Chapter 477 - 335: Infiltration, Explosion!!
Chapter 477: Chapter 335: Infiltration, Explosion!!
Qin Zhen’s expression was grim, but his naturally composed demeanor helped him quickly calm down.
The fifty-million-dollar reward for killing Wu Liangchen was certainly tempting, but Qin Zhen had a feeling that money wouldn’t be easy to claim. It was better to let this Yin Jiu test the waters first.
If he succeeded, then Qin Zhen would just have to accept it. Sun Fusheng had already paid him plenty, so missing out on fifty million wasn’t the end of the world.
If he failed, however, then Qin Zhen would have to seriously reconsider his own approach.
With this in mind, he gave the grave-faced Sun Fusheng a slight smile. "Patriarch Sun, there’s no need to worry. With me here, I will ensure your safety."
Compared to Yin Jiu, whose mere presence made one’s skin crawl, Sun Fusheng had much more faith in the steady and resolute Qin Zhen, so he nodded.
"Good, then I’ll be counting on you, Hall Master Qin!"
Qin Zhen smiled faintly. "You’re too kind."
While they were speaking, Yin Jiu was already moving through the internal corridors at an incredible speed.
He didn’t even slow down for corners, instead flowing through them like a wisp of smoke.
Soon, he arrived at the scene of the incident.
The area had been secured and was therefore undisturbed.
Looking at the corpses, especially the massive wound blasted into the captain’s back, Yin Jiu’s lips twisted into a grotesque grin, his smile utterly horrifying.
"A little interesting. Clean and decisive work, and you’ve hidden your aura well enough that even I can’t smell where you’ve gone. It seems you really are qualified to be a headache for the Sun family."
"But that just makes the game more interesting, doesn’t it?"
Yin Jiu cackled, his dead fish eyes glinting with amusement. At the same time, a swarm of black insects suddenly flew out from his sleeves.
The black insects circled the scene once before scattering, some entering the ventilation ducts while others continued down the corridor.
Tracking Insect!
A unique Magic created by Yin Jiu, capable of finding a target through their residual aura.
He had painstakingly cultivated these black insects. They could track a target even if their residual aura was exceedingly faint, making them incredibly powerful.
Not only that, but faint, dark, and viscous strands of light emerged from Yin Jiu’s fingertips, spreading through the air like a spiderweb and clinging to the entrances of every hallway and the corners of every stairwell.
After doing all this, Yin Jiu reached out and took a communicator from a nearby guard. He tuned it to the building’s internal broadcast system and spoke in a taunting tone.
"Little guy, you’d better hide well. Because when I catch you, I won’t let you go so easily. I’m going to turn your body into the most perfect specimen in the Alliance and add you to my collection... Hee hee hee hee hee..."
Yin Jiu’s nearly maniacal laughter echoed through every corridor.
Wu Liangchen, of course, heard it too, but he couldn’t have cared less. He was moving at high speed through the pipes on the second basement level.
He knew the building’s layout and had located several key power nodes and junction boxes for the monitoring center, thoughtfully planting a bomb at each location.
Some of the bombs could destroy reinforced concrete, damaging the building’s structure.
Others could generate powerful electromagnetic interference, cutting off the entire skyscraper’s power supply.
Of course, a massive building like this was certain to have more than one backup circuit. But so what? He had plenty of time, and he’d prepared plenty of bombs.
’So this Yin Jiu wants to play? Fine, I’ll play along!’
But when he thought of the name Yin Jiu, Wu Liangchen felt a strange stir deep within him.
He quickly suppressed it, however, and vanished at the end of the corridor.
Several minutes later, Wu Liangchen had finished planting bombs at every location. He then hid in a secluded stairwell and pressed the detonator.
"BOOM! RUMBLE!"
Following the massive explosions, the floor beneath his feet began to shake violently.
The lights overhead flickered a few times before going out completely.
