GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2375: Unkillable Tortoise.

Chapter 2375: Unkillable Tortoise.

Legion had used 45% of the energy cost of the attack to block the attack. In return for blocking the attack, they reflected it back to their enemy and gained 50% of the attack in the form of life energy.

If they were injured in any way, that life energy would have come in handy. The attack that was supposed to kill them would have saved them. This was how disgustingly unkillable an undying godclad was.

But they were not injured, so they didn’t need the extra life energy to heal. However, they had another divine ability from their other pathways that could use the extra life energy.

As for their other divine abilities from the pathway of undying, they didn’t activate because they didn’t need to. The three divine abilities that did were more than enough to resist the attack and counterattack successfully.

Not only did that rule refuse to work on Legion, it also backfired. The legendary noble had wasted this spiritual energy to stop them.

Not only did he fail, but he also slowed down and nearly came to a stop because of his rule. This made him angry.

The legendary noble had made that rule to quickly put an end to the fight and stop the influence of his anger. But the move failed and made him angrier than before.

He deactivated the rule in shame. Then he gritted his teeth in anger and said, “Fine. You want to be stubborn, right? I will show you stubborn.”

If he were not influenced by his anger, he would have stuck with prioritizing escape. not fighting. He would have realized that Legion wasn’t going to be easy to defeat and that it would be easier and better to come to an agreement with Legion instead of fighting.

With the state of things, he had the leverage to ask Legion to let both of them escape. The two of them could escape together first and then settle their debts somewhere else. But he didn’t think of that because of his anger.

At this point, he didn’t realize that he was slowly losing control. All he knew was that Legion had disrespected him when they refused to be immobilized by his rule.

“You think because you’re a tortoise, you can act however you want? I will teach you a lesson about how wrong you are.”

He was angry, but he didn’t try to use any divine ability or rules on Legion anymore. Instead, he focused on catching up to Legion and beating the hell out of them.

Even though his mind was being clouded by anger, he still knew that it wouldn’t be easy to defeat Legion with physical force. But he knows that using physical power to overpower Legion will be more energy efficient, so he decided to go with it.

Speaking and negotiating with Legion would be the most energy-efficient means to settle this situation, but doing so would imply that he wasn’t superior to Legion. He wasn’t going to admit that or imply it. So he opted for fighting.

The two legends quickly met up with each other. When they became close enough to come to blows, Legion dropped the gateway to the ground and turned to fight the legend.

The first thing they did was to turn the full effect of the bloody heart onto the legend. The legendary noble resisted by making himself immune to the Life Steal divine ability with his domain.

Blocking the effect of the life steal divine ability should have consumed a lot of spiritual energy, but his domain helped him reduce the cost to 5%.

He also retaliated by taking advantage of his speed boost to attack them. All of these were consuming spiritual energy, but he didn’t care.

Legion said in anger, “These nobles are cheating. They have no weakness and can do anything with their domain and setting rules divine ability. It is no wonder they think that they should control everyone.”

Despite the failure of the bloody heart to cripple their opponent, they refused to stop using it. They kept up the effect in order to keep draining the legendary noble of his spiritual energy.

They also used their Blood Limbs divine ability. They produced six of them and used this to respond to the attack of the legend. They had gained extra life energy from his attack and were now using it to attack him.

The legend was fast and thought that he could use his speed advantage to pummel Legion into the ground. So he was very surprised when blood-red limbs sprouted out of the white-horned rhino.

He asked in shock, “How?”

Legion didn’t reply. The legend was fast, but he couldn’t avoid all six blood limbs. He was just too close to Legion to escape.

One of the blood limbs grabbed his wing. If not for the passive defense that he kept up with his domain, his wing would have been severed cleanly on contact.

Even though the blood limb wasn’t able to cut off his wing, it was still able to coil around the limb and help Legion stop the legend from running away.

Legion then smashed head-on into the noble. The two of them were great divine beasts, so there was very little disparity in the strength of their divine forms.

This meant that the horn on the rhino’s head was dangerous to the blue peacock and could create serious injury if it managed to impale the noble.

Legion’s plan was to do exactly that. They wanted to impale the noble.

Unfortunately, the disparity they had in their divine ability meant that this couldn’t be a simple physical fight. They could also use their divine abilities to influence the outcome of the fight.

The noble was at a disadvantage in the fight because he couldn’t move to escape and because he couldn’t use any divine ability on Legion. Fortunately, his domain divine ability was very versatile and could be used to enhance himself and even change the world.
