GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2590: Extreme Hatred.

Chapter 2590: Extreme Hatred.

The five high gods weren’t hiding themselves. They stood above the Empire of Nobles as if to protect it. But they weren’t actually doing anything to stop the killing of the nobles.

The god of crime didn’t even get near the Empire of Nobles before he sensed them. But once he discovered their presence, everything about the situation clicked in his mind.

He stopped and said to them, “Fate, Traveler, Merchants, Knowledge, and History. Must you fight me to the death?”

He had been hoping to intimidate them by implying that if they fight, it would be a matter of life and death, but the god of travelers replied without hesitation, “Yes.”

The god of crime snorted and said, “I know that you are ready to die because of your pettiness. So what if I killed your brother? After so long, if I hadn’t killed him, he would have died of old age.”

“You are a god now, and you have me to thank for motivating you to achieve your power. Even if you won’t be grateful to me, you should act like a god and let the past go.”

The god of travelers gritted his teeth and said, “I will never let the past go.”

The god of crime ignored him and said to the others, “He can choose to be childish and petty enough to risk his life to stop me. But are you also willing to risk your lives for pettiness?”

The god of merchants replied, “I am not fighting you because of pettiness. I’m fighting you because you swindled me. You owe me a lot of money, so I must fight.”

The god of knowledge said with confidence, “Don’t try to intimidate us. With us working together, you can’t kill any of us. Even if you manage to kill us, it won’t matter for long because we are high gods. We can always resurrect.”

The god of fate said in agreement, “According to my predictions, our chances of success are more than 80%. So I think there is nothing to worry about for us.”

The phantom god said, “It is you who should worry about dying. If you die, a new god of justice, a new god of knights, and a new god of error might just ascend while you’re still resurrecting.”

The god of crime felt a headache coming on as he listened to them. He has indeed grown much stronger. But he has also offended a lot of people, and it is coming back to bite him.

One-on-one, he is confident in killing these gods, but together, it will be very tricky for him to be victorious. What’s more, killing them won’t be the end of his problems because they can always be resurrected.

If they die, they won’t lose much. But if he dies, he will lose a lot because he has three pathways that he hasn’t fused completely with yet.

To top things off, he can’t use his Rebellion ultimate ability from the pathway of crime on anyone else currently. This is because he can only use Rebellion on one god at a time.

Since he is already using the Rebellion ability on the god of nobles, he can’t use it on these five gods. This will put him at a disadvantage when fighting them.

He groaned and thought to himself, “This is so frustrating.”

As he was thinking about what to do, the god of travelers stepped forward and created multiple copies of himself. There were about a hundred copies of him, and they all glared at the god of crime as if they were ready to attack.

The god of crime knew that the god of travelers wasn’t bluffing or posturing to intimidate him. If there is something that the god of travelers can’t bluff about, it is his immense hatred for the god of crime. So the god of crime knew that if he tried to make them back down, he would truly face a fight to the death.

This made him very angry. Outwardly, he sneered at the five of them and said, “You can’t always guard against me. All I need is one slip-up, and you won’t be able to stop me.”

But inwardly, he said to himself, “I won’t make things easy for you, though.”

He took one last look at the palace of the god of nobles and thought to himself, “I will give you a chance. I hope you make good use of it.”

After speaking, he retreated and disappeared from the sight of the five gods.

This made the god of travelers shout at him, “That’s right. You’d better run.”

The god of nobles was aware of all of these. He saw five gods appear above him and chat with the god of crime.

When the five gods had appeared, he expected them to help him solve the problem of his dying nobles. But when he saw them stand by and watch, he realized that something was wrong.

He couldn’t tell what was wrong until the god of crime appeared and began talking. It was then that he realized that the god of crime was the one killing his nobles.

This realization hit him like a meteor. He slumped into his throne with eyes full of despair.

As he listened to the discussion of the six gods, he began to hope that the god of crime would fight them and save him. But the god of crime didn’t do that.

The god of crime left him to his fate. The only good thing was that the god of crime removed the Rebellion ultimate ability on him and made his divine abilities loyal to him.

This change in his situation made his eyes light up with hope. His despair receded, and his mind became determined instead.

He said to himself, “I can only rely on myself.”

Now that he has the use of his divine abilities back, he can resist. What’s more, he has two ways to resist.
