GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2355: Two Trump Cards.

Chapter 2355: Two Trump Cards.

Legion-1 spoke as if admitting that ignorance was bliss was a great sin for him to commit. But in this case, ignorance was actually a good thing for them and the legend guarding the station.

They didn’t come here to steal something from a legend without planning to fight the legend. They had prepared two trump cards to ensure that they would at least come out alive from a fight with a legend.

One of those trump cards is the cursed vessel that their fate weaver has been preparing for months. This cursed vessel will strengthen the resistance and rebelliousness of the divine flesh of whoever is cursed.

So this curse is similar to what was used to create the mutants that wore down Captain Sheckel and her team. Anyone who is cursed by it will have a higher tendency of losing control.

One might call the cursed vessel a bomb. It is a bomb that will surely harm the target and might also harm them if the target is a legend.

This is why they first plan to use it to threaten the legend into giving up and letting them go. This should work because legends don’t want to lose control just like anyone else.

But if their threat doesn’t deter the legend or the legend believes that the spring of life is worth more than their life, then Legion will use the cursed vessel and let it unleash the bomb within it.

Once the bomb explodes, they will be fine from the effects of the curse, but the legend won’t be. The legend will begin to lose control immediately and will have to stop fighting them in order to suppress their divine flesh.

If that still doesn’t make the legend give up and he still wants to fight them to death, then they can only use their second trump card.

They don’t want to use their second trump card if they don’t have to. They also don’t want to use the cursed vessel if they don’t have to, but no matter what they think, they believe that they have a better chance of surviving against a mad and easily distracted legend than one who is sane and determined to get them.

Fortunately, they didn’t have to use any of their trump cards. In their opinion, this is good news for both them and the legend.

It is good for the legend because he won’t have to sacrifice his life for material wealth, and it is good for them because they won’t have to risk their lives for material wealth either. So both of them should be happy about it.

They were certainly happy about how everything turned out. They were in a good mood as they left the station and returned to Reinfield without losing any of their slaves and even gaining more divine flesh, divine artifacts, and energy water.

They gained the last few things from the storage of the station. They had practically cleaned out everything there, so they had to be in a good mood.

They thought that the legend would be in a good mood too, but that wasn’t what happened when the legend discovered what had happened.

The legend wasn’t the one to discover the robbery. It was the next batch of guards who came to start their shift but came to find an empty station that discovered what had happened.

The legend was very pissed when he realized that his station had been robbed right under his nose. He roared and swore vengeance to the heavens.

He was really angry, so his words were not for show. He actually decided to put in the work to find the thief, so he went to hire the help of a legendary fate weaver.

On the other side, Legion returned to Reinfield triumphantly. Then they did the same thing they did with the station. They let someone from within the array guarding the spirit spring open the door for them.

The protection for Spirit Spring in Reinfield had a different type of arrangement than the station. For one, there was only one wall around the spirit spring, and it wasn’t for protecting the spirit spring.

The wall was only used to demarcate the location of the spirit spring from the city and to prevent trespassing. The real protection was the sturdy pillars that had been erected around the spirit spring.

The pillars were used as anchors for the arrays protecting the spirit springs. The most powerful array is the barrier shield.

From time to time, people pass through the shield and the protection to harvest some energy water from the spring. The legend and the other guards oversee this process.

But the legend isn’t around anymore. There were only two rank 6 godclads and four rank 3 godclads.

All six of them were sitting around the spirit spring. They had their eye on the spirit spring and on each other, so there was no way for Sir Kris to attack one of them without being noticed by the others.

If he was noticed by the others, he would be besieged by the other five. In order to avoid this, he waited until Legion sent reinforcements first.

The reinforcement came in the form of people coming to harvest energy water from the spring. Legion, the giant, the thief, and Black Axe snuck in with the team using the Black Axe’s Environmental Illusion divine ability.

The Environmental Illusion divine ability is a rank 3 of the pathway of the illusionist. The divine ability worked here because the array set up to detect how many people were entering the security system had been deactivated by someone from within the array.

The four people came to reinforce Sir Kris, which made the situation 5 against 5. This made it so that both sides finally had the same number of people, but it didn’t mean that both sides were equal in power.

It wasn’t that Legion didn’t want to bring in more people. They didn’t bring in more people simply because they didn’t need to.
