of his pathway, what they said about his chances of success is very reliable.

But the god of fate didn’t want to take any chances. He decided to use the rank 2 Luck Addition divine ability to increase his chances of success.

He expended divine energy and some of his luck in order to increase the chances of success in his current endeavor. This caused the dice to change from four to six. So the number of pupils in each eye became six.

To top things off, he also used the rank 4 Luck Armor divine ability. This caused his shiny scales to become slippery. So he was able to slip through the tiny gaps in the large web that the god of fate had woven around the god of disaster.

The god of disaster had been captured and was about to be killed by the god of fate before the god of death interfered. This didn’t happen by chance. The god of luck had orchestrated this exact situation so that the god of disaster would be helpless to resist him.

The large golden koi fish with dice for eyes swallowed the trapped giant colorful chameleon whole. Then it rushed away, giggling and chuckling to itself.

As the god of luck escaped with his prize, he said, “Luck always wins.”

Of the three of them, the pathway of luck is the weakest because it doesn’t have any lethal divine abilities. Despite this handicap, the god of luck was able to kill the god of disaster right from underneath the nose of the god of fate.

Not many people can cheat the god of fate. So the success of his plan is something worthy of being happy about.

The golden fish plunged into the earth and dripped into it as if it were mud. From there, he escaped into the spiritual dimension.

A few seconds after he escaped, the god of fate came out of the underworld. She didn’t come out of the place where she entered the underworld. She came out of the underworld in the spiritual realm beside the underworld itself.

Her decree had been fulfilled, and the god of death had been killed by the god of life. With the god of life working together with her, they were able to destroy the phylactery of the god of death and escape from the underworld as soon as possible. But she was not happy with the situation.

She roared in anger and said, “You won’t get away with this.”

Then she rushed back to the physical dimension to retrace the escape route of the god of luck. As long as she can catch the god of luck before he gains control of the Eye of Disaster, she will be able to get both the authority of disaster and also kill the god of luck.

As for the god of life, she is busy trying to refine the underworld. This should be easy for her to do because the god of death died before he could withdraw all the power of his pathway unto himself.

All she will need to do is create a vessel of the pathway of death and make that vessel become the new god of death. As long as she is able to achieve this before the previous god of death revives, she will gain control of two pathways.

Even Legion was tempted by the situation. They considered trying to take the underworld for themselves.

Since it would be very easy for them to create a vessel using the Gestalt Mind divine ability and there was no risk to themselves, they decided to go for it.

The god of life was wary and cautious, but she could never have guessed that the god of telepathy would try to snatch her prize. After all, the god of telepathy already has his three adjacent pathways.

The only one that the god of life was being careful of was the god of death. Since the god of nobles and the god of disaster were dead, she didn’t think anyone would appear to help the god of death.

The world was very busy, and everyone was trying to increase their strength in whatever way possible. Perhaps, the greatest attempt to increase one’s strength is the collaboration between the god of knowledge and the god of history and seers.

The god of knowledge had finished his preparations for their unification. So he called the god of history and seers for the execution of their plan.

The two of them met in the spiritual dimension so as to avoid prying eyes. Then they stood opposite each other in preparation for their upcoming battle.

The god of knowledge had fused with his authority and had become a large white tower with bricks made of words and information. The god of history, on the other hand, looked like two pieces of paper stuck together.

The piece of paper in front was that of a large eyeball with tiny arms and tiny legs and many eye stalks attached to its body. This was the appearance of the god of seers.

The second piece of paper attached to the front paper was black and obscure. It looked as if it were made of black mist, so its appearance was indistinct.

The god of knowledge produced a large white ball from his mind and placed it between the two of them. This large white ball was invisible because it was a mental construct. But the god of history and seers could see the white ball.
