Chapter 2601: Worm Of Subjugation.

Their advancement to become the god of the pathway of slavery is their fastest advancement ever. They literally progressed from initial control of the pathway to a 100% fusion rate and successful advancement all in one day.

No other pathway was so fast. But they can’t say that the advancement to become the god of slavery was fast because it was easy. If it were easy, they wouldn’t be the first god of slavery despite the numerous attempts by many predecessors before them.

In fact, the advancement was not easy for them. Just the fact that they didn’t initiate the fusion and the subsequent advancement shows just how out of their hands everything was.

The Worm of Subjugation wanted to make them become the god of slavery by force. As soon as they tried to gain control of it, they either had to become the god of the pathway or be enslaved and devoured by the Worm of Subjugation.

When they used their Cognitive Adaptation divine ability to comprehend the capabilities of the Worm of Subjugation, they learned that its ultimate ability is named Virus. After thinking of the process of becoming the god of the pathway, they have to agree that this name suits the ultimate ability very well.

The Virus ultimate ability is very powerful. It can infect any target regardless of how powerful they are. Power and strength can only slow down its activity and progress. Power can’t stop its infection.

The Virus ultimate ability can infect a target using mental or physical means of contact. Then it will use the energy of the host to reproduce and spread through the existence of the host.

The one goal of the Virus ultimate ability is to subdue the host. It will do this by rewriting the existence of that person and turning that rewritten part of their existence against them until it rewrites the entire existence of the target.

The special part of this authority is that gods who are subjugated by the virus won’t be rejected by their authority. So, gods can be enslaved using the Virus ultimate ability.

If there are any weaknesses for this ultimate ability, there are two. The first is that it requires contact with the target before it can infect the target.

Legion can’t look at a target and infect them from afar. They must touch them in one way or another before the Virus ultimate ability takes effect.

The second probable weakness is that despite how powerful the Virus ultimate ability is, its effect can be nullified. The virus itself can’t be stopped. No amount of power can stop it. But the final outcome can be influenced by the host.

As far as Legion can tell, only a Supreme law might be able to stop the Virus. Their Rewind and Restore divine ability couldn’t help them escape from it, so they doubt that there is anything that can stop the virus.

So, without a Supreme Law, the virus will surely rewrite the entire existence of the host into that of a puppet. But as long as the host can retain control of their rewritten existence, they will be able to avoid the fate of being enslaved.

The job of the virus is only to turn the target into a puppet. Legion still has to control the target with the mark of slavery and maintain control of it.

It is unlikely that anyone can defeat the god of slavery in the aspect of enslaving people and maintaining control of them, but if there is, that person will be able to escape their control.

Someone who might be better than them at enslaving people is the god of telepathy and the god of fate. The god of telepathy might be able to bypass their control using the Gestalt Mind divine ability, while the god of fate might be able to achieve the same thing using the Marionette divine ability.

These are only possible people who can escape their control. But even if these possibilities are real, they have few reasons to be worried because they are also the god of telepathy and can combine the power of the god of telepathy with the power of the god of slavery.

Once they combine the power of the god of telepathy with the power of the god of slavery, they doubt that there is any god who can stop them or escape from them. Not even the god of fate should be able to escape from the fate of being enslaved by them.

This is the kind of power that they gained by becoming the god of slavery. But it is just one of the benefits of this advancement. There are other benefits that they gained.

The first benefit is, of course, the increase in the limit of their raw power from 240,000 to 360,000. Right now, their raw power is still 120,000. So they still need to eat many divine beings and gods in order to reach their new limit.

The second benefit that they gained from becoming the god of the pathway of slavery is gaining another source of divinity. This is one more portion of divinity than the god of justice. The god of justice had two sources of divinity, while they have three.

The Worm of Subjugation gave them an extra 20,736 divinity. Now they have a total of 62,208. This brings their total power to 62,208 × 120,000, which is 7.465 × 10^9. This is three times as much power as they had when they reached the limit of the power of the god of telepathy.

The third benefit that they gained from this advancement is an increase in the amount of divine energy that they can carry. Out of their four main pathways, three of them have advanced to the level of the god of the pathway. These three god level pathways all increased their capacity of divine energy, as well as the limit of power and their divinity.
