Chapter 2554: Letting Loose.

The power they got after eating the body of the god of machinery helped Legion to quickly reach the limit of what their potential can allow them to achieve. So the raw power of their divine flesh and divine soul quickly reached 122,880 units.

This pushed their total power to 2,548,039,680. Compared to the time when they just became a god, they’ve come a long way.

They have been looking forward to this moment for a long time. One of the reasons they’ve been eager for this moment is that, without the need to eat the divine beings they kill, they can finally use the ultimate ability of the Ocean of Blood on the divine beings that they kill.

Another reason why they have been looking forward to this moment is that they can now start targeting gods without fearing that their eating would be interrupted. So after achieving the limit of their power, they decided to make a move against the god of illusion.

They didn’t dance to his tune, of course. They didn’t challenge him openly or go to where he had been waiting for them to fight them. Instead of fighting the god of illusion directly, they went after his believers.

Legion didn’t want the god of illusion writing stories about them and forcing them to bring the stories to pass, so they targeted his believers.

Right now, they can already feel the impact of the first story. This impact is stopping them from fusing with the Seed of Dreams.

They don’t like this impact at all and want to put a stop to it while also putting a stop to any other stories that the god of illusion might write about them in the future. So they want to remove the people who believe in his stories first.

The second reason they went after the believers of the god of illusion is to weaken the god of illusion and cut off his source of faith.

They don’t know the number of souls that the god of illusion has, but they know that if they cut off his source of faith, his artificial souls will be destroyed, which will reduce his divine power.

The lack of faith would also reduce the regeneration of divine energy using faith. They already have the advantage in divine energy, but this will increase that advantage even further by crippling the supply of divine energy of the god of illusion.

They don’t think they need to do all of these in order to subdue the god of illusion. They believe that now that they’ve reached the limit of their power with one pathway and have 12 souls, they should be more powerful or at least equal in power to the god of illusions.

But they are still going to use every available means to weaken the god of faith before going after him. After all, the authority of the pathway of illusion is one of the 12 authorities that they need to become a supreme god.

With so much at stake, they can’t let anything go wrong. Besides, they plan to use their attack on the god of illusion to target the god of nobles and the god of justice.

They had thought about this course of action even before they began hunting divine beings to eat. So now that they have the power to take action, they didn’t hold back.

For this action, they created virtual copies of their minds using the ultimate ability of the Mind Palace. These virtual copies are what they used to use before they became the god of the pathway.

The virtual copies are mental constructs without any physical power or physical presence. So they are completely invisible to most entities.

Legion created more than ten thousand virtual copies and set them loose on the church of illusion. It was as if a tide of invisible enemies was slowly submerging the believers of the god of illusion.

The virtual copies always started their attacks from a branch of the church of Justice. They would first attack the priests and absorb their memories.

They targeted the priests first because the priests knew who the believers of their branch were. So with the memories of the priests, it was easy for the virtual copies to find the believers of the god of illusion.

The virtual copies were eliminating tens of thousands of believers every day. So even if the god of illusions has 100 million believers, he couldn’t sit still and let this continue to happen.

Unfortunately, the god of illusion didn’t know what was happening because the virtual copies were only using their divine abilities to brainwash the believers into stopping believing in the god of illusion.

No one died despite the large amount of manpower that Legion was using. So the god of illusion couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong nor come up with something to do about it.

All that the god of illusion could tell was that he was losing faith really fast. This made him confused for a while.

But his state of confusion didn’t last long. After thinking about his situation and who he had acted against recently, he was able to narrow down the person behind the loss of faith.

As a god, everyone is his enemy. But not everyone in the world will take action against him. There are only a few people who don’t like him so much that they are willing to take action against him.

His most significant enemies are the god of justice and the god of telepathy. These two are the ones he offended recently, and who hate him enough to target his source of faith.

After thinking about which one of his two most significant enemies could be responsible for the loss of faith, he quickly determined that the one acting against him had to be the god of telepathy, or if there was more than one enemy, had to have the god of telepathy as one of the people acting against him.
