Chapter 1682: Part 1: Sandfall City

We spent the night near the pond. When the next day’s sunlight fell on the ground, we decided to leave.

I placed the dark root vine monster inside the Gregor Mansion.

Hank, Patrick, and Otto were ready to leave. Hank knew about the route to the next city. I told him to lead the way.

Swoosh!

We left the place and started going towards the next destination. On the way, I got curious and started asking about the city.

The next city was called Sandfall City. True to its name, the city was located in the middle of the desert. Our current region was already remote.

The sand region was a remote area as well. It was just that the place was filled with earth magic resources. So, wizards who were in need of rare resources visited the city very often.

Hearing about such an exotic city, my eyes filled with expectation. It appeared I was going to explore these new places.

“Master, should we change our identities again?” Otto asked.

“Sandfall City is a neutral city where wizards from all backgrounds live. So most of them have fake IDs,” Hank said while moving forward.

Hearing that, I said, “Let’s keep the fake identities.”

After saying that, I wore a face mask. I continued to travel with them.

The grassland came to an end. The brown sand started appearing. It was the beginning of the sand area.

As we started flying in mid air, we came across airships and flying vehicles. They were going toward Sandfall City.

Very few vehicles were coming out from the opposite side.

As time passed, I saw the area filled with sand dunes everywhere. Seeing so many sand dunes, I had an idea.

I started using the system to find out whether there was anything abnormal about the city. The system results said that there were many magic resources hidden underground.

After knowing that, my curiosity about the city deepened. The city gate finally appeared an hour later.

It was made of sand. But it was not ordinary sand. It was a magic material. We landed a few meters in front of the city gate.

Hank, Patrick, and Otto were looking around. My gaze fell on the city gate made of sand.

Then I asked the system whether any Forbidden Wizards were present in the city. The system results said that no Forbidden Wizard was present inside.

I sighed in relief. Then I turned towards Hank and asked him to inquire about the details.

Hank nodded before walking towards the city gate. Hank was not new to the city. During his prime days, he was a frequent visitor to the city.

He had visited the place a few years ago, so he recognized a few of the guards. He walked up to them and started talking with them.

Meanwhile, I was wearing the mask. Otto and Patrick were standing beside me. We were new to the city.

But Patrick and Otto were Supreme Wizards. So, those who were walking past us felt the oppression.

They immediately started moving away.

My eyes were scanning the place. I was wearing wandering wizard clothes. I wanted to know whether anyone related to the Mage Union was here.

Then I glanced at Otto and said, “I want to know whether anyone is talking about the Mage Union. It’s been several days. I don’t know what the situation is out there.”

Otto’s eyes flickered.

He said, “Master, I have the same doubt. So I’m observing the place.”

“I think we can get more information after going inside the city,” Patrick said from the side.

Hearing them, I decided to enter the city first to take a rest. Then we would know whether news about me had died down or not.

Hank came back with a smile on his face. He had gotten permission to enter. Since it was a neutral city with a smaller population, they wouldn’t get into our background details.

The security was not tight here. We just had to pay entry fees. Hank had already paid for it. So, the four of us started walking towards the gate.

The guards opened the gate and allowed us to enter. The guards had sensed the power of Supreme Wizards, but they were not afraid.

The City Lord of Sandfall City was a Magic Lord. So, no Supreme Wizards would be able to cause problems here.

We walked into the city. The busy street came into view. It was like any other big city. But the population was smaller, and the infrastructure was not that big.

It didn’t take long for us to find a hotel to stay in. The hotel had four floors. We walked into the hotel and booked two rooms.

One room was for me. The other room was for them. After getting the keys, we reached our rooms a few minutes later.

Otto was continuously listening to the surroundings. So far, he had not heard about the Mage Union. Everyone was discussing the local news.

When we arrived in front of our room, I turned towards Otto and asked him about it.

“Master, the locals were discussing their daily lives. Even the visitors were not mentioning anything about the Mage Union,” Otto said.

Hearing that, my eyes flickered. Then I told them to take a rest before opening the door. I walked in.

Similarly, Hank, Otto, and Patrick walked into the other room.

I immediately used the power of the system to scan the room. I doubted the hotel rooms would be safe.

The system voice sounded in my mind. Hearing that, I immediately left the room and knocked on the door of the other room.

The next second, Hank opened the door.

“Master, what happened?” he asked.

Hearing that, I walked into the room directly. I saw Patrick and Otto were sitting on the sofa. Upon seeing me, they stood up.

I started scanning the room with the system again.
