Chapter 2512: Environmental Adaptation.

It is said that one should become a godling before they become a god so that the upgraded innate talent they gain when they become godlings will be able to help them resist the influence of the authority of the pathway and not lose control easily when they become a god.

Legion read about this in a book. They had agreed with the conjecture even though they didn’t have the risk of losing control. But reading about something doesn’t compare to experiencing it personally.

Instead of being limited to making their existence adapt to internal influences like a divine flesh, their new Environment Adaptation divine ability can now make their existence adapt to external influences like environmental conditions, harmful substances, and energy attacks.

What’s more, the effect of the Environmental Adaptation divine ability is no longer passive. They can control its activation and also speed up its effect with spiritual energy.

After this upgrade to their innate talent, their existence began to change and evolve. The first change was to the divine flesh of the pathway of killing.

Because the divine flesh that the divine fragment has become is of a higher quality than their rank 7, rank 8, and rank 9 divine flesh. The rank 7, rank 8, and rank 9 divine flesh were pushed into their bodies.

The pushing of the three powerful divine flesh into their bodies caused their body to change again. This process is slightly dangerous, but as long as every divine flesh has been mastered to 100%, then there shouldn’t be a problem.

The divine flesh that was created is also compatible with the three divine flesh, so they didn’t resist it. If they had resisted it, only a god could have intervened and saved their life. But they will, in turn, have to shackle their existence to that of the god because without the constant support of the god, they will die.

They have achieved that temporarily by using the enhancement of the Bloodthirsty divine ability. But thanks to their advancement, they can now improve their spiritual power to 10,240 units permanently.

The second step of the advancement is to combine the power of all of their souls into their divine power. Even the souls in their other pathways can now enhance the power of the divine abilities in the pathway of killing. So the more souls they have, the stronger they will be as a godling.

The third step of improvement is to fill the three new divine flesh in their bodies. This way, all nine divine flesh of the pathway now hold spiritual energy.

The fourth evolution caused the amount of spiritual energy that their divine flesh and souls hold to increase from 2,460 units to 5,120. So not only will the number of storage for spiritual energy increase, but the amount of spiritual energy that each storage can now hold has also increased.

The fifth change caused the divine flesh in their body to combine and change their body into their divine form permanently. This change to their body is final and permanent. So they lost their human form and are now in their humanoid figure made of blood form permanently.

The advantage of this change is that they don’t have to expend spiritual energy to use their divine form anymore. They can now use it forever.

The disadvantage is that they will have to suffer the enhanced influence and temptations of their divine form forever. So if they don’t have a way to deal with this increased mental strain, they will lose control and go mad.

But they don’t have to experience this disadvantage thanks to their 10th divine ability called Environmental Adaptation. And thanks to this divine ability, they can also use the divine abilities and divine form of other pathways.

Legion doesn’t know it, but it is nearly impossible to become a godling of two pathways even if those pathways are compatible with each other. This is because once one becomes a godling, they lose the fluidity of the human form and permanently become a divine being.

So anyone who tries to become a godling in two pathways usually dies. Only special people can become godlings with two pathways. Even gods can’t change this. And even gods of two pathways can only use the ultimate ability of the authority of their second pathway, not the divine abilities or divine form of their second pathway.

Legion doesn’t know this, but it is something that they will never have to worry about. They can peacefully go ahead with the last few changes without worrying that it would limit the divine abilities and divine forms of their other pathways.

The sixth change caused the power of their body to reach the limit of the mortal realm permanently. They had previously achieved this thanks to the enhancement of the Power of Wealth divine ability. But that enhancement could be lost if they lost their wealth.

Now that the power of their physique is permanent, they can use the money that they used to enhance their body to use the other divine abilities in the pathway of merchants that require money.
