GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2583: Two Pieces Of Information.

Chapter 2583: Two Pieces Of Information.

Before the god of knowledge could reply to their question, the virtual body put their foot on the ground and expressed their stubborn stance.

The virtual body said, “Please don’t try to blackmail me with that silly story that you made up about me coveting the pathway of slavery and the other two. No self-respecting gods will believe that kind of hearsay.”

The god of knowledge chuckled and said, “You will be terribly wrong if you think other gods won’t believe what I have to say. The fact that you don’t want to admit that it is true doesn’t mean that it isn’t true, and the fact that you don’t want to believe me doesn’t mean that other gods won’t.”

“But in the spirit of cooperation and because I also want you to fight and delay the god of crime from succeeding, I won’t try to threaten you with releasing this information to the world. Instead of doing that, I will offer you other incentives.”

“I have two pieces of information for you. The first one is how to upgrade an innate talent into an authority and use it to complete a supreme authority. The second one is how to gain control of the authority of the pathway of slavery.”

“The first piece of information will be very useful to you, even if you don’t get the authority of the pathway of slavery and the authority of its two adjacent pathways. You already have three compatible authorities, so my information will help you become a supreme god.”

“As for my second piece of information, its usefulness is right there for all to see. The god of nobles has had the authority of the pathway of slavery for so long and has not been able to fuse with it. If you don’t want to end up the same way, you will need what I have to say.”

The virtual body was silent for a while before saying, “Not enough.”

Their reply made the god of knowledge smile. The fact that they were asking for more meant that they were willing to accept the deal.

So the god of knowledge said, “How about this? If you help me with this, I promise not to give the information about how to control the authority of the pathway of slavery to the god of nobles or the god of crime or anyone else.”

“This is a good offer I’m making here because the two of them are already asking me for the information and are willing to pay a lot for it. So if you refuse to accept my deal, you will have to pay for it the hard way.”

“I can tell you know that one of the reasons why the god of crime isn’t in a rush to make a move on the god of nobles yet is because he doesn’t know how to control the authority of the pathway of slavery yet, and because the god of nobles had hidden the authority somewhere safe.”

“To top things off, I’ll never tell anyone else about your possession of other pathways. So what do you think?”

The virtual body said, “Deal.”

At this point, they had to accept the deal. They have four reasons for accepting the deal.

The first and probably the most important reason is that the god of knowledge can get what he is asking for from somewhere else.

All the god of knowledge needs to do is create his own angel of telepathy. It will just take time, and Legion won’t be able to stop him because they haven’t fused completely with the pathway.

The second reason is that the two pieces of information that the god of knowledge is offering are enticing. They suspect that they will be able to figure out the information after some trial and error, but nothing can compare to having the answer before encountering a problem.

The third reason they decided to accept the deal is to keep the god of knowledge from blabbing about what he knows about them to everyone else. If the god of knowledge does this, it will become more difficult for them to get what they want.

They have already sent a virtual body to attack the god of nobles as soon as they found out that the god of knowledge knew too much about them. But they would still like to keep everyone else, especially the god of crime and error, in the dark about their motive and capabilities.

The fourth and final reason they decided to accept the deal is that they don’t want the god of knowledge to become their enemy.

They have seen that the god of knowledge is sincere about this deal after he told them about his innate talent and rank 10 divine ability. So they are sure that if they disregard his sincerity, the god of knowledge will come for them with a vengeance.

As it is, the god of crime and error is a powerful but ignorant enemy. But if the god of knowledge becomes their enemy, too, that will make them have two highly informed high gods as their enemies. This is something that they want, so they decided to accept the deal.

The god of knowledge nodded in satisfaction after he heard their agreement. Then he said, “What did I say about talking with intelligent people? I said that they are easy to reason with.”

Legion ignored what he said. They wanted to get this over with as soon as possible, so they swore an oath even without being prompted.

They said, “I swear on my authority of the pathway of telepathy to attack the mind of the god of knowledge with the Gestalt divine ability without trying to harm or take over his mind if he tells me how to upgrade an innate talent into an authority and use it to forge a supreme authority, tells me how to control the authority of the pathway of slavery, swears not to tell anyone else these two pieces of information and swears not to tell anyone else anything about me.”
