GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2581: Denial And More Denial.

Chapter 2581: Denial And More Denial.

They needed one and a half weeks to fuse with the authority of a pathway and become the god of the pathway. They have spent some days doing this before the event with the god of crime. So what they needed was a week to become the god of the pathway of undying.

After making the god of knowledge wait for a week, they created a virtual body to meet with him. The virtual body was willing to enter the white tower to have the meeting because it wasn’t afraid of dying, but the god of knowledge wanted them to meet outside for some reason.

Legion didn’t care anyway. But it seemed that the god of knowledge didn’t like that they made him wait for so long, and this was clear from the first thing that the god of knowledge said to them.

The god of knowledge was in the shape of a tree. He was a large tree made of white paper. Both the trunk and leaves were made of white paper.

But there were black writings on the sheets of paper which gave the tree a black and white appearance. There were also many eyes all over the body of the black and white tree. Each eye was black and white.

The first thing the god of knowledge said was, “Are you playing hard to meet in order to create the illusion that you haven’t fused your mind with the mind of every telepath and weren’t immediately aware of my intention to meet as soon as I told a telepath?”

Legion was examining the appearance of the god of knowledge when they heard what he said. Even though what he said was the truth, they still said, “I heard that you’re smart, but all I see is a god who likes to spout bullshit.”

This angered the god of knowledge even more. But he didn’t flare up. He just chuckled and said, “Is that so?”

Then he asked harmlessly, “What do you think of the god of crime and error?”

Legion didn’t know why he asked that question, but they went ahead to reply because they didn’t have a problem speaking about the god of crime and error.

The virtual body said, “He is an impressive god. After thinking about his scheme, I have to come to the conclusion that the god of justice never stood a chance against him.”

The god of knowledge nodded in agreement and said, “That’s true. But to be fair, he had the element of surprise on his side. He also had the right ultimate ability needed to pull off his scheme. The only action of his that required wisdom was waiting for the god of justice to unlock his potential before making a move.”

Legion chuckled and said, “To think that the only reason why the god of justice could continue to jump around was because the god of crime and error wanted him to find a way to be able to accommodate the pathway of knight, the pathway of nobility, and the pathway of slavery.”

“If the god of justice had known this, I’m not sure if he would still be able to hold himself back from trying to accommodate those three pathways. After all, it was the only way for him to acquire enough strength to fight the god of crime and error.”

“Besides, if he refused to separate the pathway of knights into a vessel before fusing with it again in order to unlock his potential, the god of crime can still kill him and take his place. Then the god of crime would use his talent to separate the pathway of knights and do what the god of justice didn’t want to do.”

“So the god of justice’s only chances were to die without resisting or try to resist and still die. It is why I said he didn’t stand a chance.”

The god of knowledge was impressed with Legion’s analysis of the situation. He said, “I’m glad that you have such a good grasp of the situation. It seems that you’re intelligent. That’s good because it means what I want to do will be easier to do. After all, intelligent people are easier to reason with.”

Legion asked, “What do you mean? What do you want to do?”

Instead of answering the questions, the god of crime asked another question, saying, “So it is right for me to say that you consider the god of crime to be someone capable of becoming a powerful enemy to you?”

Legion frowned, but still replied, “He is capable of becoming a powerful enemy to everyone.”

The way they worded their reply amused the god of knowledge. But since the god of telepathy still wanted to act coy, he decided to act coy with them.

He said, “I’m talking about him being a powerful enemy to you in particular. I mean, what do you think he will do if he knows that you covet the pathway of slavery, the pathway of knights, and the pathway of nobility?”

The virtual body asked in confusion, “Why would I covet the pathway of slavery, the pathway of knights, and the pathway of nobility?”

Their question made the god of knowledge smile. But instead of replying, he asked another question, “And what do you think the god of crime and every other god would do if they knew that the god of telepathy is an angel of undying, and also an angel of slavery with a divine ability that helps him balance these pathways?”

Before the virtual body could reply, the god of knowledge answered his question. He said, “I don’t think that you can successfully become a god in the three different pathways. But I believe that becoming a god in two different pathways is possible. This means that you can do what the god of justice was trying to achieve.”

“The god of crime and error already has people on edge. So I doubt anyone would want another person like the god of crime with control over six pathways. I also doubt the god of crime would want someone who can compete with him to exist.”
