GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2573: Pressing The Advantage.

Chapter 2573: Pressing The Advantage.

The god of justice has tried many times in the past to bring down the Empire of nobles, but the god of nobles has always been able to hold him off, thanks to the help of the god of death and the god of disaster.

But times have changed. He has become too strong to stop now. Even the help of the god of telepathy won’t be able to stop him from destroying the Empire of Nobles.

As long as he destroys the foundation of the god of nobles before the god of telepathy can fuse with the authority of the pathway of illusion and the authority of the pathway of dreams, it won’t matter that the number of enemies has increased.

He said solemnly to himself, “At the end of the day, I will have the last laugh.”

His mind was made up on taking down the god of nobles as soon as possible. So he led the charge against the empire of nobles right from the frontlines.

In the past, when he was trapped and his church waged war on others, his believers always lacked his direct support. This allowed the gods of other kingdoms and churches to bully his church.

This was why the forces of the kingdom of Wessex were able to defeat the lamp bearers and sent them running. The god of disaster had bullied his forces with earthquakes, plagues, and diseases of various kinds.

The best that he could do was to avenge the loss of believers after their death. But his decree that anyone who killed a lamp bearer or judge would surely die couldn’t intimidate other gods.

The situation changed a little after he was released from his position of guarding the Ocean of Blood. His release meant that his enemies couldn’t bully his believers without paying some price for doing so.

He still couldn’t fight his enemies directly because they outnumbered him, and he would run out of divine energy if he fought all three of them at once. But they also had to hurdle together for safety and couldn’t act independently anymore because they were afraid of him taking them on separately.

But things have changed now. Now he has the strength to suppress all of his enemies.

Even if his enemies have increased to four in number, he will still be victorious. So he led his troops openly to the empire of nobility.

But even though he was confident of victory, he still made some preparations and called in some favors. He did this to prepare for unforeseen circumstances and accidents. Only after he made ample preparation with himself, his church, and his army did he truly set off for war.

Just as he expected, the god of nobles had to come out to defend his foundation. The god of nobles also came out with his allies.

The god of justice wasn’t surprised to see the god of telepathy among his opponents. But he was surprised to see a fifth god.

This fifth god was shrouded in haze, so their figure wasn’t distinct and clear to see. But even without being able to see who it was, he was able to identify the god based on the feeling of compatibility and hostility that he instinctively felt from the god.

So there were six gods in total. All of them were high up in the sky where the mortals couldn’t see them.

On one side were five gods, while on the other side was the god of justice. The god of justice didn’t look at the four other gods. His attention was entirely on the fifth god.

The god of justice said, “I expected the weakling who calls himself the god of nobles to call for help, but I didn’t expect you to show up to help.”

The hazy fifth god said, “I had to show up. After all, you’re about to complete your path. I can’t wait for you to succeed and come for me. With the kind of threat that you’ve become to me, I would have come even if the god of nobles didn’t call for help.”

The god of justice said, “I was hoping that you would be dying somewhere or too busy fusing with the pathway of error to have time for me, but it seems I’m not that lucky.”

As he said this, he began to back away. His behavior showed that he had no intention of fighting anymore.

But the god of crime and error wasn’t just going to let him leave after coming out like this. He said to the god of justice, “All I want is the Star of Justice. Give it to me and I’ll let you go.”

The god of crime and error encouraged him by saying, “You already have the pathway of knights to fall back onto. So you won’t miss out too much.”

“It is better for you to give me what I want than for us to fight and for you to lose everything you have. Since you could sever the pathway of knights before, I’m sure that you can sever the pathway of justice now with minimal repercussions.”

The god of crime spoke at length, trying to convince the god of justice to give up while also advancing and moving closer to the god of justice to indicate that he was willing to use force to get what he wanted if the god of justice wouldn’t give him what he asked for.

This combination of the soft and hard approach made the god of justice rethink his options. He felt that what the god of crime and error said was true to some extent.

He felt that he should accept the deal in exchange for the god of crime and error helping him get the authority of the pathway of nobles and the authority of the pathway of slavery.

He felt that rather than risking his life and everything he had in his possession, it would be better to settle for the pathway of knights, the pathway of nobles, and the pathway of slavery.
