GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2574: Tit For Tat.

Chapter 2574: Tit For Tat.

If he agreed with the god of crime and error, he would be giving up the pathway of justice, but it would mean that he wouldn’t have to fight the god of crime and error, who is a powerful high god, to the death anymore.

He also would be able to get the god of crime and error to help him defeat the god of nobles. So there are many advantages to allying with the god of crime and error.

After thinking about it for a long time, he felt that the deal was good, but he didn’t dare agree to anything because doing so now would indicate that he was in a weak position and had no choice but to agree with the proposal.

He was afraid that if he showed himself to be weak, then it was to be expected that the god of crime and error wouldn’t bother to try to convince him and would rather kill him to get rid of any future troubles.

Besides, even if the god of crime and error was sincere about making a deal with him, once he asked for the authority of the pathway of nobles and the authority of the pathway of slavery in exchange of giving up the pathway of justice, the god of nobles and his allies would convince the god of crime to attack him since they had the advantage of numbers.

He wanted to take the deal, but he wasn’t in a position to negotiate with his enemies. So the god of justice didn’t agree to anything yet. He kept backing up and waiting for the right time.

The five gods flanked him and aimed to surround him after seeing him retreat. But they had to stop when new gods showed up on the scene.

The new gods were five in number, and they stood on the side of the god of justice. It was clear that they were the allies of the god of justice.

The god of justice regained his confidence after his allies appeared. He grinned at the god of nobles and said, “Do you think you’re the only one who can call for help? If there are people who want to stop me from growing stronger, then there must be people who don’t want him to grow stronger either. By bringing him here to help you, you’ve given me the bargaining power to ask them for help.”

He had prepared some helpers before this battle. It was the common-sense thing to do since he expected the god of nobles to use his potential to create a supreme authority to recruit helpers.

This was the preparation he made before setting off. He had called in some favors, but not many gods want to help him become too strong. The main people who were willing to help him are the god of seers, the god of fate, and the god of life.

The god of seers helped him in exchange for gaining his help in fighting the god of knowledge. The god of fate helped him in exchange for his help in killing the god of disaster. The god of life helped him because she hated the god of death and wanted to kill him permanently.

He had to be willing to give up something in exchange for their help. But even though he was not asking for free help, only three gods were willing to help him grow stronger.

He thought that the three gods would be enough to defeat his enemies and whatever allies they brought to fight him. But he still asked the three gods to help him recruit more helpers. This was why they didn’t follow him to the battlefield.

The three gods went to recruit more helpers, but they were having little success in it. They didn’t have much success until the god of crime and error appeared.

The god of crime and error had offended many gods before and after he became a god. But of the many gods who hated him, only two of them were confident in their strength enough to appear to help the god of justice.

These two gods are the god of merchants and the god of travelers. Their willingness to help increased the number of allies of the god of justice to five. Now he had six gods on his side, while the god of nobles only had five gods.

The god of crime saw this and frowned as he said, “It seems you don’t want to go down without a fight. So be it. I’ll show you the power of a high god.”

Legion was watching all of these happen with interest. Their true body wasn’t the one fighting, so they had the right to leisurely watch the fight.

They too wanted to witness the power of a high god. They’ve had a taste of it through the power of the god guardians, but that was indirect power, and they were too weak back then to be able to resist or tell much about it.

This time, they wanted to see the power of someone who had fused completely with a pathway up close. So they were the most eager for the god of crime and error to make a move.

The god of crime stretched his hand towards the god of justice and said, “You are good in every way. You are powerful and talented. I wanted your talent and potential. This is why I let you live till today. I wanted to have what makes you so full of potential.”

Actually, he didn’t plan to spare the god of justice at all. Since they met, he had already been using the rank 1 divine ability of the pathway of error called Lie and the power of the authority of the pathway of crime on the god of justice.

If the god of justice had agreed to his deal, the god of justice would have been doomed as he wouldn’t have needed to fight in order to get what he wanted. So he felt it was a pity that the god of justice decided to resist so much.