Screams of shock and terror echoed from the distance, merging with the piercing sirens into a symphony of despair.
A slight smile touched Wu Liangchen’s lips. He took out the communicator he had lifted from a guard earlier and also tuned it to the broadcast channel.
The emergency broadcast system had its own backup power reserve, so it still worked even with the power out.
"You were looking for me, weren’t you? Why don’t you guess where I am now?"
After saying this, Wu Liangchen crushed the communicator in his hand and vanished into the darkness.
Yin Jiu, who had been waiting in a hallway for feedback from his Tracking Insect, flew into a thunderous rage when he felt the explosions and heard Wu Liangchen’s words.
He was always the one who taunted others; never before had anyone dared to provoke him like this.
And the provocation came from an outsider Martial Cultivator he utterly looked down upon.
How could he not be furious!
But he quickly calmed himself, closed his eyes, and let his cold, sinister aura spread out like mercury, carefully sensing every abnormal fluctuation in the air.
When the explosions occurred, the lights in the top-floor office also flickered a few times, but they quickly returned to normal since this floor had its own dedicated power supply.
But Sun Fusheng’s expression was incredibly ugly. He knew his worst fears had finally come to pass.
Fortunately, they had prepared contingency plans, so he quickly began issuing orders.
"Seal all corridors! Activate the emergency power! Firefighting teams, move in and control the blaze."
But even so, the chain reaction from the explosions continued to spread rapidly. Thick smoke billowed madly from shattered windows, interspersed with roaring flames.
「Outside the building.」
The reporters who had been waiting anxiously all saw the scene and immediately erupted into a commotion.
"Look! Something’s happening inside!"
"Holy shit, it’s an explosion!"
"Badass! Wu Liangchen actually did it!"
Camera flashes went off wildly. Like a school of sharks that had smelled blood, the reporters swarmed to the police line, doing everything they could to capture the first-hand footage.
Lin Wei was lost in the crowd, staring blankly at the still-exploding building, her heart involuntarily clenching.
’Mr. Wu, you have to be careful.’
「On the rooftop of another skyscraper not far away.」
Tian Yushi stood against the wind, her white dress fluttering.
She clearly saw the chaos inside the Sun family’s building and felt the energy fluctuations from the several explosions.
Her pupils, which had held a playful smile, suddenly contracted, reflecting the soaring flames and billowing smoke in the distance.
A hint of incredible shock appeared on her fair, delicate face, only to be quickly replaced by a pathologically excited flush.
"He blew it up? He actually dared to blow up the Sun family’s skyscraper!"
"Interesting... Truly interesting! He’s got even more guts than I imagined!"
Tian Yushi licked her lips, her eyes flashing with a light that was a mixture of anticipation and madness. She looked down at the concrete jungle plunged into chaos as if admiring a spectacular fireworks display.
Back inside the building, as another round of explosions rang out, Yin Jiu, who had been keeping his eyes closed, suddenly snapped them open.
Just moments ago, the Tracking Insect he had released had finally caught the faintest trace of Wu Liangchen.
It was like a lamp being lit in the darkness; Yin Jiu’s Perception Power immediately pinpointed Wu Liangchen’s location.
"Found you!"
With that, his figure abruptly transformed into a trail of black smoke and shot off into the distance at extreme speed.
In the dark corridor, smoke and dust filled the air, and the sirens blared.
Wu Liangchen’s figure appeared amidst the wreckage, and he casually headed towards a distant corner.
His powerful Perception Power allowed him to vaguely sense an extremely cold and sinister aura rapidly approaching.
But he wasn’t the least bit panicked. In fact, a cold smirk even appeared on his lips.
’The fish... has finally taken the bait!’
Suddenly, without breaking stride or even looking back, Wu Liangchen threw a backhanded punch into the empty space behind him.
The force of the punch was as sharp and fierce as a blade.
THUD!
Following the muffled sound, it was as if something invisible had been shattered.
