After using the Mental Probe divine ability to touch the virtual flesh, they have to use hypnosis to make sure that the virtual flesh doesn’t resist what they are about to do to it.
Then they must use their new Mental Domination divine ability to wipe out any lingering memories and thoughts in the virtual flesh until it is truly a blank piece of flesh without any will residing in it.
This entire process can take days or weeks depending on the skill and power of the telepath. But Legion cut the process short by using their Mark of Bondage divine ability and the Puppetry divine ability on it.
The use of the Bondage divine ability and Puppetry divine ability allowed them to bypass tedious work and gain instant control of the virtual flesh.
Next they used the Power Bond divine ability on the virtual flesh. This granted them an in-depth understanding of the virtual flesh and what it was capable of.
They were able to confirm that the virtual flesh can indeed be used to gain control of the Mind Palace and that it is not a hoax created by someone whose goal is to trick them into doing something nefarious.
They were also able to confirm that the process of borrowing the power of the Mind Palace, if done well, can be extended and used to gain full control of the Mind Palace.
This process will involve creating a large amount of virtual flesh and subduing it. Each piece of virtual flesh will provide a small amount of authority in the Mind Palace.
Once the authority they possess reaches a 10% threshold of the total authority of the Mind Palace, they will be able to take control of the Mind Palace and wield the authority of the pathway.
The problem with this process and why no one has been able to succeed is that the more people try to use this method to gain control of the Mind Palace, the lesser the chances that one of them will succeed.
For example, initially, the grey cube has a total capacity of 1,000 virtual flesh. These 1,000 virtual flesh accounts for a total of 100% authority. So in order to gain 10% authority, all a telepath will need to do is subdue at least 100 units of virtual flesh.
But during this process, the telepath has to create new units of virtual flesh, which they will support with their spiritual energy. Each unit that they create will increase the total amount of available virtual flesh and raise the bar to gain 10% of it.
In this case, the legendary telepath will actually need to create and subdue 120 units of virtual flesh for them to gain 10% authority because the total units of virtual flesh would have increased from 1,000 units to 1,120 units.
If another telepath joins the process and tries to create more virtual flesh to gain control of the Mind Palace, they will need to create more than that 120.
To be exact, they will need to create 130 units of virtual flesh to gain 10% authority of the Mind Palace because the total available virtual flesh has increased from 1,120 units to 1,250 units.
So with each attempt by different telepaths, the amount of total virtual flesh in existence increases. This raises the bar to acquire 10% for everyone else.
If they also decide to try and gain control of the Mind Palace by creating more virtual flesh, they will only raise the difficulty for others and themselves.
The first way to solve this problem is to kill every other telepath or gain control of the other telepaths and make them surrender their pursuit of the Mind Palace.
The second way to overcome this is to possess a lot of spiritual energy capable of matching every other telepath attempting to gain control of the Mind Palace.
Apparently, only someone who can achieve either of these two options is worthy of becoming the god of the pathway. Legion thought that it was a fitting requirement for the title of God of the Pathway.
They think that the requirement is reasonable. But they also think it is difficult. The fact that no one has been able to meet the requirements shows just how difficult it is.
From what they’ve heard, the main method that the telepaths are using is to borrow the power of the Mind Palace to attack other telepaths. The alternative method is to gain control of many telepaths and use them as tools to gain control of the Mind Palace.
No one is using the second method because no one possesses enough spiritual energy to match every other telepath. Even they can’t achieve this despite their large capacity of spiritual energy.
They have a lot of spiritual energy, but they simply can’t match the spiritual energy of a hundred other legendary telepaths. They doubt any mortal can do that.
But their situation is not hopeless. They still have two methods that they can try. The first method is to try and steal the Mind Palace. This is the method that they are most inclined to.
They don’t want to work hard like the other telepaths. It is not as if working hard is the right way to achieve a goal. If working hard could have solved the problem, why hasn’t the problem been solved despite so many telepaths working so hard?
No, they don’t want to work hard. What they want to do is work smart. So they entered the Mindscape again and used it to return to the Hydra Kingdom.
The Mindscape is everywhere, including the spiritual dimension. As legendary telepaths, they can enter it any time they want and use it to reach any place that they have been in the past.
They can’t use the Mindscape to go anywhere. They must have a location in mind, and it must be a place that they have been before so they will have a complete, accurate, and concrete mental image of it.
