Chapter 2553: No Way Out.

The giant furnace body of the god of machinery rose from the ground and roared to the sky in anger and anguish. As it did so, it fused with the factory around it. This was the effect of the ultimate ability called Machine Unity.

The factory began to work again. It began to produce golems, puppets, and other machines of war.

It looked like the future was bright and full of potential. However, all of these activities were done in a haphazard manner. This was because the god of machinery had gone mad.

If given time and a great amount of luck, the residual would be able to acclimate to its new existence. But for now, it will remain muddled.

Even though the god of machinery has gone mad, it has also become stronger. This has made it more dangerous. But Legion wasn’t intimidated.

It is true that divinity flooded the souls of the god of machinery beyond the limit of what his souls can handle. But even this flooding has a limit. Each soul can only hold 144 units of divinity.

The maximum amount of divinity that souls can hold is equal to the amount that each soul can hold when the god has the maximum number of 12 souls. So even though the god of machinery lost control, he can’t possess more divinity than Legion.

Not only that, he only has 10 souls and 10 divine fragments, so his divine power is now 10 × 10 × 144 when it should have been 10 × 10 × 100.

His divine power right now is 14,400. This is much less than the 20,736 value of Legion’s divine power. What’s more, because he has fewer souls than Legion, the raw power of his divine body and divine soul is also less than Legion’s.

As someone with 7 original souls, the limit of his raw power is 71,680. So his total power right now is 1,032,192,000. When it is compared with Legion’s power of 2,258,378,496, it is clear that he is much weaker than Legion.

Even in his mad state, Legion is more than two times stronger than him. So he can’t threaten or stop them at all. There is just no way out for him. Not even his move made out of desperation can help him avoid the fate of being eaten.

This situation is different from when the god of dreams lost control and they struggled to defeat him. Plus, Legion doesn’t want to use the Gestalt Mind divine ability on the god oc machinery. All they want is destruction, so they have fewer handicaps.

Legion quickly destroyed the mind of the god of machinery. After his mind scattered, the authority of the pathway left him. Legion didn’t care about this because the authority of the pathway would have still left the god of machinery even if they had managed to use Gestalt Mind in him.

The god of machinery lost his mind and also the authority of his pathway. This weakened him, so even if he could have resisted Legion after the virtual body descended, his resistance would have ended in failure.

This loss of the authority of the pathway also caused the ultimate ability to stop working. This made the body of the god of machinery separate from the fortress.

Just as the factory started working, it switched off and became silent again. Only the golems were still moving around, patrolling the location.

Meanwhile, in the inner chambers of the fortress, Legion’s virtual body descended and began eating the body of the god of machinery.

The body of the god of machinery is a large forge with fire burning within it. The fire couldn’t stop Legion from crushing the forge and devouring the whole thing completely.

The virtual body also ate the souls of the god of machinery. His corpse had all of his souls, so they knew for sure that he was completely dead.

They had already absorbed his memories, so they knew that he didn’t keep avatars somewhere outside to keep on living. The fact that all of his souls were here proved without a doubt that he was truly completely dead.

Once the virtual body was done eating the god of machinery, he approached the golems and enhanced their minds. He gave the golems more memories and helped to increase the intelligence of their minds. This was done to make them better guards of the factory.

After doing this, the virtual body left. As for the authority of the pathway machinery, the virtual body left it behind.

Now that the golems had become more intelligent, they felt more at ease leaving the authority behind. Besides, they couldn’t use the authority or take it into the Mindscape. So they could only enhance the security around it to keep it safe.

Even if they overcome the incompatibility between their four original pathways and the pathway of machinery and could take control of the authority of the pathway of machinery, they wouldn’t do so because they have a limited number of souls.

They have 12 souls, which means that they can only have 4 original pathways and 8 adjacent pathways for a total of 12. There is just nowhere to put the authority of the pathway of machinery.

If they force themselves to fuse with the authority of the pathway of machinery, this would mean that they would have to give up on one of their other 12 pathways.

Since the pathway of machinery isn’t compatible with any of their original pathways, they will have to remove one of their four original pathways in order to create space for the authority of the pathway of machinery. That isn’t possible for them at this point.

So Legion gave up on the authority of the pathway of machinery and made the virtual body return to give the true body the power that it had just harvested. The power that it harvested from the god of machinery was funneled into the true body to enhance their power.
