GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2290: Importance Of Advancement Requirement.

Chapter 2290: Importance Of Advancement Requirement.

Many godclads have been unhappy with their advancement requirements and many of them have tried to circumvent the advancement requirements, but not one person has been confirmed to have successfully evaded their advancement requirement.

The godclads that try to avoid fulfilling their advancement requirements and go ahead to assimilate divine flesh in order to advance all die. So the best that Legion can get away with is just complaining about the unnecessary complications of their advancement requirement.

They can’t do anything else that they want and have to fulfill the specific advancement requirements because that’s the only way to satisfy their divine flesh and prepare their state of existence for the new divine flesh and the divine ability that they will gain through it.

In the case of the pathway of the telepath, if their rank 5 divine flesh is not satisfied, it will reject the rank 6 divine flesh and consider it an invader of its host. That is not something that their adaptation or innate ability can change because their innate ability can’t change the identity of the rank 6 as an invader.

As for the need to devour the mind of the psychic shrieker, this will prepare their existence by giving them the experience needed to overcome the suicidal attack and also gain experience from the memory fragments of the psychic shrieker about how to use their innate ability.

This experience is very important because the innate ability of psychic shriekers is called Mind Howl, which is the rank 6 divine ability that telepaths will get when they advance from rank 5 to rank 6.

Without this experience on how to handle the divine ability, telepaths will find it difficult, if not impossible, to use the rank 6 divine ability. They will also be more likely to lose their minds and control of their bodies because of their unfamiliarity with the new divine ability.

So the advancement requirement is not only for their divine flesh to be satisfied and willing to accept the rank 6 divine flesh to share its host, but it is also for the benefit of the godclad.

Many people have written about these things in the books that they have read. They wrote at length about the importance of advancement requirements and why they shouldn’t be bypassed even if there is a way to do so.

But Legion didn’t need convincing about the importance of the advancement requirements because they knew from their future lives that the advancement requirements are feats that the original owners of the pathways had performed before they became gods and were butchered to pieces for humans to assimilate.

So the advancement requirements are like events and actions necessary for character development. The original owners of pathways performed these activities and learned some special abilities from them after comprehending some things from the activities.

Nowadays, humans don’t have to do the comprehension themselves. They will gain the abilities of the progenitor of their pathways directly through the divine flesh and call it divine abilities.

But they still have to perform those character development activities in order to prepare themselves for those divine abilities and fool their divine flesh into believing that their current host might be the original owner of the pathway.

They knew all of this, so they didn’t complain too long about how complicated the advancement requirement for the advancement of rank 5 to rank 6 of the pathway of the telepath is. After complaining for a short while, they moved into action to fulfill the advancement requirement.

The next thing on their to-do list for the preparation they are doing before they begin stuffing their slaves with more pathways was to acquire more slaves and to acquire a slave that can help them increase the chances of their slave surviving the ordeal.

The specific slave they had in mind that would help them make their slave gain two pathways and advance to the legendary rank safely was the leader of the Light Temple gang.

As a godclad of the pathway of light and an epic one at that, her skills will come in handy for their project and will increase their chances of success greatly. But they held off on enslaving her for now.

They did not go to enslave her immediately because she was on edge and was guarding against them. Her measly defense can’t stop them, but they want to wait until they advance to the next milestone in the mastery of the Mark of Bondage before they go after her.

In the meantime, they moved ahead with fulfilling their need for more slaves. They did this by recruiting rank 3 godclads through the gang. They even advertised their recruitment all over the city.

What they actually want are talented godclads with the potential of wielding at least two pathways. But they can’t ask for that directly, or it will be suspicious. So they opened the recruitment to the public.

They didn’t accept anyone, though. They interviewed the potential recruits and finally picked the ones with high potential among them. Then they let the others go.

Their recruitment kick attracted a lot of attention. Nobles, gangs, and free godclads were attracted because they are currently the largest gang in the outer city.

So a lot of people came over to join their gang. This was different from the first time that they were recruiting people.

At that time, only 12 rank 3 godclads came for recruitment, and Legion accepted all of them. But this time, more than 60 people came to be recruited. Legion still accepted everyone who came.

Some of these people came sincerely to find work, while others were sent as spies. But Legion didn’t mind. They were willing to take every talented godclad that they could find because this will increase their strength.

But not everyone was happy to see them recruit more people. Especially after what happened the first time they recruited people and expanded their size. Legion’s neighbors in particular became nervous about a future attack.
