GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2558: Two Turtles.

Chapter 2558: Two Turtles.

After he was shocked enough to stand up, the god of illusion said in disbelief, “Impossible. Didn’t I just kill him? Was I deceived? Was the previous one an illusion?”

He had been jubilating earlier when the god of telepathy had crumbled and disappeared from the world. But his joy quickly turned into surprise and disbelief when the god of telepathy appeared again.

He had briefly suspected that the god of telepathy didn’t truly die because the authority of the pathway of telepathy didn’t appear. But after he remembered that the Mind Palace always stayed in the Mindscape, he put aside his suspicion.

He truly thought that he had killed the god of telepathy. This is all because he doesn’t know the true effect of the ultimate ability of the pathway of telepathy.

Not many people know it because there has never been a god of telepathy. So the virtual body situation and abilities is a secret.

But now that this has happened, he realized that he had to quickly figure out what kind of power the god of telepathy had used to come back to life. So he thought back to everything he knew about telepaths.

Specifically, he thought about how telepaths were able to put their power into a virtual flesh and use that virtual flesh to display their power somewhere else that is far away from them. So telepaths can remain in safety while wreaking havoc through that virtual flesh.

He knows this much about telepaths. As an intelligent person, he quickly concluded that if ordinary telepaths can do that much with the borrowed power of the authority of their pathway, then a god should be able to do more with the authority of the pathway.

After he came to this conclusion, he said to him, “So maybe the person I killed earlier was only a virtual copy. His true body is probably hiding somewhere else. If I don’t kill his true body, he will always be able to send this copy to harass me.”

This thought made him gloomy and unhappy. He became even more unhappy because he didn’t know how to find the true body of the god of telepathy.

The worst part is that the god of telepathy doesn’t have something valuable that he can attack. If the god of telepathy had a church, he would be able to target the church in retaliation. Unfortunately, there is nothing like that that he can target in order to put pressure on the god of telepathy.

This made him stamp his foot in frustration and say, “This is like the god of dreams all over again. They are both turtles that only expose their tails, never their heads.”

Then he gritted his teeth and said, “Fine. Let me see how many copies you can create. Surely, creating a copy this powerful must cost some energy.”

He took out his Mirror in the world again and used both the Nightmare divine ability and the Permanent Illusion divine ability. He did this because he had decided to wear down the god of telepathy.

He knows that this move won’t kill the god of telepathy, but he is not aiming to kill the god of illusion with this move anymore. All he wants to achieve now is to make the god of telepathy run out of divine energy and be forced to give up.

As long as the virtual copy dies, the god of telepathy will have to expend more divine energy to recreate it. When the god of telepathy runs out of divine energy, they will be forced to stop killing his believers.

It is a feasible plan because he is supposed to have the advantage in terms of divine energy. After all, he has a large church to supply him with divine energy, while the god of telepathy doesn’t have any church.

He had high expectations for this plan. But when he used the Nightmare divine ability on the virtual body, it didn’t work at all.

To be exact, the Nightmare divine ability still worked. They were still afraid of ANNIHILATION, so the all-destroying darkness still appeared in Legion’s mind through the virtual body.

But Legion said to themselves, “This isn’t real.”

They were fooled once before, but they won’t allow themselves to be fooled a second time in a short amount of time.

Their Cognitive Adaptation, Environmental Adaptation, and Death Adaptation all took effect to block the ability. But really, all that was needed to nullify the effect of the Nightmare divine ability was their Cognitive Adaptation ability.

The nightmare was shattered, and ANNIHILATION disappeared from their minds. Since the Nightmare divine ability didn’t affect them, the Permanent Illusion had nothing to work on, so it too became invalid.

The god of illusion didn’t see ANNIHILATION appear and disappear. He didn’t know what exactly had happened to squash his plans. All he knew was that his attack hadn’t worked, and that was enough to make him angry.

He became incensed immediately. Then he said, “Too can play this game.”

After he said this, he took a white piece of paper and began to draw on it. He drew on the paper using the Painter divine ability.

The Painter divine ability created a paintbrush in his hand. It was this conjured paintbrush that he used to draw on the sheet of paper.

As he drew on the white sheet of paper, what he drew came to life. They jumped out of the paper and became living things.

The painted living things were still two-dimensional entities. They were flat and paper-thin. But this changed when he used the Permanent Illusion divine ability on them.

The Permanent Illusion divine ability converts illusions into reality. This is why it is hailed as the greatest divine ability for illusions. Unfortunately, only angels, godlings, subordinate gods, and the god of the pathway can use it because it is a rank 9 divine ability.

Once the Permanent Illusion divine ability was used on the painted entities, they transformed from two-dimensional entities into three-dimensional entities.
