Chapter 2584: Importance Of Innate Talent.

They became smug after swearing the oath because they had taken some liberties with that oath that wasn’t in their initial agreement.

For example, their initial agreement was that the god of knowledge wouldn’t tell anyone about how to control the authority of the pathway of slavery, but Legion didn’t want him to tell anyone else about how to upgrade an innate talent into an authority.

Another liberty that they took was to force the god of knowledge not to tell anyone anything about them, when their initial agreement was that the god of knowledge wouldn’t tell anyone about them possessing other pathways aside from the three that they publicly claim to own.

But the god of knowledge didn’t get angry that they made this oath. He agreed with them and swore that he wouldn’t tell anyone anything about them and that he wouldn’t tell anyone about how to upgrade an innate talent into an authority and use it to forge a supreme authority.

After the oaths were sworn, information was exchanged to seal the deal. The god of knowledge had to provide the two pieces of information, or the oaths that were sworn wouldn’t stand. So he spoke unprompted.

He said, “The first thing I promised you is information on how to advance an innate talent into an authority and use it to create the Supreme Authority. This is very important knowledge that I paid a large price to learn, so pay close attention.”

Legion already had some understanding of how to upgrade an innate talent into an authority, thanks to the memories of the god of dreams. The god of dreams had ventured into the dreams of many dead gods, so they were very knowledgeable.

He didn’t think the god of telepathy would have an innate talent that was compatible with the pathway of telepathy, the pathway of dreams, and the pathway of illusion.

If the god of telepathy doesn’t have an innate talent that is compatible with these three pathways, then it means that the god of telepathy won’t be able to advance the three pathways to the godling rank and won’t be able to produce the three rank 10 divine abilities needed as raw materials for the upgrade.

In that case, this highly valuable information that he is given the god of telepathy is like giving pearls to swine. The information will be useless to the god of telepathy and would only be able to serve him because his innate ability is highly compatible with his three adjacent pathways.

The innate ability must be compatible with the other authorities, just like concepts must be compatible with one another based on the laws that make them up before those concepts can be sacrificed to raise the level of the main concept into a Supreme Law.”

In their previous conjecture, they believed that the 3 rank 10 divine abilities are just the minimum amount needed to upgrade an innate talent into an authority. They believe that there can be more than three rank 10 divine abilities.

Either the god of knowledge didn’t know that three rank 10 divine abilities were just the minimum, or he knew but wasn’t going to tell them. They doubt it is the latter because he swore an oath to be completely truthful about what he knew.

If the god of knowledge didn’t know, it would mean that they knew more than he did. But they didn’t show this. Instead of acting smug, they acted aggrieved.

The god of knowledge replied to their question with false pity and fake sadness, “Unfortunately, not. The three rank 10 divine abilities are a must. There is no way around this requirement.”

The virtual body said with pure, unbridled anger, “You cheated me.”

The god of knowledge shook his head, saying, “Not at all. My job is to give you the information. Whether you can use it is your matter.”

“If you can’t use the information I worked so hard to get, you can only blame yourself. You can’t blame me because I am telling you everything I know and I am telling you cheaply.”

The virtual body tried to calm down while the god of knowledge ignored his unpleasant expression and continued his explanation.

“After you acquire three rank 10 divine abilities, you need to master them. Once you master them, you can fuse all three of them. The product of the fusion will be the prototype authority.”
